Thread: Armour
Can someone explain the benifits of wearing armour to me?
Like what armour is best for melee dam / range dam .. and how do you tell this?
Is the drain on your HAM bar for special attacks worth wearing armour?
There were bugs in armorcrafting all through beta. Ubese and Padded armor were (to my knowledge) never available, and factory bugs limited access to some pieces of chitin and mabari. The expert weaponcrafters had a good long time in beta to test how certain materials affected certain things. Armorcrafters didn't have the same opportunity.
The short answer is: armor can be very useful if it is the right armor in the right situation. I've had friends tell me that a suit of chitin armor took their per-round damage from Endor mobs down to the 100's range from the 300's range.
That being said, you need to look at the stats of the armor. Some armor protects well against blaster fire, some protects well against energy weapons. Using the proper resources and experimentation, you can (theoretically) raise those benefits and lower the HAM costs. Sadly, in my career as an armorcrafter, I have not had the ability to do quality control experiments on the recipes to streamline my process. Much of that comes from the need for hides and bones to manufacture armor. As a dedicated armorcrafter/tailor, I have been reliant upon the bazaar and others for my hides and bones.
I detoured into tailor to get the ability to make synthetic cloth and reinforced fiberplast panels, so I am confident that there are armorcrafters out there whose techniques are more advanced than mine. Any follow up input?
I'm a new up and coming BH..
Is lowering my stats and getting composite armour a must? or shall i stay as i am unarmoured?
I've gone from Invest 0 to 3/4 of the way through Invest four, and I only recall one death unarmoured. No buffs, no medic, no armour.
PvP wise hunting Jedi though, I've got crates of spice, food, drink, 70% kinetic resist composite and 23% MK3 shield generators andready to receive doctor buffs standing by. I wouldn't even bother engaging a PC mission without armour ![]()
well im only at investigation 2 right now, working on 3, but what I normally do, is send my pet in when going after the marks, to distract them, then I use bleed, eyeshot, and healthshot, with my scatter, and finish them off with my llc, but as far as armor goes? no need to, my pet takes the dmg...

Pft how unprofessional of you :0P
That is good enough to start. If you're just killing animals you will probably want to continue to get a full suit of ubese. I started with a full suit of cheap 51% ubese and had no problem. If you plan on ever fighting npcs or PCs, then you will want to have a suit of composite armor handy too.
I use both, ubese for PvE, composite for PvP and npcs
