Thread: Oh, so you want to call bounty hunters scum, do you?

Lots of people love to call BHs "scum" because of that line in TESB. Well, I think theres a couple things both rebels and imperials alike should know before referring to BHs as scum:


*Rebels: Rebels are also called "scum" in the movies. If you want to accept one quote from the movies as a basis for calling BHs "scum", you also have to accept the other quotes from the movies, including the ones in which rebels are called "scum", at least, unless your a hypocrite, in which case you've insulted yourself either way. Call BHs "scum" becuase their called that in the movies and your also "scum" because your called that in the movies.


*Imperials: The Empire's army is made up of the clones of "scum". By calling BHs "scum", even though an Imp called them that in TESB, your also insulting your Empire, as its army comes from "scum", and that means if you RP a ST your RPing a "scum" army, and if you dont, your still "scum" becuase you've chosen to affiliate yourself with it.


*Nuetrals: Your in the clear... this time...

in my opinion nuetrals are the biggest scum becase they dont do any pvp unless they are bh's so i think that everyone should have to be reb or imp or dead...haha not really but kinda

I think players who think others are scum for not doing PvP are the true scum.

I'm not scum. I'm a servant of the people. I killed a Jedi over the weekend who had murdered a farming family on Naboo!


The cops couldn't catch him, but I did. He's taking a dirt nap now; maybe his clone will be a little better behaved.

Yes but the guy that gave you the mission and wrote the spiel about the farm was also BH scum.

Personally I don't mind being called scum - I kill settlers and miners for fun (6 credits a time). Thats my definition of scum

If I recall correctly, most of the Empire's troopers aren't clones because hiring people was cheaper than making clones. Probably because they age twice as fast as a normal being. So technically, only some of the Empire is scum.

your right about the cloning, officially it's outlawed, although the emporer has several clones of himself.


however, imperials do stink, and they are cowardly.

Here is the official word on the STs and clones from GL himself in a recent interview:



"The idea is that over time, there were new clone strains introduced, and then they even conscripted guys to be Storm Troopers. So it's not just purely clones: It started out as clones, but then it got diluted over the years as they found out they could shanghai guys [more cheaply] than they could build clones."

So, as was mentioned, STs are composed of clones(of various strains) as well as conscripts. Thats also supported in this very game, as an Imp officer in Bestin gives a mission to go kill the Death Watch Overlord and get a sample of his blood so they can use it to clone a new batch of STs.


Still, w/ even part of the Empire being made up of "scum", the OP still makes the same point.
