Thread: Non-Kashyyyyk Twins and Triplets!
Because they only introduced elite mobs with the CURB, the pre existing mobs, with a few notable exceptions, are predominantly non elite...and are therefore often not as good as the elites for DNA.
The result of the CURB was to dumb down everything in the hopes of making it easier to balance for the Devs, and more accessible for players...This has spread out into all corners of the game, including Pet Crafting...
As a bit of proof...pre CURB we had never figured out the crafting system in over a year, Post CURB we have the new crafting system almost completely cracked to the extent we can predict a pets CL within a +-3 level margin of error...

and we had a working calculator for these predictions before publish 18... the changes to the system came with p17.
the +/- 3 variance is getting tighter every day. I'd wager that we're well within a +/- 2 range right now.
Here is a very very easy one for twins:
take 5 narglatch guardian/hunter DNA from the narglatch cave (near moenia - naboo) - it's a POI. Put them into a template and don't experiment.

There is non-Kashyyyk DNA that is good. My list is at home and I'll post it later (if someone reminds me lol)
And to further add, I had a nice formula for guessing pet levels before all this mess. And it was quite accurate.
OOO - Lucha - can you post your formula too please????? Mine tends to be off sometimes by up to 3 levels and I still can't figure out why ... probably the weightings are a bit off ....
TIA,
Dor

You will get a 8K health level 34-35 as a result ..
(That one is sort of thanks to Cin who has always suggested the Narglatch cave as a good source of non-Kashyyyk elite DNA).
I can alsocertify that the guardians and hunters are still elite post-the-big-publish-for-CH's .... I was there last night (Aug 7). I know they stopped female narglatches from being elite but the hunters and guardians are still (didn't actually look for females to check that tho - going by reports by CH's and the publish notes).
Dor
The females I tamed (new tames in new CH system) are not elite and I did sample a couple, their DNA is more in line with a GSP now.
I liked to use the Swamp Tusk Cat (Elite CL30) and the Plains Hunter (Elite CL29) but I don't think they are elite any longer as they are supposed to be tamable. They along with the Elite Narglatch are a little low in some stats - don't have my papers with me so I can't check. I am comparing DNA I sampled right before Publish 21 to DNA sampled after Publish 21 to see what's changed - hopefully I'll get to plug that into my spreadsheet soon.
As Dor said, if you don't experiment it will come out with 8k health, if you want to bring the other stats up and do experiment, it will drop health down to around6k ish but bring the other stats up but also put you in the CL40 range - I like to put as much into psych as possible for that added aggro bonus and CHs seem to think that my pets listen better (at least the ones with high psych).
And to further add, I had a nice formula for guessing pet levels before all this mess. And it was quite accurate.

OK, here goes....
kash: uller stoneclaw = naboo: narg hunters (from poi)
kash: walluga skullsmasher vet = hostile huurton (from the warren)
I haven't found a non-kashyyyk double elite yet, but I'm determined to
And if you REALLY want to have fun. Take your level 18 BE (that's my level anyway) and go and sample some urnsors caretakers! The hard = 1k & the dex = 1k power=750ish. btw, in case you don't know, they are surrounded by lvl76 things that aggro easily and respawn VERY quickly. FUN ![]()
The level guessing formula I has was for the 'old' system. In the good olde dayz when you could make 10k lvl 10s. /sigh. The good olde days, we'll miss them lol
er ... i don't really see how you can get better than using narglatch dna for making triplets. They have 1000 hardiness ... are you looking for recipes that are higher in power (damage) than in hardiness?
just wondering ... Dor
Well, I'm not exactly an expert but I can tell you what I do to make a pet? I don't really use recipes ... or maybe i do but they are sort of in my head...
I want as high health as possibly usually - so I select DNA with 1000 hardiness for as many slots as the level will let me. For anything about level 34 to maybe 50 I know i can get away with using narglatch DNA for that - so I do. Then I think about whether I want to have highish regen. If I do, then I throw amalkloc bull sample or something else with high endurance into the prowess slot, but this does add to the fortitude since only the elites have that nice high hardiness/low fortitude mix. Higher level pets, I use a jagged fang or another double elite with 1000 power as well in the physique slot to pump up the damage (and the level).
sometimes I put a sand beetle DNA into the mental slot for high state resists but not always since it will pull down the hardiness and that i do NOT want. If I'm trying to reduce the level (like for making non-CH pets) I'll use a really low level DNA in the prowess and agression slots since that will take the power down, then use a narglatch in the physique slot to pump up the health. I like to use sand beetle DNA in the mental and psych slots for less pain in the experimentation but i haven't yet made a lot of non-CH pets - have been distracted lately so i don't have a good feel for them yet.
Anyway, when I have my mix the way I want it - i then use the first calculator that nam made that predicts the stats and pet level based on the numbers of the stats only. That tool sits on top of my game, and i put one point at a time into the stats I want to bump up (if it is above 850 on the desired stat i don't experiment b/c that will cause it to fall). I'm usually crafting to a certain level and I am pleased when I hit it dead on. I usually predict what the level will be BEFORE i put each point in to see how much wiggle room I get. If there is a lot - then i will do it - if there isn't then i gamble - sometimes i do, sometimes i don't. By constantly monitoring the level as i experiment I am rarely more than 2 levels away from the final predicted value of the calculator and I end up with a pet that is exactly what I want.
I use:
narglatch DNA/uller stoneclaw/other single elite DNA (eg. huurton is supposed to be ok but i've not been to the warren with dor lately)
that's for hardiness
for hardiness and power - jagged fang - other double elite dna from kash
for endurance - malkloc bull
for intellect - sand beetle - usually from missions ... although i'm getting to be higher level and this won't continue to work for the lower level critters b/c of the higher hardiness.
for courage - ie. aggro - well - try and find something with 150 courage since they took away our high courage samples - but that comes at a cost b/c the elites don't have high courage so i have to decide how much i want it.
As for damage - I've not played recently with maxing power - thats' on a 'to do' list of mine.
I think that IF you can get RoTW - it is almost essential for a BE and very annoyingly so I might add. It has a lot of content in itself tho - and is good.
Best wishes,
Dor
PS. looking forward to seeing other replies b/c I'd like to see the approach of other BE's too ![]()
