Thread: Curious: How long did it take the devs to fix the duel exploit when it hurt jedi?

The duel exploit used by jedi has been reported and posted time and time again for atleast 2 months now (maybe more)

I am curious how many months could the bh duel an jedi and kill him without jedi being able to attack back before it was fixed?

This is sad "boo hoo, jedi /duel me. now they no i have there mish. Waaaahhhhh!!!"

Truth be told, it's not impacting you. If you are actually playing the game and not trolling let me ask you this:

Why do you show up with "Master Bountyhunter" tag above your toons head and loiter around them when there's no one else around? Chances are if you're getting a /duel it's becasue you've spoiled your chances to surprise them.

*in all fairness, there needs to be a fix to remove any system msg which prevents a give away on the BH. There also needs to be a cool down of at least 10 seconds when issuing the /duel option. Players should not be able to spam /duel;/endduel at will.

Pick me !!

for as much as i try not to post here I am really getting tired of these types of posts...here's the deal if a jedi has seen you and has time to /duel you YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST THE ELEMENT OF SUPRISE!!!!!!! What do you think you would gain if this "exploit" (which i understand has been confirmed by higher powers as an exploit) was fixed...hmmm....think about that....oh yeah NOTHING. If this "exploit" is fixed it will just mean you will see a jedi running to a house (which they will have setup) as soon as they see a dot on their radar...so where now they /duel you to see if they can keep grinding in peace they will just run and cower in a house as soon as they see someone they would have used /duel on. Bottom line is they see you, whether or not they know for certain you have their mission they still see you and will act accordingly. If the dev's thought that this "exploit" was that important they would have fixed it...this is not at all like the exploit that some bh's were using before /duel was "fixed" that prevented the jedi from fighting back. Now I understand their are tef rules preventing jedi's from running to houses after they have been attacked but this is not a factor if a bh gives a jedi time to /duel them. And for those of you that want to say "a jedi did this to me when i shuttled to their location to find them" seriously if you know that jedi are doing this then shuttle to the closest city and then travel to their location on a speeder. Surely I will be flamed and to be honest I don't care, plenty of other bh's will read this and agree that this "exploit" is not a big deal and you 12 year old bh's that keep making these posts need to have your forum rights suspended...

I don't care if they do it when I have their mission. It's just a substitute for actually being prepared and most likely means they'll be easily defeated. It does annoy me when I constantly see "[Insert name of Jedi who doesn't want to fight but challenges me to a duel anyway] challenges you to a duel" then "[Jedi] cancels challenge" a second later.

Just ask yourself: Is the /duel command intended to show a Jedi if a BH has his mission or is it to *gasp* challenge someone to a duel? If you don't actually intend to fight the person you challenge, that would make it an exploit.

If jedi has time to duel end duel you have lost your surprise .....Ummm.... Nope. Here are just a few examples

1) Group of jedi. each may know you are there for someone but not sure who... see my prior post

2) Space port, grinding posts, etc. many possible hunters

3) Grind groups. i have been dueled / endueled many times looking for group (invite came after).

Ohh and I guess you never have travled to theed. or other places, where there are 6-10 jedi all dueling in public with BH around. (They know they are safe because have /dueled every new possible BH that shows)

I could list more, but feel this makes the point

There are also many other possibilites

Well in response to this quote "I would love to come up to a group who has no idea who i have ... just to watch the 5 or so other jedi take food stop grinding etc... all for nothing" I guess what you are saying is that its not that jedi using this exploit that offends you its your ability to grief them that is suffering...hmmm maybe you should refer to this:

By all means we want to encourage you to play your role, we just cannot allow that role-play to be done at another customer's expense.

Now stop talking...

your interpretation does not matter it may be a pain in the rump to see /duel /endduel but no exploit that person did not gainanything doing it.

I dismissed you because your post was utterly ridiculous. You made general aaumptions about what a jedi would do if this "confirmed exploit" was fixed, lol. Wth is that? Did you think before you posted?

o.O

Anarch took the time to reply to you though, something i'm surprised i just did myself.

so yeah...

And you don't see me crying, in fact i've been rather constructive for the most part. But when i see some muck come in here complaining about complainers well sheeeeeeeeet, i just can't help myself. Especially when you leave yourself wide open by posting something as....useful as what you did.
