Thread: Post Publish 7 CL10 2k HAM pet invalid!
Which is interesting because I pulled out Scwooey's 10.5k health / 5k action / 5k mind 60% kinetic freak of nature today and it works fine.
Go figure.
I just posted this on my alt account, but look here:

About half my business is non-CH pets. I make good ones with some resists, nothing spectacular, and what gets me even more is... how am I to know which pets are still valid for sale? I can't tame them and then put them on the vendor.
I've weathered the other changes with some equanimity, but this makes no sense whatsoever.
Alixa, Gorath, very disgusted.
2 things annoy me most about this
1) If it is a bug there will be no way to get the initial pet back ![]()
2) I dropped my 3/0/4/2 BE skills at the weekend as I wanted to try some otherclasses (intending to come back with my banked exp later) so i can't even make any new things.
I am fortunate in that all my pets I have made so far for guildies are working fine. They are all similar to this one:

My little CL9 Jax with 1901/1250/900; no resists; 120-130 damage; and 2 secondaries was valid when I first logged on but by late evening became invalid when I tried to call him.
He was lowered to 750 ham and 0 damage but the secondaries stayed in place - go figure. Too bad I can't drop him in the house now as a decoration.
Right now, we do not have a specific, carved in stone, "Cap" list of stats for a CL 10 pet. We do, however have some pretty decent guidelines, that if we choose to ignore them, seem to bite us.
Take the Cowardly Gurreck, the highest HAM former Non-CH usable creature. CL 15, 3200 HAM. We've been told that a BE should be able to make a better creature than a wild tame of equivalent level, and along the way, 50% has been postulated, if not stated. OK, so a non-CH used to be able to use a CL 15 that had 3200 health. Now, if we can do 50% better, then maybe a CL 10 could have the health of a wild CL 15... 3200... Hmmm, sounds like a decent guideline to me.
Do you want to have it published that a max CL 10 creature can be 3199 Health, 2999 Action, 2999 mind, with >20% Resists to Kin and energy, >40% to electricity, >70% to heat/cold/acid, >20% to stun and blast, do a maximum of 50 damage at 2.10 speed and .3 to hit, and have no more than 2 of the 3 possible specials, 1,2 and ranged?
Let me put it another way. Do you want to never sell another non-CH pet unless it has 3199 Health, 2999 Action, 2999 mind, 20% Resists to Kin and energy, 40% to electricity, 70% to heat/cold/acid, 20% to stun and blast, 50 damage at 2.10 speed and .3 to hit, and 2 specials? (Please state the color preference and type of cat body form here.)
We can do what no other crafting profession can - make completely one-of-a-kind creatures, through our own efforts and knowledge. I can grind the same skill boxes, get the same resources, use the same tools and templates and foods and tapes, and make the same houses, harvesters and furniture as any master architect in the game. I can grind the same boxes and make the same swords, guns, vehicles, droids, or any other player crafted item in game, but not even the absolute best BE on any server can exactly duplicate the creatures I make.
Decide whether you want to be a "Cookie-cutter" BE, or one that has the freedom to excel if you work at it. I, personally, would MUCH rather make a few CL 11 pets when I am trying to make the best CL 10, than 1000 identical CL 10 Gurrecks like the above.
If you want to join the scramble for the stockpiles of 999,999,999 resources, pay millions for skill tapes and rare looted clothing, and make the same things anyone else willing to spend the same money on Ebay can make, there are a dozen other professions that are much easier, and many that are more lucrative.
Our limits are imagination and effort. Theirs are resource quality (random number generator) and credit balance.
I think we have the much better deal.

I posted this in another thread, a petition (more of a rant, actually) to "release the CL10 max HAM"

I would agree with LLan completely except that, as before, the new "pet check" seems to be willy nilly. Why would a CL10 animal with 5K HAM 18% kinetic be valid and one with 2K HAM not? I made some nice animals that I "thought" fell into the legal category. None of them had HAM above 3K.Many of them are invalid now. You can't look at an animal and say "that one is gonna be invalid."
Oh, and why would I be able to craft an animal the immediately gets adjusted? I made a CL5 bantha last night and when the owner tamed it he got the invalid message. It was adjusted to a level 7. Why am I able to make a 5 that'ssupposed to be a 7after the check is in place? Why didn't it say 7 to begin with? Of course no one can answer that. Our dev never talks to us.
I've gotten a lot of new non-CH orders from this patch but its still frustrating.
