Thread: Adv. Guide to BEs: Shame on SoE
I thought it was obvious by now, but it seems thats not the case.
Read the so called "Advanced Guide for Bio-Engineers" then read the stickies above.
You will recognize that theres no difference.
SoE didn't put the least amount of effort in the so called "Advanced Guide for Bio-Engineers".
In other words "there's your guide, now shut up".
All of the information in the so called "Advanced Guide for Bio-Engineers" was put together by community members and not by SoE.
And therefore I have to repeat "Shame on you, SoE".
/agree
I think it is a slap in the face to the BE community to use what our brethren put together as the "Advanced Guide." Granted, it is very well made, and I would like to thank each of those who helped make it hapen for us. Well done there friends.
However, SOE did not add a damn thing to it. Where was their explanation as to how CL is determined? Where was their input at all?
And for that matter, why doesn't the CL show on the Genetic Template, since the creature & flora resources used to make the skin have no statistical impact on the outcome? This alone would be a huge benefit to see as we experiment the critter up to the level we seek. Why do we fail when sampling newly made creaturesin our own inventory (as opposed to sampling fully grown wild critters)? Why do we make skill enhancing tissues for basically every profession, yet cannot make a sampling bonus to help ourelves? Where are our droids to do the sampling for us--it is Star Wars, where droids do so much yet we ourselves are Mutant Rancor snacks? When will the Devs realize that BE's hand craft every pet and use one of a kind ingredients and so cannot just crank out dozens of attempts to get the right final result as other crafters do (Crit Falures decimate our limited supplyof rare DNA). And, finally, why do we fail so damn often when sampling things as an MBE? (fail 30 out of 31 tries on MR's one night, then 19 in a row on another night and you begin to hate the game--follow thatwith a crit failure on what little you gathered and you soon want to see the Devs spontaneously combust)
Sorry, rant off.

I figured the flames would come after reading this guide. I am kinda curious though, what did people really expect from them on this?? I mean you didn't actually expect them to sit down and say "Ok, here is our exact formula for determining the end result DNA template." ???
We wrent expecting exact forumla's at all - but we were expecting them to have made some sort of an effort - rather than copy and pasting the guide from our FAQ (stickied at the top of the forum) They didnt even bother to proof read it, remove the double sentences and spell check etc.
This guide was LONG overdue - they have been 'working hard' on it for months now (or so they kept telling us every friday when the guide didnt appear)
With all the BS about pet validity checks and newly crafted pet CL's not being valid we really hoped that this guide would give us some insight into **edit** we're doing.
If they can be bothered to correct the spelling and grammar they certainly wouldnt have bothered correcting the information.
They have in the past and will in the future release incorrect information.
