I have capped speed /accuracy clothing with rifles.

My lazer Rifle is no skills requried at 1400 max damge speed 1.4 sac 82. I didnt want to go Master Rifles which I was previously. I think CM is more then powerful to handle the situation.

Should I keep this Rifle with my speed cap clothes ? or use a scatter pistol? It would be nice to use this Rifle.

I really see no reason not to use it, but could use other advice.....

Also I am told +25 is speed cap for these kind of profession, I have a +35 to Rifle speed, so its worthless after +25 ?

Why would anyone go MCM/Pist xxx3? Yes, you have root, but your best weapon is going to have a range that puts you within throw/force distance; what's the point of root if you can still get hit? If you use a rifle to stay out of range, you'll have 0 rifle mods and only +100 gen acc and +40 gen speed; what are the chances of you even landing that root?

Now if you have cyber arms it's a different story, but heaven help you when that root wears off and he nails you on the arm.

saber through is 32m and pistols are 35m so he can root and get 33,34,35m away and go to town.... I am MP/MBH/0004 CM and i do it all the time... no need for cyber arms

I'd also point out that even if you keep a jedi at a range where he can hit you with only saber throw, you're in pretty good shape. Even as a master rifleman I find I end up in saber throw range for most of the fight, unless I'm trying to slow the fight down soI can regen a bit. If I keep a jedi at my max range, or even near it, it's too easy for them to escape. If I stay between 10-20m I can keep them from cloaking, they can't force run away because even with FR3 I can hit them with a root before they get beyond 65m(unless they do the smart thing and stasis me first), and it keeps me close enough to actually finish them with a deathblow.

Keep the pistols line for stopping shot. It is very powerful and helps you in all situations. Personally I use a rifle when hunting and have an AA for +25 speed. This works great. Personally I would never use pistols becasue it really put you in the saber throw range. Carbs or rifles should be your weapon of choice. Good luck.

Just because he has 0/0/0/3 in pistols does not mean he is stuck with using pistols. he could use the proton carbine or a good high dmg las rifle and still have the root which imo is a very good special to have. you can root and squeeze off a few good shots then when the root runs out KD with underhand shot and hit with advanced critical. then kite away and rinse repeat.

Here is why:

It is my opinion that the stopping shot used properly is one of the most versatile tactical weapons in the BH arsenal.

I have rooted a Jedi in the middle of a rancor lair at the right moment (a full temp) , even admitted by the Jedi after the battle, it was the only way I could have gotten him. I have rooted another jedi as he attempts to get on his bike to run , he freezes right at the correct moment , can't heal or attack on the bike , he goes down. Used defensively it is equally spectacular, a Jedi roots me, I root him (you can feel the wind come out of their sails). Also it is a great escape move...more than a few times the Jedi has popped a crystal or a holocron and there is no way my mind will last. Stopping shot followed by a jog and a hop on the bike always does the trick and keeps me alive.

My very favorite use of the attack, is when the battle was going back and forth and towards the end I hit stopping shot and back away, the jedi gets a last hit in and I mange to pour torso, adv crti, torso , adv crit, with the dots laid on him it was curtains, stopping shot absolutely rules.

If you are going to use a rifle, why not go 4000 rifles instead of pistols? That's what I chose and it works well. I don't really need another root since I have one KD and paralyze.

Hell, you could even go 0400 carbines...... gives you a crap load of extra accuracy (general ranged) and it gives you a very high damage Leg hit (second only to adv critical for non warmup shots), and you get a snare that doesn't have a reused timer on it (although there is a 10 sec timer against the target, so you they can't be perma snared.... but you MAY be able to get around this with the CM snare... not sure).

But, if you are gonna use rifles.... I might pick up.... 4000 for the alpha striking sniper shot..... or 0400 for conceal shot so you can stay out of sight for a little bit.

This is what I would suggest with a MCM build. Yeah, with pistols there that 3m buffer zone, but I don't see how that'd work with lag. If you use anything else with pistols, I can't figure out how +100 accuracy would work against anyone with even the least Defender

Personally I just use MR/Pist xxx3/ Med xx3x. With +25 in attachments/BE clothes that's +800 heals along with 65m range and root. Don't have debuffs, but the extra speed/accuracy in my build makes up for it. But hey, whatever works for you

Ok, did you see the rest of the text below what you quoted? I'm not questioning the viability of root (I have it in my template), I'm questioning the viability of either a) using a 35m range weapon when a Jedi has a 32m range weapon, or b) using a weapon that has +100 acc and +40 speed mods
