Thread: Shouldnt DOTs make cloak useless?

I tossed both fire and poison and i didnt get it to break the cloak. what the deal?

NOthing 'breaks' cloak, not even if you AE or bombdoird (both of which do dmg). Be ready for cloak to be a part of about every jedi template IMO, it awards instant safety w/zero drawbacks. I got reported for killing someone cloaked using AE, the jedi then decided to do it to someone else (using BH alt) and got a serious a$$ chewing by a csr, and a real stern warning.


What we need to push for is having a state, ie, like blind, to prevent them from cloaking, cause as it stands now all they have to do it hit that specail and they are good to go.

Aye. Take awaythe PowersJedionly defense to roots, paralyze, dazesandinsane ranges. Scream for more nerfs thats what this game needs for everybody.

Where was I screaming.......the ability to hit a single special and be PROMISED not to be able to be attacked is not right. It does not fail like feign death can, it cant be interupted, it has no wind up timer. Now im screaming a little.


Oh and paralize, root, kd, snare etc, can be blocked and can miss.....this is a 100% no questions asked way to not be attacked and does not fit into what the 'cu' is about IMO. And remember this is just my opinion. I was not asking for a 'nerf' I was asking for a conterbalance And not like it is easy to land blind, and last Ichecked it could be removed with a push of a button as well. Does not sound all to unfair if you ask me.

The drawback of cloak is the force cost and the fact you cant do nothing but flee and its a powers only template skill really.

Not all Jedi have healstates in their template. Only button I have is KD recovery. Many ways a BH can attack at moments when a Jedi cannot use this skill.


You cannot cloak if you are within 20m of any players or npc's. Its the BH's job to hunt and assisinate the Jedi. You have many many tools at your disposal to do so.


My template for over a year now = mls mpowers. That adds up to a whopping 0 ranged defense, 0 melee defense. No state heals or recovery buttons (other than kd)


Take away cloak and root me Im just a 3 shot punching bag with heal timers.

Then in the same skill box that you get cloak x4xx powers, you get blind recovery as well to counter our counter. And I have watched marks cloak as a MCH kimo is pounding on a jedi, I take it that is not working as intended? I took along a MBH/MCH specially for this mark hoping that the kimo would prevent cloak...it did not...

Cloak should work the same way it did in Jedi Outcast.


One level of cloak only works vs: 1 player. Second works against players within 40m at the start of cloak. 3rd level cloak works with all players in 100m, final cloak works the way it does now.


Or something along those lines.


I'm only even moaning about cloak because I keep getting it used to agrothings all over me when I go grinding on Kash Jedi monopolising a grind spot, how nice.

So, uh, cloak is a non-combat skill. You can't attack while cloaked, or your cloak breaks. I can guarantee you that you'll never lose a fight to a Jedi who remains cloaked. Why in the world would a counter need to be created against such a skill?

Its sort of ironic, really, when you think about it. All the yelling and screaming in the community about folks seeing too many Jedi running around, and yet when they use an ability that makes them invisible, you want it nerfed.

If you set a Jedi on fire, shouldn't you just be able to follow the black smoke?


As originally described, I believe that cloak WAS supposed to break on damage.

there is no blind recovery in the jedi skill trees. the MCH part, forcerun1?2? all it takes is 21m and it coulda been lag that looked like the kinmo was right on top of him
