So....I find a mark who's sitting inside a player city cantina. First I was thinking tojust drophis mission and go away. But it appears my presence is greatly disturbing this jedi and his friends, so I stay just for fun. Obviosly they want to go hunting or something like thatbut can't as long as I'm there.
They keep sending me tells such as "gimme one, just ONE reason why he should come out and lose his hard earned exp to you". But I just tell them, if he isn't going to come out thenwhy is he so worried about me. I usually don't talk to my marks unless they start talking to me.
I move a bit further from the house to a town nearbyand send a couple of seekers after him and from the waypoints I can see he has come out, but when he sees me coming he runs back inside, send me a tell "do you think I'm stupid?". After thishe logs out and I go do other things in the meanwhile but he keeps sending me tells with his alt so I let him think I'm still stalking him.
Later he logs back in and I go check him out but it looks like he's still inside. After this mission has been going forabout 5-6 hours he makes me an offer: he pays me his bounty and gives me a fight as long as I won't death blow him. I accept the offer but only because I know this is the only way to make him come outside.
So I do what most of us would probably do, I fight and death blow him anyway, despite the deal we made. His friends say they are writing tickets to csr and get me banned for doing this. As they claim, someone else got perma banned for doing the same for 3 hours....so should I be worried?
What I understand the "crime" here was that I was "camping" my mark and made a deal but broke it. I think he was pretty naive to beleive a BH whos holding his mission will not death blow if given change to do so. And I felt Ihad deserved right to complete my jobafter doing same mission for 6 hours.
His friends also said that no other BH would agree with me on this (that its OK to do this),so just thought I'd see ifthis iscorrect. So what do you guys think?

If you took the money then maybe, if you didnt take the money then I would say no way. Verbal contracts have never held up in this game before.

I'm not an expert as to what CSRs would do, but I think this is perfectly fine. After all we are supposed to be roleplaying, and you did just that, you are a bounty hunter and you completed your mission. If this is a bannable offense I would be surprised, it was the nieveness of the player that he tried to buy you off. He was taking a risk and he should have known that. Thats part of being a Jedi if he doesnt like it he should stop being a Jedi that simple.

Normally I wouldn't wait that long but I was just on a particularly good mood and answering all those tells was fun.

Officially speaking? You'd have to ask a CSR. Unofficially? Given the circumstances I would also do it. Unlike the previous thread that just came up about this (a few pages back, called "morals issue") It wasn't a simple "oh you're here for me? heres some money, will you please not kill me?" agreement, he and his friends were giving you crap. As I said, no idea if its bannable officially, but if you do walk away from this (don't see why?) if they do this I'd immediately send them a tell stating you'll be on your merry way if he pays at LEAST what hes worth, otherwise you have nothing better to do as the lowest common denominator of society (I've said that a few times, gotten some interesting responses

against rules to offer a service for credits, take credits and not give the service...if you killed him after taking his money you violated your "contract." personally i think he should have made you drop the mission before coming out and just dueled you, so its partly his fault for not thinking

It was his fault for trusting someone that was paid to kill him. I think you should be fine. His loss, and he learned something, I bet he will never trust another BH, and nor should he...we aren't in game to be friends with Jedi, we are in game to kill them for money. And that's exactly what you did...you just got double the money.
