Macro'ing Reference:

Top Row Buttons 1-12=00-11 for macro'ing purposes.

Bottom Row Buttons 13-24 = 12-24 for macro'ing purposes.

Example: /ui action toolbarSlot00 This would activate your first button in the top row.

An alternative means of looping (assuggested in one of the replies )instead ofusing the /ui action toolbarSlot[nn] is to use the command

/macro [NameOfMacro]; This will allow you to keep a button in the bar free.

Example: /macro AutoTarget;

Basic Targetting Macro

This macro is useful if you have the marks name. I use it as an area "search" as well as a means of keeping them targeted during a battle where many other creatures and players are around. The range is approximately 500m ( /examine also works at this range and remains active until the target moves beyond approx 725-750m ).

Name: AutoTarget

Icon: Whatever you want to use. Select one.

/target [NameOfMark];

/pause 2;

/ui action toolbarSlot[ButtonNumber];

Basic Targetting Macro with Automatic Decling for those /offerride Exploiters

Name: AutoTargetWithDeclineRide

Icon: Whatever you want to use. Select one.

/target [NameOfMark];

/decline;

/pause 2;

/ui action toolbarSlot[ButtonNumber];

Checking Online Status++

I use this macro to determine the mark's online status. It has the potential to let me know if they are aware of me as a hunter and to pick up a waypoint to their precise location if they are foolish enough to list me as a friend. /FindFriend will give you a waypoint if the mark has you listed on their friends page. If they are online the command will return a waypoint or "Unable to locate ". If they are offline it will return absolutely nothing. I use this over /addfriend because I don't want them to be able to /findfriend me as a means of determining my location or the fact that I'm hunting them.

Name: BHFindFriend

Icon: Whatever you want to use. Select one.

/findf [NameOfMark];

/pause 60;

/ui action toolbarSlot[ButtonNumber];

Multi-use Space Bar [Dismount/Board Transport/Death Blow/Target Mark]

I keep this macro bound to my space bar which you can setup under Custom in Keymapping. I use this to rapidly exit my vehicle, target my mark, deathblow my mark and board transports.

Name: BHDoManyThings

Icon: Whatever you want to use. Select one.

/target [NameOfMark];

/deathblow;

/dismount;

/bo tran;

Hunting a Mark on Kashyyyk / Working the System

Finding the Area: Theory

Fact: There is one Auction channel for every planet in SWG except Kashyyyk.

Fact: Kashyyyk has one Auction channel for every zone( Rryatt Trail, Myydril Caverns, Mainland, etc ).

If you could get the name of people in a particular zone then that would be grand right? Well you can. Fact.

Finding the Area: How-to an example

/chatroom query swg.[ServerName].naboo.named.auction

This command will return "Channel Listing Complete" which means the list of people has been updated.

/chatroom info swg.[ServerName].naboo.named.auction

This command will return the list of names of everyone on Naboo

An Example Using LOWCA as the Server

Update The List : Do it every time before displaying the list or it won't be current.

/chatroom query swg.lowca.kashyyyk_rryatt_trail.named.auction

Display the List

/chatroom info swg.lowca.kashyyyk_rryatt_trail.named.auction

For simplicity you may wish to use one of the planets as your first test. Often people misspell the kashyyykian names and then think it doesn't work. So try Talus or

something first. Do NOT chain the commands together in a macro. You must give it a second on the query aspect.

You can do this for every planet and the various zones on Kashyyyk. Here's the list of channel names

swg.[ServerName].corellia.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].dathomir.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].dantooine.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].endor.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].kashyyyk_main.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].kashyyyk_dead_forest.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].kashyyyk_pob_dungeons.named.auction This is the Myydil Caverns

swg.[ServerName].kashyyyk_rryatt_trail.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].lok.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].naboo.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].rori.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].talus.named.auction

swg.[ServerName].yavin4.named.auction

Using /WHO and the Myydril Cavern's and Rryatt Trail

Some Jedi forget to uncheck the "Make my character searchable" option. As a result if you are occupying the same zone as them you can type /who and get a listing of everyone in the area. This is particularly useful on Kashyyyk while attempting to narrow down which instances a mark might be in. Used in conjuction with the previous tip you can literally build a list of who all is in the zone and start narrowing your list. Ever played Clue? *chuckles* Also, remember people are creatures of habit and often run and hunt with the same groups or with their guildies so pay attention to this information.

MyydrilCaverns: There are 10 instances. Using /who in any one of them returns the list for ALL of them.

Rryatt Trail: There are 6 instances. If you use a /who in an even numbered instance it returns the names for ALL EVEN NUMBERED instances. If you use a /who in an odd numbered instance it returns the names for ALL ODD NUMBERED instances.

Plain Old Know How and Luck

Rryatt Trail: Jedi are normally on the Web Weaver Path in instances 4 or 5 and grinding at the wookiee camp ( often AFK using macro's ). At this same location the edge of the bridge and the area between the left most bridges is an exploitable area where you do not have line-of-sight and cannot attack or be attacked. If they aren't afk you can count on them using it to escape. You can also use the commmand /unstick to get a free ride back to the gate. If you see Jedi standing in the hutt to the left when first entering Rryatt Trail instance they are most likely afk and have been killed while using afk grinding macro's inside the trail. Please kill them

Vehicles & Mounts: Another technique that I use is to examine all vehicles and mounts left lying around. Since it reveals the owners name it might give you a clue to the location of your mark. Plus, if you get really lucky, you'll get to destroy their means of escape.

