It does nothing for me...I have never seen the point in the exp loss. It has done nothing to control the Jedi population and appears to be another pointless game mechanic which causes nothing but bad feeling?

How do you know its done nothing to control the jedi population? I know a few players who quit or just play there free alt because grinding out of a hole was to much for them. I think bringing back more loss for the jedi would be better, it would cut back on the stat port show offs and weed out the cearbears in a pvp prof

Sadly, the reason XP-loss exists has less to do with Jedi population control and more to do with preventing exploits. Otherwise, this could happen:

BH: Hey, you unlocked the other day, right?

Jedi: You bet.

BH: I have an idea. Let's duel, get you some vis then I'll get your mission and kill you. I'll split half the profits with you and we'll both be rich!

Jedi: Sounds good. /duel

no. xp loss is there for elite gamers to expriance something diffrent other than a little decay on the gear, jedi used to be something of a challange done by players looking for something diffrent and harder now its just full of whineing complaining carebears who think now that there a jedi everything must go there own way.

I see lots of posts from BH whining that the Jedi keep running away or don't want to fight and lots of Posts from Jedi saying they have nothing to gain from fighting...

The new anonymous marks kinda make the old exploitsuggestionobselete since you might pull alot of missions before you get your "friend" The current system is also exploited by BH extorting money to not kill Jedi, The argument that Elite player need to risk exp loss is kinda redundent too since good players can regain the lost exp very quickly...

I find it hard to beleive that someone who has invested the time to get a jedi is going to quit Jedi just because of a small deficit in exp. I know a few people who take a time out and play their alts after a BH hit, but no-one who has left....

Maybe they could get a second place ribbon when they loose.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - Julio Torres

How about pre-cu jedi with -10mill ex and a borked template that can not work in the current system

Id be fine if jedi had no XP loss. I just like the hunt. And fortunately since I suck, usually I get the hunt and they keep their xp.

No but seriously, XP loss is just there to keep from farming creds with a friend, but you know you cant pull a specific name easily anymore so thats kinda taken care of, not to mention if your friends fully templated it doesnt matter anyway.

I would suggest a change in penalty to the jedi in which its a time based thing where the jedi is useless for a good period of time. Maybe they do half damage or quarter damage for 24hours-a week, enoudgh time they may decide to work their alt for a while and make even existing jedi less active,I dont know, but just to where if its a fully templated jedi it still matters, and then I think its a bit more fair for casual gamers cause lets face it, a hardcore gamer is probably already full-template and if not, will recover the lost XP in no time.

Yes the poster was right, above you , the xp loss is a tool to stop exploiting cash out of the system.

Not so important now as the terms are anonamous but you would still get " i got your mission , do you want to split the payout "?

Cant see any other option to the problem except for making BH hunting free ? lol.

I am a Jedi and want to hunt Jedi, I even did once, but I couldn't DB. But I took a nice payout for it, and already had my fun knowing I would of won.

Honestly, yes it does make a difference. I want to do it for fun, not to make somebody loose 450k Jedi XP which is roughly 2.25 million weapon XP to normal players.

Another issue, alot of Jedi wouldn't being going thru extreme methods to avoid XP loss. With all the constant nerfs and changes to Jedi, alot are probably always changing their templates too. I know I am, AGAIN. I know I know, stay off the terminals. Easier said than done, it's really boring and you are a do nothing Jedi if you stay off the terminals.

Being hunted by bounty hunters and losing xp is the only justification left for Jedi to have any higher level of power than anyone else.

No more permadeath

No more saber tef

No more xp loss from animals or from any other death other than a deathblow from a bounty hunter that has their mission at the time

Bounty hunters cant choose their missions and end up fight the full templates nearly every time

Jedi have a safe planet to grind

Even the Jedi grind has been severely marginalized. How fast can they get the xp in a group? 100k an hour? More

lol Not disagreeing with you, although I do wish there was a diferent way. Its just funny because this statement contradicts its self.

So, BH killing a jedi to give them XP loss justifies a jedi being more powerful? If they get killed are they really more powerfull?

lol I know, I know, you gotta find an edge as a BH to do it, it just sounds funny. Never really looked at it that way.

I would be all for removing the xp loss and adding a different penalty. I would suggest somthing along the lines of after a BH kills you, for his mission, you are un attackable and unable to attack anything or anyone for X hrs, i would suggest 2 - 4 hrs, maybe even make you glowy for that time. Its not such a rough penalty that it makes someone so angry that they act the fool like some do, but its still a deterant. or maybe like 1 hr for pvp death, 15min for pve death and 2 hrs for a BH death...slows the jedi that is templating, turns the tide of pvp battles when the enemies jedi are out of commision for a bit, and altho irritating, agian not so bad that a jedi feels miserable after a BH encounter...its suppose to be fun.

and to those that will always say its suppose to be hard this and that, it is hard...its time consuming (if not challenging) and a real investment in money and time (real life money as well) to get a jedi, and when you have one it should be fun. The days of Xp loss and permadeath should be a part of the games past, as are the days of jedi that could juggle 5+ regular templates with ease...post CU jedi are not pre 9 jedi...no way, no how.

sorry, to respond to the poll, atm no, it makes no difference to me, and really the only people it likely does make a difference to are those people that have a very limited timeper day/week to play the game. IMO the same people most likely trying thier damnedest to stay off the terms, be covert, and more then the average "act" like jedi would/should act according to the story.
