Fists and Kicks vs Lightsaber?saiyan may lose an arm or 4...

Even though SuperSaiyan's are fast as heck i think jedi reflexes would kick in for the defense part, and i don't think punching through a lightsaber blade would be the best choice....

Plus Super Saiyan's energy attacks... think about it... ENERGY attacks... lightsabers can deflect

The fight sounds close. Give the Jedi a full set of buffs and 90% comp armor and he'll walk all over Saiyan.

And if somehow the jedi loses.... we'll just nerf the Super Saiyan

Last I checked DBZ guys like to talk for 5 minutes about what they are going to do and how bad they will kick your ass.

Things Goku would have to deal with involving Jedi:

Force Choke
While the Jedi is busy choking Goku, Goku blows a mile wide crater where the Jedi is standing simply by powering up. Goku has been in choke-holds many times before and gotten outta them. Being choked is nothing new to him, unlike unlucky captains of starships.

Light Saber
Many high-leveled DBZ chars can deflect energy bolts and fieldswith their bare hands, especially Goku. Block, block, block, block. In fact, Goku can catch the lightsaber with his bare hands, since he's caught many energy effects with his bare hands before, including the planet-destroying ball Majiin Buu threw at the Earth. Also, throughout all of the DBZ energy attacks and battles, no one but Piccolo has lost limbs (and he regenerates them).

Jedi Mind Trick
Speculation about whether it works on Saiyans or not aside (if it doesn't work on Toydarians, what other species doesn't it work on?), let's assume Vader tried it on Leia while interrogating her, and of course it didn't work. If Goku has a similar willpower to Leia (becuase of determination or just plain stubborness) then it wouldn't work on him either.

It's unclear whether the larger types would be deflected. Remember that so far in any source except for the Clone Wars anime on Cartoon Network we've only seen them deflect blaster bolts, which barely do any damage to structures and walls when deflected, perhaps only leaving small burn marks. Blasts from the DBZ series tend to knock down buildings, blow apart walls and destroy major land masses. So the order of magnitude may be a bit much to expect a jedi to deflect with a 1.5" wide lightsaber blade. Even in the Cartoon Network Clone Wars, during the underwater fight, the Jedi there didn't even try to deflect the large cannon's bolt, which seemed to be on the same level as some of the medium-large DBZ blasts.

Both DBZ chars and Jedi have forms of hyper speed, though it's unclear how they would affect each other. We've never seen a Jedi do much more than run at hyper speed (except for Yoda who seemed to use the Force to accelerate his movements somewhat), but DBZ chars attack fully in their hyper speed mode, so much so that they are invisible to the naked eye. Again, it's a matter of order of magnitude, and I think the Saiyans have the advantage here.

Jedi can't fly, only leap, and their leaping seems to have limits. So all the Saiyan has to do is flight-kite the Jedi while continuously firing energy bolts at either the Jedi or the ground around him.

It's been shown that Jedi don't necessarily need to see in order to hit their targets or defend themselves, but when facing an opponent on the order of magnitude of a Saiyan, a blinded Jedi is at a serious disadvantage.

Jedi should be able to sense Goku in his new position and be able to defend against his attack once he rematerializes.

Jedi defenses aren't perfect, and one bad slash with one of the and a Jedi could lose a hand...

What's funny is the similarity between the essence of the Spirit Bomb and the Force itself. Perhaps the Jedi could sieze control of the bomb as it was coming towards him.

My $$'s on the Saiyan.

Ok we first need to determine if Goku is the DBZ Goku or GT

Goku is DBZ would most likely not power up to waste the Jedi in one shot since he always looking for new opponents and a Jedi would be something that he has never seen.

Lightsabers would not affect Goku. He has demonstrated that his hand can be just as effective as a energy laced sword (trunks) which could be considered as a lightsaber in some senses. He repelled trunks as fast as he could move and then proved that he was much faster.

Instant Transmission will be close to impossible for the Jedi to sense since he converts his body mass into energy and he is gone. Whenever Goku used transmission in the series it could not be picked up by a scouter (think of a scouter as a midochlorian counter that is worn on the head). Now since the Jedi have a Active Sense of the Force they could technically see that he is in the force but for it to tell them where Goku is would be hard. Since its quite fast the Jedi would still be lagged since he would see the energy and then try and determine where it is but by that time Goku would be in his face.

The Spirit Bomb can only be controlled by the Pure of Heart. Dark Jedis need not apply. Light Siders may be able to manipulate the bomb and it may not kill them but Goku would always have control unless he were dead or out of ernergy.

the Kamaheha is not like this. Goku has full control over its direction. A Jedi can reflect this. He would die as soon as he tried to touch it to deflect it.

The Only Jedi that has a Chance is Yoda. His powers have never been fully exercised.

Goku is close to being a god though.

Lots of Pros and Cons and sense i am a fan of both SW and DBZ i thought i would try and splice this battle up. Good question though. Start the Flames lol
