Thread: The Next Publish

Q states on the new Development forum that the new publish is coming soon. This is a bit disappointing for me, considering any changes that might directly or indirectly affect our class is not going to be able to be tempered by our Voice in the community. I guess this is another "where's our correspondent" thread, but this newest revelation has really put a crimp in my idea that things are going to get better, soon.

all I have to say about this is:

Problem #4:

Bounty Hunter power curve ends before easier master classes. They aren’t as powerful as a pistoleer/carbineer/etc.

Solution #4:

I’m not 100% convinced that bounty hunter should be more powerful than a pistoleer in all situations. That being said, I think they need some more class specific functionality and abilities as opposed to borrowing existing moves/mods from pistoleer/carbineer. I’ll investigate this and see what I can come up with to improve the class.

you state that we need ...functionality and abilities as opposed to borrowing existing moves/mods from pistoleers/carbineer. you have this all wrong, Pistoleers pillage and plunder our Bounty hunter pistol line.

we don't even have enough points to put into a more than 3 or 4 skill boxes, while pistoleers take all 4?

and did you ever play the BH profession from scratch? did you lv scout and marksmen, then gained the 40k in combat xp. did you? I will guess no, if no, how can you judge what is best for us and whether or not , we spending 217 skill points not be able to beat a pistoleer in all situations?

I would like to see your answers to this question!!!!!
and I will stay posting this until he answers this question!!!

nah, I just wanted to ponout why is it that bh is going to suffer, Dan, believes he is sure what is good for us, and I want people to notice, those that haven't read his post, he probably never even played as a BH, and if he did, it was probably a character already made a BH for him, I bet he never played the profession from scratch?

I would really like to see them take scout away from the requirements of BH, and marksman from the requirements of Ranger. I know they wont but hey.... Can't blame a guy for dreaming! They are going to continue to nerf the heck out of the professions anyway and if BH's are not going to be anything special, why make them use so many skill points to get it?

Marksman is required for ranger? I thought it was only master scout.

Skep's correct, it's only Master Scout to advance to Ranger.

If they took scout away from BH, there'd be 50 million more BH's running around, and it's already a really popular class.

Bad idea, IMO...

If they took scout away from bh (it would make sence from a role playing view of the swg bounty hunter) it would make them overpowered because their current power is balanced by their high skill point cost.

You people are taking that quote all wrong. What hes saying is that under the majority of circumstances the BH will win all 1v1 battles. But he doenst feel a BH should be able to own a pistoleer whoes buffed, spiced, or 3 tiers above a Novice BH. When he says "not all" he is actually saying you should win under most circumstances just "not all" of them.

Hey Kathul..

You used to read Lum The Mad's site

Hair and teeth will gradually fall away.
Always from the days of old men has it been this way
And none born can escape this thing.
