Thread: What to do?
Turning to the CH community once again for advice. I enjoy this profession so much I really like my little buddies so here is my question. I have not been a CH for long and only have Novice CH right now. I am almost ready to train my 1st block. So, with the new proposed changes to CH which branch should I learn first? I have a mountain dew back and was wondering if I am going to lose him after the patch. My friend has a baby grand wrix and was wondering the same. We tamed and captured these pets our selves not big fans of buying pets we like to reap the benefits of our own skills. Will we need to learn taming first to insure that we will not lose our pets? Or should we go another one of the branches. Thanks for any advice you can give. This board is always so helpful and I often turn to these boards for great advice.

I trained empathy 1, just so I could get Trick1. That way I could name my pets, and I could get them to stop saying "Kanga Play?!?!"
Thanks Clade, any info on whether or not we will lose access to our pets?

I believe novice will allow up to CL15, while taming 1 will allow up to CL 25. As both those are 20ish I think, you'll probably need Taming 1. The dilemma for you is that you won't be able to heal your pets mind damage until you get empathy 1.
Thanks Blackluck, Thats what I was afraid of I was hoping to get Empathy I but dont really want to give up my buddy so I think I will be forced to go Taming I instead. Can anyone else comfirm this? Also if we have pets higher then our new taming level cap with they just disappear on us? Or will they stay in the datapad till that time we can pull them out?

My question is, what should I do:
a) Don't get Master Pistoleer and Master Pistol Special Abilities
b) Don't get Torso Shot (how good is it, anyone?)
c) Don't worry about Novice Medic and Stimpacks
How social are you? If you were a Creature Handler as well I'd say you absolutely needed stimpacks, but as a pure combat guy you'd be fine just making friends with some combat medics, doc's, etc.
If you don't like grouping and plan on being self sufficient, then I'd probably do your choice (a)
ok heres my plan.
Master Brawler and master Swordsman. Now i can be a master of one more thing. Wat should it be. Thinkin Ch or rifleman. I dont know help me lol.
Ultimately I'm going for TKM and Master Medic. I *do not* want to be a Doctor, but I would like to heal myself. I also have Exploration 4 thrown in for the handiness of it. But I'm not sure what else to do with my character. At the moment I am a 3-3-2-4 CH, but I'm slowly growing aggrovated with it and I can't see myself sticking with it much longer.
My first instinct was getting the Pistol Technique 4 line in Pistoleer, since I'm already halfway to 4 now anyway. That way I wont be completely useless in ranged combat. My other thought was Master Brawler, just for the Intimidate 2 and Berserk 2.
Any thoughts?
At this moment on live, master brawler isn't worth it. Are you thinking PvP or PvE?
Ranged; pistol is still the best choice IMO. With 50-something points you should be able to get a couple decent skills.
For healing you might be able todo combat medic a bit.Get some area heal ability, or get some poison/ disease ability... just a thought to screw around with.
I hear ranger is a good thing to take up. Big camps take awahile to level up to but they are kinda cool.
If you really don't have anything to do, go be a musician or a dancer. If you group alot they'll like you for it.
what would u lot recommend when it comes to your extra points here are the options
i think novice medic is a given
so that leaves 18 SP
so its either 3/0/0/0 in pistoler for the dodge abiltity
0/0/3/0 for the defences in KD and blind and other things like that
0/0/3/0 in carbine ""
or i know this is a long shot but 0/0/3/0 in rifleman for the blocking ability
plzzz help
