Ok, I keep seeing this debated over and over between the BH forum and Jedi forum, which the two groups sift through all the time (know thy enemy). BH's stick to the SOE claim that the jedi is 1.5 times as powerful as a non-jedi and Jedi claim it is a fallacy. Lets explore the issue just a bit to show data for and against both claims, without flames, without getting personal. It is my personal opinion that Jedi are more powerful than non-Jedi classses (1.5 times, I dont know). Before we hear Jedi screaming how a BH can, with the right template, defeat a full template mdef/mls let me explain my thought process. Yes it is possible for a BH to solo a full template jedi who is nigh untouchable in other PvP or PvE, but at what expense. Said BH has so tailored his template that his an easy mark in most PvP, and cant even handlemobs several levels lower than him/herself. The jedi on the otherhand probably has a 50/50 shot of beating said BH, can be a killing machine in PvP, and handle level 82 mobs of 3-4 with minimal effort...nm the loss of force in doing so. Not only that, but they get a really cool looking glow stick thatCAN doas much damage as the best non-krayt rifles in the game (and once again, to combat the claim that a LS is supposed to more damage than blasters..think again, a lightsaber is a weapon of finness and skill, not a purely destrucive tool that any joe can pick up and blow holes in the side of buildings...a LS is supposed to be able to cut the arms off an enemy, and a T21 is supposed to obliterate half an enemies torso.)

So now that I have said my 2 cents worth, lets hear from others and please keep it flameless.

I say not right now, but after the FRS who knows. I also think not every Jedi is, even at Knight level. It all depends on the template. Thats the problem,Jedi will take 5 times as much work to ballance because they are 5 professions.

Well. It all comes down to knowing your finished template and being effective at using it. Such as this mark I went after just tonight. I got to him after he cloned from a cloning center. Got him totally off guard when I attacked. After a pretty tough fight he finally wins. Cause he was able to use his skills effectively in combat.

I did a good job at keeping him at range so he could not just pummel me. And he was able to use saber throw to kd me so he could get closer to attack. Yet neither of us could really hurt each other that much. Him mostly cause I stayed clear of his melee range. And myself due to fact that said carbine couldnt damage him to a degree and the cm dots werent able to lower him to incap. Yet both of us were able to keep healing and the battle lasted a good 4-5 mins. With him unfortunately ending as the winner. After that we had a good chat and parted ways.

It wasnt the fact that I was too weak that cost me it. It was the fact that he was well practiced in pvp. Mostly due to the fact that he probably died in a pvp battle and ended up at the cloning center from it. Everyone that complains that a jedi is too powerful are probably going for the jedi that know what their doing in combat.

The full template i went after that one was afk out in BFE on dant. Easy kill. I never heard of him before.

Jedi being 50% stronger depends on the template and the quality of his/her saber. PvP skill goes along with this. You can take the best template possible, add a good saber and someone who cant PvP will still lose to a skilled player with a lesser template.

true. 1v1, CM or not, jedi SHOULD win. We have the abilities to win. I ALWAYS win 1v1 against MCM's, MDocs, whatever. Just comes to tactics, and your ability to play your jedi. 2 week, respec, afk rryyat trail grinders will probably lose a lot because they dont know their jedi.

*ahem*

before getting flamed by the BH's who will be sure to point out the 1v1 aspect of pub 20....

Alot of the times, if you're prepared, its quite easy to take down knights. Having good armor, weapons, food, spices, whatever, and you can take down full temps easily. But again, you cant just barge in there right away after getting a WP. Its called staying back and observing the jedi.

i would say the only jedi that are 1.5 times stronger are the ones with mls they are the only ones that can realy put damage out. imo im a master doc master swords with a ok ph and i can out last most jedi toe to toe unless they are mls. so i think that jedi could be up to 1.5 times stronger with the right templet. but not all jedi are 1.5 times better. ive seen master enhncers master powers cloak and run off. they just dont do enough damage. so in that i think jedi could be weaker then some elite professions. and another thing is that jedi post cu have noting more than good pearl drops well atleast on shadowfire. so i think that has a big infuence on the damage they put out. most only hit me for like 300 to 500 damage per hit and i do 1.2k per hit this is by far out hitting the jedi's. so imo if a jedi want to be good vs a mbh it almost forces them to go mls mdefender. but that templet is just no fun u dont have all the bling in the fight with only power hits and defencive skills. so i think this is false. and jedi needs to be worked out. and about a saber only being for finesse i think that is wrong if u go role play on it look at ep 1 where qui-gon puts his saber throu a wall. now i would like to see a rifleman do that. so i think they are very power full weapons and should be. some would be if the drops would be fixed. well thats my 2 credits or 4 lol what ever lol.

depends if they have pre or post pub 19 pearls in there saber...

I its a pretty even fight between me and a mls mdef jedi who has a post pub 19 saber, (by This I mean only good pearls to tune) against a jedi with 4 120 damage 9 fc pearls? I don't even bother. dead before lag catches up

I knew the qui-gon issue would come up but hoped that others would see it the way that I do. If qui-gon had just hit the wall once...quickly....like a blaster pistol would, his damage would have been minimal. It was the constantapplication of his saber in a limited area..as well as some unknown force-use judging by the way he was concentrating....that allowed him to do that. Take a focused high capacity laser to nearly any object and that will happen. If the energy pack in a blaster pistol couldpump out enough energy to remainconstant, it would probablydo the same.

But thats my view of it.