Houses & Guild Halls: Don't assume your mark is safe inside a structure. On more than one occassion I've been able to dismount outside a guild hall and then march right inside and lay my mark out at point blank range.

Overhead Map and Radar: Your overhead map has a diagnal range of ~512m ( zoomed out, hold down CTRL+SHIFT and use your mouse wheel to zoom the overhead map ),512m is also the functional limit of your radar's range.I suggest you keep them at this resolution when hunting outdoors, but be mindful that your prey can detect you as well at 512m if their configured for it. Always good to stop 1km away and verify through your seekers that your mark is in motion prior to the assault.

How Jedi Will Exploit to Escape You

1. They will have friends in vehicles follow you constantly spamming /offerride which cause a ton of message boxes to pop up on your computer and literally exhaust your systems resources in order to lag you to the point that you cannot defend yourself allowing their friends to prevail or escape. The use of the AutoTarget macro mentioned above can help but you'd still be wise to just leave and report them.

2. They will use the line-of-sight bugs on the Rryatt Trail to prevent you from being able to attack them.

3. They will /duel you to reveal if they are your mark. My guess is that if you've been at hunting a while you've had a few Jedi /duel you and then suddenly /endduel you. They were sending out the ol ping to see if you had their mission.

4. They will /invite you ( however this only a minor annoyance as they can only do it once ). Turn on Auto Reject Group Invites in your Options.

Templates I've Used and Their Effectiveness

I have a couple force sensitive boxes so these won't be entirely applicable to you.

MBH + MPistoleer + CM 2-0-0-0

This may have been the most effective. Definitely an effective combination for a quick strike. My motto was if I can't kill em before I use up a single line of action then they will likely escape. The weakness of this combination was range. I often had to switch to my less effective Carbine or Rifle in order to knock em off their vehicles. But overall I really liked it.

MBH + MCM + Carbineer 0-2-0-0

This is close to my current template ( I'm in the process of migrating to pistols ). I've taken down several 200+ Jedi using this template but its extremely slow compared to the pistoleer combo ( literally fought for 20-30 minutes ). The most effective aspects of MCM are Tranquilize ( Kills their mind regen ) and Deuterium Toss ( a burning DoT ), and healing of course. I'm not yet willing to say this is equal or better than the pistoleer combo.

MBH + MCommando + Some other stuff I no longer recall

What I thought sounded like a cool idea, sucked in practice. The fact that most of the commando related weaponry is area-of-effect made this impractical. Last thing you need is a couple critters on you while you're trying to take down your mark. I do NOT recommend this setup.

PvP and Mission Difficulty

It has been my experience that the abilities of the mark only make up about 50% of their effectiveness. Its the player behind the toon that makes the difference. 70% of the time they will run. Its the 30% you have to watch out for. I've creamed fulled templates and been run off by a 92k mission ( TK & Doc are difficult to overcome ). Use your advantages wisely!

These are some of the tricks in my bag. I don't presume to bel337, but do wish to help my fellow hunters any way I can.Ionly hopemy experienceswill help you find triumph over your prey. Good hunting to you!

Awesome work. The auction chat idea is a new one for me. Again, I say awesome. Now, if we can just the name return functionality restored to our seekers on Kashyyyk we can begin hunting again instead of just meandering around Kashyyyk looking for our prey. The thing about /who working off the parity of the instances is good too. I was always confused by that.

Great ideas, though some of the tips here have become useless with Publish 20 (I wish I had known about this chatroom query before...).

Thanks for the ideas !

With regard to Publish 20 ( the ridiculous illogical thing that it is ), you are correct that this information is no where near as useful. However, I'm one of those psycho-obsessive hunters sooo....the listing is useful to me still for two reasons.

1. If my mark is on Kashyyyk I automatically assume they are on the Rryatt Trail. Based on this assumption I write down the list of players on the trail and /log it. I log it to compare later should my mark suddenly go offline. At which point I do another /chatroom query & info so I can compare and contrast to narrow down my mark. I also use it as a list of possibles and check each off as I eliminate possibilities. The list becomes increasingly useful the longer you are online hunting as rarely do the Jedi move around ( they seem to be lazy and creatures of habit ).

2. If I was fortunate enough to get a name prior to them heading to Kashyyyk. Unlikely but possible.

I was loath to share the query/info methodology for fear of its removal. I'm sure you understand

oooooh thanks for the exploit escape tips. i never knew about any of these.

no for serious. Never would use, never will use. I run away from a BH just long enough to eat what i need and turn back to fight, win or lose.

dunno about putting exploits in a thread. I only had heard of one of these before. May be for some others is the same and they not as fair-minded as me

... now all I need is an online mark on Kash. But that's an ace tip and is totally going into my repertoire. Thanks for sharing!

edit: Not tested it yet, but if you know the name of your mark, you should be able to add his name to chat colourization in options. So when the list scrolls by (using it on, say, Dantooine) it should be fairly easy to spot our prey.
