Thread: And the REASON that Jedi are back on Kashyyyk......

Apparently, the new published changed the dungeon cloning coding. Now when a player dies in the Rryatt Trail, they can clone at the location where they died.

The obvious implication is that even if we DO track down the Jedi in the trail and kill them, they will clone right where they died and make up the force xp debt in about an hour or two.

It's not terribly difficult to create the cloning macro, and then jam something into your ENTER key to make it stick, so it will auto clone you when the box appears....

So I suppose this is now a 100% AFK and quick path from newly minted padawan to full template.

That's a valid point. It really makes no sense why this would have been intentionally. My asumption is they had to recode the clonning process due to the infusion of code from the expansion that had caused the Kashyyyk cloning system to get broke. In this "fix, they had inadvertantly missed the code which is intended to relocate the player to a predesignated cloning location - very likely it wasn't activated and had been overlooked.

and this affects you how? So what if players choose to level at a static spawn afk? Its not Just Jedi that AFK grind...Ever ground survey xp, I have mastered artisan on many characters and never did survey atk...just too long and boring. You are not the Jedi police, xp loss is in place so a Jedi and his BH friend(alt) could not exploit to make millions of credits, or equally popular back in the day level investigation in a few hours(this doesnt work anymore because you need MBH for jedi missions).

So mind your own business...If your mark is on Kash you got an easy kill, take your money and go on your way...not need to worry about how other players are leveling their characters. Or in otherwords, I will not tell you how to play and expext the same in return.

This post was in response to the numerous posts on this board about the Jedi being on Kashyyyk again. I thought of a reason why, and it is sound. I was merely letting the community know.

However, it does raise vaild concerns that with the removal of named missions from the terminals, Jedi can now grind 100% AFK all the time at the Rryatt Trail with very little or no worry of BH interferance.

The situation prior to Publish 24 was such that when a Jedi was killed while AFK, they cloned at the "top" of the Rryatt Trail, and hence lost XP, and could not continue to grind until they returned. Now, post Publish 24 they will clone where they die, and continue grinding as if nothing ever happened.

Your example of artisan grinding really has nothing to do with this topic. I suggest that if you have a concern or would like to voice you opinion that your grind too a long time, that you do so in the appropriate artisan forum.

Moron, I was not complaining about survey xp, I was offering an example of another proffession afk grinding. I have seen BH's afk grinding there as well, right along side of the Jedi that they are supposed to hate, you will also see doctors/medics in training.
The point is tons of people are going to take advantage of the opportunity to afk grind knowing that they will continue to get xp even if they die. Report the bug and move on. My point is that the game and the world would be a much better place if everyone didnt pay so much attention to what the other guy was doing and just worried about themselves.

The difference it makes to me, is that this particular method is a free ride for any player who wants to do it. It's not right, and should not be allowed to continue. Every developer and CSR post I have seen on this issue has been against AFK grinding/playing. Why should this be allowed to continue?

Of course this ties into another thread about AFK in general, and how the AFK trigger needs to change from a macro being able to trigger it, to a physical keystroke or mouse movement.Every problem with AFK'ers would be solved from Jedi house sitting "issues" to AFK spammers to players grinding AFK at the Rryatt Trail.

Well maybe if the "Challenge" of becoming Jedi wasn't to endure a painfully boring grind to become Jedi people would not do this.

I think AFK grinding stinks. Why would anyone want to play a game AFK? I don't see the point.

If you AFK grind because working for the experience ATK is boring then maybe this game is not for you.

It's like being asleep but still learning.

But in the end, if the game lets you do it then I say sure, go for it.

Just don'tcomplainto a BH who killed you in some cheap manner when you can grind out your entire temp in 4hrs or however long it takes.

Thats my opinion.

You guys are funny... AFK grinding... Humm sure it is wrong, But if u gonna punish Jedi, You Should Punish Entertainers/Crafters and everyone else who uses macros to grind The problem is That There are 2 Types of Bounty Hunters:

1st: The True BH, The one who only cares About the Money, They Hunt, They kill and They get Paid.

2nd: The Looser, who Can Not/ or Did Not, Unlock Their Jedi, because They Do not want to grind etc... Those are hunting Just to grief Players(xp loss anyone??)

True Fact: 95% of The Bounty hunters Are Jedi/Or are gridding to Become One Remember Its Just a game people, Go out have fun, and Mind your own business.
