Thread: Another Factory Tissue Thread Or, Aurgh! I just wasted that bone!

I figure that it must be a bug, so I come in here to research it. Much later, I now know that factory produced tissues don't work properly.

Tailor? Hrmmm....
Maybe it is a bug.
Was it Scent masking, specifically, or was it other tissues?
I appreciate the help, too, by the way. This has been driving me mad today.
Thank you!

I've made every tailor tissue there is in my factories (all upper tissues, none of the weaker one), including the cover bonustissue. I've had tailors make clothes from these too and never a single problem.

Greetings all:
1) If the tissues were going to be invalid, why did the factory take the schematic and make them in the first place? Normally, a factory won't even show a schematic unless it can accept it (weapons factories don't even show a stim schematic, for example, when loading them). So, why did a food/medicine factory accept my schematic if it shouldn't?
There are 2 categories of tissues, "fieldwear" ones, and "casual" ones. The "fieldwear" ones (mask scent is one of these) can only go into reinforced fiber panels. The "casual" ones can only go into synthetic cloth.
2) Why did the factory then produce invalid items? Usually, when you have a factory, it produces items that are good for something?
The factory didn't product invalid items. They are just fine, you are just trying to use them in a component for which they were not intended.
3) Why does it work this way for the mask scent ability? There is a cap of +25 to the stack, so it's not like anyone could ever make clothing that made anyone so effective that they could shoot stuff and still not be seen.
Yes, there is a +25 cap, which actually is a ton. If you look at it, it's actually the equivalent of a box of exploration ability or so with no expenditure of skill points.
4) A chef friend of mine was able to use factory produced crates of food related tissues? Why do those work for him, but the scent masking not?Is Vasarian Brandy that enhances for 475 for 53 minutes (with fill of 48, so it can be doubled) any less game breaking than a robe that offers +25 scent masking?
Ahh good catch Arthur! I didn't even notice he was trying to put them in the wrong component.

Just wanted to make one more comment on this. Because there is only opportunity for people to wear a limited number of clothing items that can have "fieldwear" bonuses in them, and because the tissue values don't stack for these types of bonuses in a single piece of clothing, having higher bonus values on the tissues really is pretty important.

Greetings all:
So, I had a friend that wanted some BE clothing, with scent masking. Cool! We decide on a robe, I spend a ton of time getting enough bone (of good quality), and make a schematic which gives me 72 Scent Masking tissues, of only +11, knowing that even using all three, he will only have a +25 to his mask scent, since they don't stack more than +25 (Scout/CH on my first account - love that scent masking). No problem.

tissues are broke atm
Care to expland on that statement?
Arthur, thank you for setting me right. This really had been driving me nuts. It's also good to know that the stuff I've made is not a waste. *grin*
Thank you also for pointing out that clothing can't have stacked tissue boni in one piece. This would explain why my "regular" toon ended up with two different pieces of clothing to max out his scent masking.
'Preciate the help!

All my tissues for chef and clothing are working fine. There are bugs and then there are user errors. Always check to make sure you are doing everything properly before you decide it is a bug, like putting mask scent tissues into syncloth. I even done that one.
