Hey All,

Well last night I was on dantoine...well I sorta live there so I have no choice but to be there. I was DNA sampling on quenkers and hurtons cuz well...the XP is awesome. Well after getting 5 pieces of good DNA and a bunch of crappy DNA's from hurton pups I decided..."Lets try to make a CL10 pet".

Here is what I did. I first used 4 DNAs from hurtons and quenkers mixed. They were pretty decent...well better then what I have seen ...and then I used 1 of the hurton pup DNA's. Well that produced a 6500HAM CL18 pet with a knockdown. Oh I was using the Kwi godzilla looking creature as the model. SO!!! I decided to try to tune it down a bit. SO!!!...I used the last 3 of my good DNA 3 hurtons and 2 pup DNAs and I produced a 5300ham, CL11 with knockdown and 10% kinetic. I couldn't believe how close it was. Now...I experimented on the creature. Could that be why it went up a level?

I want a CL10 pet with decent ham and damage to protect me as I am on tatooine or correilla to beat up the creatures I fail on as I have nothing to fight back with except for the sprint ability or my bike. I am new to this creature cloning as I mainly used BE to make additives for my food.

OH!! forgot to mention, I am 2,4,2,4 in BE.

Hey man I made a few cats last night in that range, I used some arachne drone for the the mental, and agression, a couple of pickets for physical, and finished off with a voritor sample all were average quality. I turned out a couple in that range of 9-11 CL, with the best having around 5k hams and either a medium poison, knockdown or intimidate attack. I only gathered samples form Endor and Dantooine if that helps any, good luck.

Thats some awsome pets you got there Malekaievil!

Could you be more specific on which dna on what slot you were using and what you experimented or left without experimentation?

OK, Here is the best most accurate formula I found. I make a perfect cl10 everytime and get between 5-10% Kinetic with a special every once in a while. Use Dasher,Pup,Pup,Dasher, Pup. 3 point of EXP in the THird one and one in the second. I always get around 4300 HAM and they are awesome. Sell out every 2-3 days at 30K apiece.

Hey Astef I am still trying to master BE so all my creatures are pretty weak still like no armor or resists to speak of. I think just the good samples I used to make them is what makes the specials copme through. I made a few that are on the Coronet bazaar, but using almost the same ingredients(samples) many of the pets came out higher level. My formula was Picket or Bol for the physique and prowess, I used some arachne drones, or hatchlings for the mental, and other intellegence slot, and finished with a voritor sample for aggression. This I think is the one that affects it most, is the aggression slot, so if you use a less aggressive sample in this slot your creatures seem to be lower level. Like i say I am still really new to this, and just trying to figure it out myself, but anything to help out some other gamers. Hope this helps a little more.

PS by the way all my pets are selling on the bazaar in coronet for nothing over 6k, sincde they have major vulnerabilities and I haven't figured out armor or anything yet. I don't have a vendor so this is my only shoice at the moment, not trying to undercut anyone since obviously the quality of my pets is rather low still.

Guys there is a major problem I'm seeing with all of this and that I have had in my exp as an MBE. That is if you make a pet that it outside the boundries that SOE set during the last non ch pet nerf then when the pet is actually tamed and recalled it shows as "invalid" and you either have to choose to change the cl or the stats. With a 5k ham pet this will definatly raise the CL above 10 or lower the stats so much that that nice 5k suddenly turns into 750 HAM.

It happened to me when I was on my quest to make a non ch pet with more than 30% kinetic resists... it happened -every- time without fail.

That formula doesn't seem to work for me... I use those exact creatures as samples, and i get 12's and 11's once in a while i get a 10 and the HAM is no where near 4.3k Im really interested how you got that to work?! Im MBE btw just really curious how you got this to work.

Go get yourself afew Voritor Dasher DNA and huurton pups then add as follows VD-hp-hp-vd-hp OR vd-vd-hp-vd-hp . i used this formula and made 3 lvl 10 cupas with 3-6k ham with 40-50 dmg ..Hope this helps

Did you know you could take samples from the pets you made? When you do this the samples wont be as good so you'd have the same resists but less HAM from my understanding from the new BE guide on the site. Dont know if it'd work, but it'd be worth a shot i'd think if you main goal is cl 10.

First, you need to be careful. Cat skins can be aggro and can't be used by a non-CH. (not sure they all are aggro or not)

I use vd/vd/hp/hp/hp using better hp in the third slot and get reliable lvl 10s. If you use lower quality (or stats), it will drop it to an invalid level 6 or 8. When they are tamed, the system will either readjust the stats or the CL and leave you with junk. A 4-3-2 HAM seems to be reliable lvl 10.

Experimentation is more voodoo science. I use one on physical, one on mental, and one on aggression. But since exp has so many outcomes, it's a guessing game. It seems to be the biggest factor in creating invalid CLs, IMO.

I was making 2 lvl 10's for friends two days ago. Made four templates. Due to poor experimentation, two came out lvl 6, one 9, and one 10. The level 6's were both invalid and when I tamed them, they went to lvl 8 with very low intellect. I trashed em both. The only reason I could do this was because they were for friends and needed to be trained anyway. Otherwise, I'd end up with having to sell them at the starport since I had tamed them.

The system is screwed up big time. The test for CL should be on the crafting side, not on the taming side. The CL calc should just create the right level.

Folks,

The difference between someone wearing a Master Bio-Engineer tag and the true masters like Scorus, Sumorex, Lozareth, Mirrl and others is the extent to which they understand the cloning system.

Simply put, you cannot expect to blindly follow a recipe - even one that tells you exactly where to experiment - and expect to get a perfect result. Granted, you can blindly follow a recipe and create decent pets with it, but to be really successful there is just no shortcut around understanding what is happening. Each and every DNA sample you get is different. For example, I could combine 10 graul samples to make 2 different pets and experiment the exact same places both times and I would be guaranteed to get different results. The hardiness, fortitude, aggression, etc. etc. stats all matter when calculating CL, HAM, etc. and you have to learn to pay attention to what is happening during the crafting process and understand how far you can push it.

So, the real answer to the problem posted here is to document your results and study what happens when you experiment. If you put in the time and have the brains, you will be able create pets that truly stand out from those of your peers. You will almost never get spectacular results by throwing a bunch of crap together, randomly experimenting, and hoping for the best.

I know everyone wants an easy, quick answer, but there just isn't one.

The second one isn't close tomy best, but I like the HAM balance and specials. Note the light armor on the first.

In a nutshell, try to read everything in the BE forums that Sumorex or Mirrl ever posted and you'll be 70% of the way there.
