I have found in my experience and from reading other BH's posts including some Jeid posts that there are some "bad times" to attack. I have heard:

Thread being updated as I get answers!

  • You attacked me when I was low on force

  • You attacked me while i was grinding

  • I was getting a drink

  • I was trick or treating

  • Attending a barmitsa

  • I was afk

  • I just channelled force

  • I was dueling

  • Had medicate my grandmother

  • I was in the middle of changing pearls in my saber, if I would have just gotten them in there

  • you used stimpacks and its illegal to use stimpacks when fighting a jedi

  • Your not a real BH so you shouldnt be hunting Jedi

  • Was busy cross dressing

  • Your using cm abilities.. they are not in the Bounty Hunting line and are illegal.

  • I was looking at the bazaar

  • Its Thursday

  • I am not in a good mood

  • you looked at me in a threatning manner when you arrived and messed me up

  • my friend was on my toon

  • Passed a Kidney Stone

  • Do not attack when Jedi is loading in

  • Do not attack if Jedi goes LD

  • I was in the middle of my ingame wedding

  • Was participating in an event

  • Was on my way to an event

  • Jedi has gingavitus

  • Jedi doesn't own a goat or doesn't ever have any plans of owning a goat.

These are just a few. But what I am trying to derive from this post is when, how, where and what a BH can do/use to hunt you ( Jedi ) and what we should do prior to attacking. IE.. a good response would be:

Give the jedi a tell 5 minutes before you attack so he can get foods and buffed up if needed or run to a house... another example would be. Give the jedi a tell and if the jedi requests you not to use stims or your certified weapon the BH complies.. or if the Jedi is not ready and is grinding then the Jedi can ask the BH to simply drop the mission.

Lets get some good approved times, tactics and rules set up so we can stop the hate between the two professions. All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The only time iget mad at a BH is when i am load killed. Dont let other jedi tell u anything dfferent. They should alwas be on guard for a BH at all time, if not to bad. The only thing a can understand a jedi not having at the time of a BHattack are buffs.

Hah! Dude, I'm hoping you're post is sarcastic and not serious. I'll highlight my favorite points...

What amazes me is that an asss would need to ask "when do you want me to attack?" If one has to ask then they are obviously in the wrong gaming environment.

What's more perplexing is that there's so many "BH's" who think they reside upon a soapbox and deserve recognition for their efforts to either flame or grieve.

The problem is:

JEdi do -NOT- get any notice or warning which informs them that "Playing a Jedi will cause you to be hunted by Bountyhunters which are controlled by actuall players just like your self." There is nothing to inform them what or how they should play. Their actions are left open while something as common as equiping a lightsaber at your personal vendor -WILL- give -FULL- visibility and place that Jedi on the Bounty Terminals.

And for the record, I've heard more excuse from BH's then anyone else in this game:

  • I did not have my stims ready

  • I ran out of synth steak

  • I had a spice downer

  • my armor was broke

  • lag

  • usploitedur ls and I'm reporting u 2 csr

  • ur hax0r!!

  • game accelerators will get you banned!

  • u suck and I would have won if...(insert random excuse)

  • I would have beat u if i didnt miss u

  • etc...

See,... I read stuff like this and I don't get it... What are BH's?? What do they do in the game?.. THE HUNT JEDI AND GET PAID! What rules do we have? Hummmmm....... make sure you have a good weapon for the fight and thats about it. Get over it Jedi's..... BH are here to kill you and to get paid, thats it,... not to make friends, etc... but to get paid for killing you. If you didn't want to be hunted... then don't be a jedi.

You forgot:

I was alt-tabbed out to desktop adjusting my modem settings.

Nice points, Mindspat, but notice that most of the BH complaints are things that are the BH's fault. Most BH don't mind losing a fair fight if they effectively use their abilities, equipment, etc. If I lose and I know it's my fault (forgot to uncrate foods, didn't notice when a food buff dropped, hit f8 instead of f7, etc.) I get mad, sure, but not at the Jedi. So it's not really the same thing.

I hunt with several million credits' worth of inventory at my disposal (armor, weapons, foods, spices, droids, etc.). Losing fights because of my own stupidity is annoying--I might as well have just /tipped the Jedi 50k credits instead.

I double that. I only get mad when I'm still loading or if I have a client crash, and go LD. (BEFORE the BH gets there, not during the fight. If I go LD while fighting, the BH has the right to kill me. It's nice if he doesn't, and I personally never logout, but some Jedi do.)

Otherwise, I think no limits. Maybe you can set up a rule not to attack AFK Jedi, but if a Jedi is so stupid to go afk in the public when on the terminals, just shoot them in the back.

in your own words: u r a tool

fyi: the plural of Jedi is Jedi

Bounty Hunters serve to claim a bounty. These bounties do -NOT- rest on only the shoulders of a Jedi. Please list a movie where a Bountyhunter had hunted a Jedi !! You can't. The reason is they were more concerned with the actual villians, doublecrossers and politicians to be bothered with a Jedi. Sure, through involvement with Star Wars over the years it made sense that "Jedi are in hidding" and that in this game it should continue a form of that environment or continuity. The thing is "This is a game!"

Again, can you please show me a single document produced by SOE, or even LA, which shows that "as playing a Jedi in SWG you will be hunted down by Bounty Hunters which are controled by other players like your self."

Sad to say...you can't.

You nailed it on the head. When it comes down to it we can all agree that the level of maturity has nothing to do with a character class. Just because someone plays a politician doesn't mean they're educated. (that's not a good analogy - would you trust a Master Artisan to repair your VCR?) In the same way a Jedi does not mean someone is mature and respectfull. Nor does this support that Bountyhunters should be "scum". (I love players who rollplay their characters with good taste.)

We should assist in reminding the "other" players that this is an MMO with many different people from all corners of the globe.(love the "corners of the globe" comment heh like it's square)

When I play I'm not ranting about either/or whatever the latest event is - although I do openly comment on technical issues within the game which could be considered whinning.

NOTE: Part of the problem is Jedi do not have anything to gain from an encounter from a BH regardless of the outcome. If the developers were capable of instituting a system which supports the desire of a Jedi to engage the BH in an effort to suceed their encounter we -ALL- will see a bridge between any resentment which exists relating to the "boo hoo, u beat me and i hate u now!".

For one, I want a saber TEF while in NPC cities and I want NPC BountyHunters that will periodically spawn while Jedi are in an NPC city or starport. We need a greater level of emerssion and the current system fails to provide what's required to propell the community and the game to the next level.

And spooki, you should know exactly why I tip ALL bh's 50k upon the deathblow.(never tell them about it until after the fight - no sense in someonelaying down on the job)

Well im a padawan and its my sincere beliefs that there is no Official good time to attack a jedi. Thats the whole concept of being a BH, wait till you mark is his most vulnerable and kill him. I gotten pissed off so many times when BHs get me when i least expect it from attacking lairs, being low on force or whatever, but that is my fault. I should always be on the offensive and ready for anything. Some of the attacks may be inmoral, low, dirty but then again you are Bounty Hunters, you arent there for any cause other than the glory and the credits .
