Thread: FRS Bounties?
I'm also a supporter of only allowing Bounty Hunters to hunt Jedi that are active participants in the FRS. This would in essence remove the "forced PvP" argument from the community. Currently a padawan/Jedi can be attacked anytime, anyplace. To forward public acceptance of the Jedi, I propse to have the FRS be re-instituted (with changes of course to prevent "fight-clubbing" to level up, etc). If you then decide to join the FRS, you will be overt all the time, anytime in your faction (as it was before). This could easily transfer to the BH terminals and allow ONLY active FRS Jedi to be on the terminal.
So.... since you cannot be a knight without joining the FRS, you will NEVER be a night without allowing hunters to come after you. It's an individual player decision. How far do you want to advance your character/template? Your choice.

The forced pvp is already free by will.
The choise is made when you go jedi...

I agree. However, if the Jedi "complain" enough, I fear the move from the esteemed developers would be to remove player bounties alltogether. This would be an alternative to that.

I would agree with this 100% as long as a few things happened first though.
1. Reinstated Jedi PvE XP Loss. Without doing this, Padawans would have NO threat to completing their template, and have a Free Ride to Knight.
2. Reinstate Jedi Cloning AND New Rezzing XP Loss. Same reason as above. Maybe cloning gives full penalty, Rezzing gives 1/2 penality?
3. When Knight status is reached, give some skill point modifier that would negate or lessen XP loss to Knights for PvE and Cloning XP loss.
With this options, the Risk vs Reward would still happen for Padawans and Knights.

I like these ideas VERY MUCH, and this is comming from a jedi prospective.
But of course if we were to do this i would expect SOME kind of power increase, atleast to right before the CU when the xp loss was at this rate

FRS is disabled and Soe told much time ago that NO eta in it...no yet in Dev section so is lol

4. When Knight status is reached, reinstate Jedi Skill Loss. When a Knight reaches 0 banked Jedi xp, instead of going negitive, make the jedi loss a skill box with a greater xp cost so to leave over xp from the loss of the skill.
Example: Jedi Knight with 100,000 xp banked dies to BH. Death costs 452,000 xp. This leaves a negitive 352,000 xp. Skill box of Lightsaber Master is dropped which costs 3,200,000 xp. So this now leaves: 2,848,000 xp. Jedi now must regrind 352,000 xp in order to get Lightsaber Master box again, plus any xp to stay positive apon another death.
With the addition of Item 4, this gives the Knight Risk vs Reward. And yes, I would agree with the above poster. SOME power might need to be returned to the Jedi Knights through FRS. A full template Padawan needs no power increase as they will no longer have BH after them.

We all more then know, FRS is disabled. This is not about that. This is saying WHEN FRS comes back, this could be an alternitive to BH hunting padawans. While, I know most would argue that killing a padawan is best to "slow" the population of jedi, and killing a knight means nothing, this option wouldn't be for them. But I dothink with as strong as BH has become, killing a padawan whos no where near full template is too easy. So this idea is to make so only dedicated hunters stay in the game. This also means that if you never want to be hunted by BH, to not go a Knight.
Actually, I do have a few revisions to my ideas to:
1. Reinstated Jedi PvE XP Loss. Without doing this, Padawans would have NO threat to completing their template, and have a Free Ride to Knight.
2. Reinstate Jedi Cloning XP Loss. Same reason as above.
3. When Knight status is reached, give some skill point modifier that would negate or lessen XP loss to Knights for PvE and Cloning XP loss.

Under the old FRS and the current propsed new one there were/are benefits in the form of offensive/defensive bonuses for attaining "rank" in the FRS. The old issue though was the "fight clubbing" to level up that went on.
Supposedly that has been/will change when it's re-released. According to popular opinion both in-game and on the Jedi forum, it is coming, and coming before Christmas, as a "gift" to the Jedi from the developers. While it's currently in no patch information, future development posts, etc, there is widespread rumor that the developers have eluded to this in multiple postings, at fan fest, during the recent beta testing of ToOW, etc.
It's not out of the realm of possibility by any stretch. The fact that the developers will neither confirm, nor deny any of it, is proof positive that they are working on some kind of FRS system, either redefined, or completely new. Think about it logically, currently NO player can reach Knight status, or guardian, sentinal, or Master. These are established "ranks" within the Jedi order. It stands to reason that if there was NOT going to be any FRS system coming, the developers would definatively say "no".
I'm not for giving padawans a free ride, but as stated above, currently most "decent" hunters with minimal effort can slay one, and rather easily. Granted it's a risk vs reward issue, but at the same time, it's conceivable that a padawn could NEVER reach a full template because of the current "always on" bounty system.
To clarify, I do know about the benefits of the FRS to jedi with the bonuses they receieve with rank and why the old system was flawed, etc etc. Right now we do not know how strong a FRS jedi will be going through the ranks, so IF needed, more power should be given to them beyond what the FRS gives (basically just up the FRS power if its not enough).
But, at the same time, without being able to determine template status of a jedi, it would really suck to pull any high ranked jedi mission solo.

That's the gamble. I agree that there should be something in the mission profile about the Jedi's Strength. They could make a database merge type field. Instead of saying:
"When I waswalking in Coronet, a Jedi attacked and murdered my wife...." It could take the FRS title assigned to that Jedi and say "When I was waling in Coronet, a Jedi Knight/Sentinal/Guardian/Master attacked...."
I would think that would be the easiest way to fix the issue, and requires minimal programming on the development side. It still maintains the hidden identity of the Jedi
