Instead of just leaving Knockdown alone (or slighty fix the HAM cost and whatnot...), they ruin it...BUT, they feel bad, and want to add a /tank command.

Am I the only one that don't understand Holocron's logic?

Instead of going through the making of a totally new command, two weeks on internal testing (yeah right...)and then another two weeks on the Test Center (with no TKAs on...), they can fix it in two minutes by tweaking Knockdown.

  • Forget /tank

  • Fix Knockdown by: Reducing HAM cost. Take away the 30 second timer.

Two steps. Try to follow them.

Thank you.

Well said....

I am much better off with the ham cost. The 30 second timer ruins KD. Ruins it.

Its not the 30 second timer that ruins it.....

Its the 5 sec effectiveness

Not a good idea unless they remove KD from ranged professions. Here is why:

/tank will give melee place in group and ability to tank high level mobs better then a pet?(at-st, krayt dragon etc )

IMO that's exactly what original KD did only problem was that ranged professions had access to it. If they limit KD skill only to melee professions there wont be any need for /tank command since melee will be able to tank better then pet and will be wanted in groups.

Without30s timer on KDPvP is impossible vs.professions thathave access to 64m KD.(BH, Carbine etc).

Somebody is gathering of-age players for a class action law suit against SoE regarding this game. In the explanation they gave a list of reasons (not limited to) the poor customer support, the constant shifts in game mechanics that are virtually unnecessary and causing more problems with customer relations, (my favorite) the entire concept of the FS slot and Jedi Characters. It was mentioned they feel that the code was never in place (based partially on the TC notes) and how they felt that they were purposely strung along by deceitful advertising, updates, etc. Part of the list mentioned that they asked fora refund but they were just blown off (paraphrasing here). They mentioned the border-line insulting CSR help from the java chat where they had been called liars or simply ignored (same with the telephone calls-which for me hit close to home since that happened to me). They felt that "bugs" or glitches in the programming that left characters unplayable for days-weeks was unsatisfactory and not worth the money. They seemed to also be troubled by the fact that when they inquired about leaving their chars. frozen for a few months that they were given no gaurentees and felt that they were basically told that they have to pay for service ona glitch-ridden game in order to be assured their chars. would still exist and their time would not be wasted.

I found it quite interesting, but I asked about the EULA and they had a few pages devoted to analyzing the EULA and going over consumer rights and all the legal tap dance. I found it quite persuasive, but was afraid to put my signiature on it. It was at a multimedia/game-type nerd fair where they set up a bunch of games, etc. and this game had its own little booth where people could "experience" the game (I'm not sure how legal that is... but oh well). I suggest you check it if it gets put on the web... if for nothing more than an entertaining read. I thought I'd post it on here since part of it did deal with the FS slot/Jedi. It was more detailed.. just thought I'd throw it out there.. I also warn you to not put your name on it because it will no doubt be countersued if they were serious... no doubt there would be retribution.

I'm surprised they didn't do something like this for Shadowbane. The first 3 months of that game were even more bug ridden than SWG. Of course Ubisoft/Wolfpack didn't lie to it's customers about any of the major game mechanics.

Thnx monkey you just made my day at work easier. Id louv to see them actually take SOE to court(alhtough i dont feel they will win). Just beacuse then soe would have to do a lot of exaplaining publicly. This MMO really is any worse than most of the bug ones(imho its launch was near as bad as most, and the balance is coming along just like the rest) if you get anymore knews on this im really intersted. or hey send an email to wired news about this i bet they would love to write a story on this.

Customer Support issues and in-game character bugs/issues were handled very poorly, in my opinion. But I'm not sure if making a lawsuit out of it is the right way to go. And as far as Jedi goes, they just should have been more specific about becoming one instead of making it some big marketing scheme. Pretty low if you ask me. But business is business I guess. SOE is all about the $$$. (even though I'm sure the developers aren't)

i liked the early days of MMO's like Nexus where everything was free until they worked out all the gaming issue's. Then you cant complain about a game if its free.

They were also threatened with a lawsuit if my memory serves me correctly.. On some level I would love for the message to be sent that the majority of their playerbase is unhappy (as most complaints actually are heard in game compared to here which is a minority of people).

I just thought it would be interesting to post about this as it was ironic they were letting people "experience the epic" (exact words) and at the same time trying to get support for a law suit. Probably the same people that went in for the class-action law suit against the fast food companies though. Anyway, just be careful about what you put your name on...

They wouldn't have enough money to take on SOE.

Any threats of a lawsuit over a game are childish. If these players are still playing the game it's obviously not that horrible of a game. They can't actually prove any of their claims regarding the FS code since they're unfounded and no court would order SOE to release their code to the public.

Besides, who's going to pay for a lawyer? A class-action lawsuit would be incredibly expensive, and lawyers do not work pro bono anymore, especially not on a case that would most likely be considered friviolous and thrown out of court. 99.99999% of the people signing such a petition would not actually want to have any real-life association with it and would be unlikely to donate any funding.
