Thread: Armour Macros
Currently on test there is now an approx 10 second delay when equiping armour - therefore these macros will no longer work.
How badly will this affect you?
This will kill me for sure. I use a macro for equiping armor. Definately needed when using all the BE clothing to increase mask scent.
Either that or I'll have to go out buffed which will cost me money to do my job. ![]()

Yet another silly idea from people that don't seem to know how to play the game, based on complaints from others that seem to think some play it too well.
Armor macros are nothing out of the ordinary, but people seem to think they are somehow being cheated if they cannot sneak up behind someone who is relaxing in a cantina or while crafting and blow them away while they are vulnerable. Waiting 10 seconds to be able to equip armor seems ludicrous, and I can't honestly imagine how the devs or others responsible for the decision could suggest it as much else. The next question arises as to whether you wait 10 seconds for each piece of armor, or 10 seconds before you can equip any armor. How does it work if you are partially armored (say, you have armor boots on.) Are you armored, and able to don the rest immediately, or are you unarmored if you are not wearing every piece possible. Are you penalized for another timer if after you wait the 10 seconds, it takes you 15 seconds more to put on the rest, and the timer takes effect again?
Naritus had, and perhaps still has, a bounty-hunter's guild, with player marks and bounties. If you did not have an armor macro, you had best not sign up as a mark, as you could not don armor or buff after the challenge was issued. You either spotted the BH first and got ready, or it was "come as you are" night at the local cloning center.
US Military training concentrates in part on being able to react quickly to a situation. Would we accept another country saying "you have to wait 15 seconds before firing, or you are not playing fair?"
If this makes it from Test to live, I will give it 2 days to be rescinded like the pet-trades, the "new and improved crafting system" and a number of other similar things that have been sad wastes of a developer's time, when there is so much more we really do need in the way of fixes and content. (I would give it one, but I am feeling unduly generous today, hehe)

As combat balance I can see why this is needed but we have to consider how it affects our profession and make our feelings known. We're not the only ones who this is going to affect negatively, as N'jessi has pointed out - how many people are going to take their armour off now? A bad change for tailors indeed.
I don't agree. Although there are really no holsters in the game, I think it's assumed that weapons are either in holsters, strung across your back or whatever and readily accessible. Armor on the other hand has to be pulled on and strapped tight or fastened.
I can see why they want to do this, but the only people that are going to get a benefit from this is the PVP crowd that likes gank the afk overt in the cantinas (On a side note: It sure would be nice to go down to your local cantina, have a quiet drink, listen to some good music, enjoy watching a good dancer, and chat with people with out a war going on around you).
Sorry to all the armoursmiths on Chilastra, but looks like one sale won't be happening this weekend.

If you don't like the wait in useing the macro then just click on the individual pices in your toolbar. I can do that and equip my armor in a matter of seconds that way w/o a macro.
Its not just macros this change will affect - putting armour on through any means now has a delay

Oh. Well crap
There is a lot the DEVs can do to balance things out and make the game fun without having to make us sit around at our keyboards, blankly staring at the screen, WAITING!!! For bloody hell's sake ![]()

How about just making the UbEr comp not UbEr anymore?
Every armor should have atleast 2-3 vulns to it.
Also armor shouldnt be able to go over 30% base and no more then 60% special... Maybe make an exception for RIS armor or BH armor... maybe they can hit 80%.
Make that change and there wont be a need for a armor time sink.
I went to test forums and the reason this was implemented, it seems, was because you can now dabble with force powers while keeping your regular player professions.
If this is because of the damn jedi then it is only fair they be the one to bear the burden... How about all FS toons cant wear armor.
