I am still a couple K of CE away from Novice BH. I have been really trying to avoid "grinding" my way to Novice BH, instead I am just trying to play the game and enjoy it. But every now and then I have been doing the occasional Kima missions or Lang mission on Talus and Lok respectively to build up CE a little quicker.

Well, I tried doing a Tabage mission last night (first time I had been able to play for 2 days), and the formerly SLOW Tabages were suddenly nimble and quick! I know the patch addressed "cat like" MOBs, I guess I didn't realize Tabages were one of these.

After all that buildup, here is my question. Which other formerly "kite-able" MOBs have been sped up and are now un-kiteable? Obviously I know Tabages, but are Langs and Kimas now in the same boat? Just wondering.

Thanks!

So the days of kiting are done? Well, I can't say that I will miss it all that much since I got bored doing that too much. But I did like having the OPTION to do that if I wanted some quick XP Now that 40k CE is going to be really a grind for newbies!

I just started doing the 40k combat grind, hoping to get to BH eventually. I have a question about how kiting works. Is it enought to hit the mob with a DoT and then just stay alive reapplying until it bleeds to death? I have tried this, and never get any xp or harvesting rights to the creature. I have always stayed within range, sometimes even staying within 30m. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to hit it with a trap or a grenade too, in addition to the DoT?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You do realize that to get master scout and Novice BH you need.... TRAPPING skill?

use the slow style trap. I forget it's name like "pehcaline dart" or something. it's trappin III.

It wears out a little TOO fast but you just:

trap. special, special, trap. repeat till one or the other dies.

It still allows us to kite.

Now it'd be really cool if the duration and effectiveness depended on the size of thge creature. ForTorturs you'd need 3 traps. and Kimas the effects of one trap would last forever.

They're called "Wire Mesh Trap" . Lepenacinne makes them dizzy and confused or sometimes blind from what I've seen.

I never really cared much about traps but I'll try this to make kiting possible on some creatures. I'm really sad I missed out on the jax goldmine...aaaarrrggh.

no, there is another trapthere that slows them, not the wire mesh trap, but is described as a "gas cloud that causes the affected target to be slowed", works nice, but it can't be chain-used..have to let the affects wear off the creature first before using it again.

With this, it is alot easier to work up your trapping on say, banthas, where you can kite them around and just toss glow juice at them, as you don't have to wait for the affect to wear off until you use it again. I worked up from Trapping II to Trapping IV in the matter of about 2 hours doing it that way.

With Leviasquall, I start off with health shot 1 to pull with, then just shoot at it regularly, and work up 1300-1600 weapon xp, and get about 170ish scouting xp to finish up my hunting IV xp. Usually one bleed shot is all you need if you have a decent weapon (have an EE3 with 66-164, 3.8 speed, and a scout blaster with decent damage (cant remember) but has 1.8 speed).

Roalle you need to shoot them with a regular attack from a weapon, doesnt matter which one, whichever yer tryin to boost... at least once after the DoT.

Just wanted to get a clearing definition on kiting. Is it when you attack mob, run away and use a shot to make it stop pursuing you, and then repeating until it is dead?

No, it's when you run as fast or faster than the MOB and keep running and shooting...Like running with a kite.

Kiting is only an option when the MOB you are attacking is the same speed or slower than you. On Tatooine, about the only big game I know of that you can kite are Bantas. If there are others, please let me know, people!
