Thread: TEMPLATE HELP PLEASE

I have been constantly been thinking about a PvP template. I was thinking and I have found two possible templates. Tell me what you think would be better for PvP. I would like the meditate ability but instant disease and poison healing would be great. Well here they are.


Choice 1 : Master Swordsman, Master Brawler, Doctor 4040


Choice 2 : Master Swordsman, Master Brawler, TKA 4300, Fencer 4400, and Novice Medic


Tell me what you think!

Personally I think master brawler is a waste.

I think the skill points could be more wisely spent.

PVP template I thunk'd up the other day (all i do is pvp...)


Novice Medic


Master Swords

TK 4004

fencer 4030

Pistols 0040


This is solid for PVP. You get huge stun defense, so you're much harder to hit. Ranged Mitigation 2 for defense versus rifles and geo blasters. (note, a lot ofmelee PVPers could benefit from this)You won't be Kd'd easily AT ALL. and your defense VS states will be amazing. over 100 stun, and I think over 100 on dizzy and intimdate or blind. The stun defense is your best friend really, since being stunned is a how a PVPer will die if its not due to stupid DOTS.


This template however is only for people who want to use swords as their only offense. 250 skill points taken up by this. hehe

Please help with advice.


Im currently Master riflemen and creating a character that would be effective in PVP combat. I want to go CM to be able to apply poisions and disease but on the same han want some doc skills to be able to cure poison and disease.


Template would have to look something like this i think:


Master Riflemen


CM 4304


Doctor 4000



1. Would this work


2. What strength could i exspect from poision and disease at 4304


3. What are my chances of healing disease and poison at doctor 4000



Thanx anyone for the fast reply. I already started grinding CM hehe

Yes and no. There are serveral factors when doing combat medic.
#1: Combat Medic Effectiveness.At the master level, you have +100 Combat Medic Effectiveness. This skill mod means that your poisons and diseases will be more effective. For example, if you had a poison that was an Effectiveness of 100, it will tick for 200 points every ten seconds.


At your template, you will only have +75 Combat Medic Effectiveness, so you're 100 poisons will only tick for 175 points every ten seconds.


#2: Combat Medic Use. Your template is set up to where you cannot use master level poisons. Your template also has +75 Combat Medic Use (x/x/x/4 Line). Most master poisons are 90+ Combat Medic Use (If I remember correctly). So, you would only be able to use B Poisons and Diseases, or C poisons and diseases, experimented down to 75 CM Use (not sure if its possible though)


#3 Diseases and Poisons. Since you will not be a master combat medic, you won't be able to make your own, therefore, you'd have to find someone who sells them, which, combat medic vendors aren't as abundant as doctor vendors.

Healing diseases and poisons as a doctor is 100%. There's no chance, no hit or miss, if your target is poisoned or diseased, you heal it.


But then again, you will run into the problem of not being able to use master level disease packs. At 4/x/x/x Doctor, you would only be able to use A packs, or possibly B packs, experimented down. Say for instance, you have a Poison Cure A pack that only cures 100 points. Say you have a poison applied to you, for 400 points. It would take you four heals just to get rid of that poison. In PvP, by that time, you'd probably be dead.



Having said that, it's hard to "dabble" in the elite medical professions. It's either Master CM or Master Doc, or BOTH!
Not too many people PvP alone. I would think that you'd be more effective in PvP if you mastered one profession or the other. As a Master Doctor, Teras Kasi Master, I have no problems surviving in PvP. It's not theState Effects (poison, disease, intimidate, etc.) that kill me, it's those damned riflemen and my lack of ranged mitigation

Thanx for taking to time to reply in such detail.


I honestly thought i would be able to get the best of both in one template lol Seems it will be tough either way. My alt is a doctor 4440. I really have no interest in mastering these professions because im too bloody lazy to go through the craft grind lol


I see the issues of buying CM packs with less then 90 on our server kettemoor. If i take CM 4404 that will give me my needed 90 i think. Oh well CM it is then.

i am planning to be Master Swods/Master Fencer/Master Brawler and either tka 4300 or 4003 with novice medic.


can someone please explain to me why some choose 4300 and some 4003 for tka?

I personally like the second set you have there. TKA for up close and personal and Pistoleer for when youre fighting at a running opponent. The thing I like about Pistoleer personally is that they are very versatile in terms of damage types they have access to. The defensive mods you get from Pistoleer are also something worth getting.

Pistols may come in handy. Gives you stacking bleeds and helps take down fleeing/warped mobs.

I use the republic blaster for long distance, geo blaster when closer, and the FWG5 when stuff is weak to heat.

I'd stay away from pistols unless you want to sneak some smuggler action in. It's a mostly broken profession that you will never use except starting a bleed or shooting down a mob that ran out of Lunge range. Lets just put it this way, you will never be truly effective with pistols unless you have master pistoleer AND the bounty hunter pistol line. If you want a ranged profession, rifleman is your best option. The only real use for pistoleer is the 0040 line for the great state defenes.
