Thread: Is this true?

Yes its true - doctor buffs, invinco-comp armor & weapon damage outputare all getting smacked with the nerf bat pretty soon (when the combat balance is done, either next publish or the one after that).
I think its inevitable that CH will get the 'tanking' niche when all said and done.
This is good, so this will force most non ch's to properly group up to defeat various high level mobs instead of soloing them, whilst a CH will have a better ability to tank.
This is good!
There has been no definate word over how armor is going to be rebalanced. And given TH's inflamatory statement over how "clever players worked the system" to produce buffs for 2000+ Docs will put up a huge fight over any changes to buffs (he esentially called all the docs who use the best stuff exploiters, oh yeah his Community relations skills are par excellance)
AS for CH being untouched, I will believe it when I see it. The combat revamp is months away.
dont hold your breath or anything

and if other people complain and we aren't too good, they will nerf CH again...

The 'clever players worked the system' comment was one of the most dunderheaded yet by TH, ranking up there with the cowardly pets comment.
Apparently, good reading comprension skills makes one 'clever' in the universe of TH. All you need to do is pay attention to the schematics, which tell you, step by step, what qualities of resources have the most impact on the power and quality of the components of enhance packs and of the final product.
The fact of the matter is, the devs never bothered to test to see what effect anything approaching a 'perfect' buff pack or suit of armor would have on the game. Enhance packs do three things, basically: make armor encumbrance a non issue, make spamming specials a non-issue, and turn every player intoa pre-nerf greater sludge panther or graul mauler. There is nothing but the highest end content my moncal toon, with nothing but carbines IV as a combat sklll (he's devoted every other SP to medic skills) cannot successfully take on when fully buffed and armored.
So, players are very overpowered now as tanks, and they're going up against weaker opposition that had already been nerfed in pub 5. When the combat rebalance hits, a lot of people are going to be VERY upset. Bad habits that have been aquired over the last seven months are going to burn people. I see this in my guild hunts now...last night we were on Dathomir, and we (two master TKs, a master commando, and a novice TK) cut through enraged rancors like they were durnis. It was beyond pathetic.

Or the nerf bat again. Just cause they say we are balanced for a Combat rebalance that they are still working on does not give me a feeling of confidence that we will be left alone. At least we are no longer the most hated profession.

You figure they had to even out the playfield between professions, but CH was chosen closer to the beginning, so they're suffered the combat rebalance the longest. A positive note to this is that they've also had all these months to re-adjust themselves to the environment. In the PVP scenario, they're gonna have the upper hand now since they've had time to adjust their strategies against impossible odds, that is if they haven't become frustrated and quit PVP altogether.Wokka-wokka
And the other combat professions will bo berserk even though we were balanced and the Nerfbat will swing again.

You are correct, this balance is comming way late, and the game is on cruches, that's why they will wait until JTL to do it, eveyone will be in space, but will be in for a surprise when they need cash to fix up their ship, they will get their weak buff, and look for a solo group to go out for enraged rancors. lol they wish.
Another reason... JTL will bring in a host of new players, who have not played the ground game, who do not yet know about buff's, armor, etc. They wont have the months of playing and habit forming that will need to be reworked, so it is a very logical time to put in a major overhaul of combat balance.
