Thread: Sneaking up on Jedi?????

I hear a lot of people talking about sneaking up on Jedi, how is this possible. Everytime I shuttle to a city after my mark, even if he is 500m away from the shuttle port, I get /tells asking who I'm after/ who I'm hunting. I haven't even started to move towards my mark and this starts. Do jedi have people watching the shuttle ports or something.

The only time I can sneak up on a Jedi is if he is in Theed or another big city full of people.

Let me guess: you shuttle into a city run for a guild you don't belong to, wearing BH armor, carrying a heavy lightning rifle or a high-capacity scatter pistol, buff'ed to the nines with doc buffs, food and drink, and you expect people to think you're there to shop?

Don't tell me, don't tell me: you're also not "anonymous" and you wear a BH title under your name?

Stepping off the shuttle in a strange city, looking as if you're about to cause trouble for someone, is not very subtle, and if that city/guild has Jedi, they're going to /ex and /tar you. In the current game system, it well behooves a Jedi to be more than a little paranoid.

Also, if your mark is out hunting and they have 1/2 a brain (some don't actually) They will be looking at any blue dot that comes on their radar.

Pretty much can't sneak up on anyone due to the radar, unless you are in a big city with a lot of people around, or hunting around Mining Outpost on Dant, there are always people running around there, too hard to target everyone.

Yeah, when ever I shuttle to a city, I always have on pants and a black vest with no food buffs or anything. I equip when I'm ready to use it. My tag also says, "Emergency Technician." It's best to blend in with the noobs if possible. There are ways around it. Also, some recomend not shuttling into the city your jedi is in.

If they're out hunting, they're looking at ANY dot on the radar, and checking it...even purple ones.

Then again, there are the ones that don't care if you come up to them, because they think they've got the skills and the experience to deal with any BH who approaches them.

Then of course there are the ones with no brains. The 11 year olds. Kill them. You have my blessing as a force wielder to do so.

If you shuttle into a guild city, your better off assuming that you were seen and the word is already out. I live in a reasonably low traffic city, and every stranger that comes into town usually gets a once over bya crafter, merchant, entertainer or anyone else who just happens to be in town. Just because you don't see anyone, doesn't mean that someone in their house didn't see you and get your name from radar. They may not say someting to you, but if MBH is in your bio the word is out on TS.I propably know your therebefore you finish loading from your shuttle trip. I alsomay know if your buffed, what armor & weapons your you have equip'd, and what foods & spiceyou've got going, what professions you've masteredand what tag your weaing; all before you've figured out which way off the shuttle pad.

If your mark is outside of town, your best bet is NOT to shuttle into town before going after him.Shuttle to another nearby city and drive the rest of the way without going near the local city. If your mark is in his town, you might shuttle in, but if you do make it look like you already know where your going.Hit thevendor mall for some shopping orbring afew (non BH) friendsto go run some destroy missions.Anything you might normaly do when your not hunting Jedi that might bring youto a strange town will help to make you look like another harmless passer-by. It may take a bit of time, but your mark will lower his guard toward you if you look like you have a reason to be there.

EMT might not be your best bet. Any of the CM lines are a big flag to me, with BH/CM being the fotm. Assuming you have one line in a ranged prof, try that one or no tag at all.

Very true, thanks for correcting, I just use blue as a reference to any dot on the radar...

yup impossible to sneak up on a jedi in the open....

'Radar' IMHO is the jedis Alpha strike LOL

Another fun thing to do walk right up to your mark unbuffed with your title up all ready to fight. Then say "Drat I forgot my gun wait right there.....I'll be back" retreat to 1k away and keep track with droid see how long til they start moving again heh then ya go get rebuffed after 30 mins by then a normal person will have forgotten all about you dart in and kill them say "Thats for not waiting"....

It is possible, and I have done it. It takes a lot of patients. What I tend to do is drive to my Jedi's location from a starport all the while tracking them. If I see them going towards or at a starport I set a trap with a bomb droid and wait around near the starshipterminals... although I've never actually tried this it would be what I would do. If they stay in the same place I assume they are in a house, if they move I assume they are grinding. Note that I always wearcivilian clothingand never armour or weapons. When I need my armour orweapons I have a macro that instantly equips them within 2 seconds.

If they are in a house I get to around 500 meters and store my swoop and run till 250 meters. At 250 I send out a few droids on 'Track' andI hit my equip macro and unequip my rifle (Faster crawling). I get down and cover up. I use travel biscuits to speed it up. You cannot equip armour or send out droids while covered. Droids break it and armour is non-transferable. Takes me about 5 minutes to crawl in on flat land and 8 on hilly land. I get a position about 70 meters away from the house and pull out my gun. I then wait.I usualy watch TV or listen to a CD while glancing back and forth to the top right hand corner (I have a targeting macro, so I see thier name in the corner). When they come out from there house, and they usualy do within 1-2 hours, I use underhand shot and snipershot and begin to blast away.

If they are grinding I track them until I notice they start a new lair. I then get to about 200 meters, equip, send droidsand cover. Again I crawl in. Once I am in range its usualy the same deal as the house. I did one last night. A very unsuspecting Jedi named Alomi was grinding in a group. I got close enough to shoot her and watched to see how oftern she healed and how much action she had and so on. She eventualy got to about 500 health and I hit underhand shot and snipershot and she was incapped. After that I just needed to incap her again because I missed the DB.

Any way, point is if you have the patients you can catch Jedi very unaware. Good luck with your sneakyness in future.

Here is something I have been trying lately , this is my previous post on the matter in it's entirety:

have been developing a new technique (new for me not saying it's new for other BHs) thatI would like to share.

Obviously if you have rifles in your temp it's not for you. This assumes Pistol and MCM. This also assumes lair grinding out on Dantooine or similar activity.

It gives up scouting and alpha strike for sheer unbalanced surprise (unbalanced because the surprise might be yours). It's a bit Indiana Jones and here is how it works:

I stop 600M from my target. I eat my foods, start my duelist macro and hop back on bike. I bring up map , then ride in at full speed , zeroing on the group , I am now flying in at full speed and time the "store" of the bike at the right moment. If done correctly you end up in a full sprint just a few meters from the Jedi. The Jedi has zero preparation time, he might also be aggrod with lair creatures. Start with a KD to add to the surprise and them follow up with ADV crit, and torso, as Jedi gets up start laying states, paralyze, fire, poison ext. It's worked the lastfew times i have tried it with full temps .

Have fun if you try it. I also have done plenty of hunting and stalking so I don't want to get cirtizied for not doing it, just tyring something new that coincidentlaly has worked to perfection twice. The first time the Jedi had the lair aggrod and he did not have time to get away, the second time was against a full temp that has cloak and he had not time to use it as I used KD, stopping shot etc and stayed near him the whole time. I am convinced that the sheer speed of the attack produced the victories.
