Thread: carbines or pistols?

i am sure this has been asked before but i am trying to figure out should i go carbine 0-3-0-4 or pistols 3-0-4-0. is there any thing i should know before taking one or the other? sorry if this has been asked before i dont have much time to search through here tho thanks

Well, you may want to consider both. For instance, I don't get involved in the GCW. My PvP experience is killing Jedi, one on one. So, I take 0 3 0 0 carb and 0 0 2 0 pistol. It gives me 155 carb accuracy and the ability to use the Geo pistol, which, when used with Torso shot, shreds jedi.

im going to pistoler 0-2-3-1... or something like that... im not sure yet.. but geo pistol owns

I debated this for awhile. I can't remember who it was in the BH forums that told me this, but it is great advice and I try to pass it on. Just play what you have more fun with. If you like carbines go carbineer, if you like pistols go pistoleer. Personally I like pistols for some reason so that's the route i took. No matter which you choose they will enhance your skills. Just do what you find more fun in.

Since I'm a casual player who likes pistols and want to climb the BH ladder as quickly as possible, I'm dumping my Combat XP into Pistol Special Abilities. Currently I'm 0-0-0-2 pistoleer. It may not make the most sense from a PvP point of view, but I rarely PvP and want to concentrate my pistol experience on the BH tree. Once I've got Bounty Pistol IV that may change.

personally i hate carbines the HAM cost is way too high,but the moves for carbine in the bh tree are sick. i went pistoleer 0041 pistoleer you get def vs state attacks in the pistoleer 00X0 line at 4 you get def vs KD +50!! this helps a lot in pvp vs other BH or TKMS that like the KD/dizzy move.atm i am a 3444 bh and at this point i use a bit of everything .its all about options.

I'm crafting an Alt on Gorath currently that is going to be a MBH (currently MM). With the addition of skill points, finally, I'm looking at going either carbine or pistol to complement the BH. With that said, my play style leads me more to PvE (even with the hunting of marks) and I'm not a big PvP fan. What are the pro's and or con's to going down either of these 2 paths? Which would you suggest and why?

Either or. Both have good qualities and bad qualities. The FOTM seems to be Carbines so try that. I personally like Pistoleer because I love pistols.

Pistols have more damage types, and less HAM costs, thats why they are my preferred.

Theres no reason to master either Carbines or Pistol if you are a MBH. Dabble in both to make your prefered attack stronger.

i'm going formaster pistoleer and putting the rest into carbines, really it's up to personal preference in the end, which weapon you enjoy using since the only decent specials for either weapon are in the bh prof.

Bah, Charge Shot(area Kd), Suppression Fire 2(Pd), Full Auto Area2(Area State attack[dizzy,stun,blind]), Crippling Shot(most powerful carbine shot IG). Pistols is a different story
