Thread: You know who you are.
the buyer was 'Greebo-MBH', if I remember correctly.
if you're the El K that _I_ know... you're just spreading rumors and tomfoolery.
if you're not, I apologize... to YOU. but not to Greebo-MBH.

of course... a half mil buyout for a common CL19 pet seems ambitious, and makes a 40k cred statue look pretty reasonable.
lol... /bow you are wise and resourceful...he was probably just made because he didn't think of it first.

Maybey you dont hang on the forums but im gonna have a little rant anyway
Its really weak to go around selling Rancors with 300 ham for 40k To the newbs. Then one of us other BE have to explain to him that he got screwed and no its not going to get any better then those stats. While he may have deserved it for not checking the stats before he bought it. Its Guys like you give the rest of us a bad name!
There my 2 cents im done.
- if the noob was dumb enough to buy the pet without looking at the stats.. he deserves it
- tell the noob that he got a good deal.. 40k is cheap in my book.I sell uber pets for no less than 500k... long story
- your dumb for coming to this board to 'yell' at your kin.. whats it gonna do preach'n to the choir?cause your right the person who made this pet DOES NOT CHECK THESE FORUMS.. and they are prolly selling 10k HAM non-ch pets too.. bastids
- please keep your 2 cents.. invest it, and wait for it to mature.. by that time you'll have something WORTHWHILE to put into our community piggy-bank.. till then we don't need your 2 cents so keep it to, or for, yourself.
That's unfair. Noobs are naive and don't have a concept of the game. What your saying is like justifying people who put broken composite on the bazaar in the hope that noobs will buy it. I did it when I started out. Hell I bought a bowcaster and started using it for 2 days until I realised it was race specific. Noobs need to be protected and selling something to them just to get their money is abusing their trust.

you aren't THE Ell' Kabong I know. that's fine, and you never pretended to be, but... you're not THE Ell' Kabong.
second:
grifts aren't new. scamming folks is old news... even before Barnum offered "This way to the egress", there have been suckers.
the trick to any scam is: to NOT be the sucker.
if you want a rancor, or a kimogila... and you've been ingame long enough to amass 40k creds... then you ought to understand some basic game mechanics (excepting eBay credit purchases... and then: why would you care? a cheater who doesn't know the system they're cheating deserves EVERY penalty that can be applied to them).
basic game mechanics state:
rancors and kimos aren't for noobs.
if you buy something, understand the stats it offers.
sure... if someone is running a scam, and you catch it... post it.
but look at the scam: 40k for a rancor with CL sub10 stats.
look at your OWN attempt at a scam: 100k minimum for a CL19 critter... which is not a prize, and not rare... with a 500k buyout. I think that you were looking for an easy 1 million... and I'd rather you try it the old-fashioned honest way than spend some REAL dollars to reward a duper or whatnot on eBay.
but what I'm seeing here is this:
someone makes a bad buy. they blame YOU, since you're a BioE, even though you aren't the BioE who 'cheated' them. you take it to the forums, looking for high ground, and forget your own attempts to make a fast cred.
unless the offending BioE ACTIVELY misled the buyer... the only victim, and the only perpetrator... was the BUYER. send them over to this forum for an instructive scolding if they disagree. if you make the mistake... OWN it. don't slander BioE's, and send them posting heedlessly on this forum, for a mistake that THEY made.
agreed... I had an FWG5 I bought off the bazar when you could actually buy decent things on the bazar for $3k ... used it for a day and realized it wasn't doing any damadge when I broke away from the group (yes we used to hunt in groups) and I got capped by a rill... condition 0

ROFL!
Yeah and if I "protected" every noob that came up to me I'd have no time to enjoy the game... Thats part of the learning experience... You guys seemed to learn from your mistakes, and you turned out alright... well maybe not GMANADNDDJDBND (jk, jk, jk
)
Its the only way the noobs will learn. besides... they prolly stood in cnet begging for money for ticket home to get the money to buy that pet.

Well I think the devs agree with me, why else would they put in a warning message before you buy anything ina backpack?

a backpack holds ??? with ??? stats.
any BioE deed clearly displays the associated stats on examination.
any weapon/armor/etc clearly displays the associated stats on examination.
the reason the devs put a warning message on backpacks is to protect ANY player from a scam... but if you don't know what condition 0/918 means, or where to look for it, the devs can't much protect you.
if 'the devs agree with you', then they'll put a 'buyer rating' on every item in the game, and it will reference the total stats vs the price of the item... and then someone will complain that it uses the wrong formula... and all THAT code will be useless.
players, new or old, need to inform themselves BEFORE they go shopping. outright scams are bad... but scams of ignorance, whether the buyer's or the seller's, are just a sign of an uninformed playerbase.

There is a reason why they put in the holocron... and include a manual in the box... and even built a profesion tutorial... if they had even looked at these things before jumping in and spending all that hard earned money they would have saved those hard earned credits...
its a learning experience.. we've all done it. I've purchased many things that I later figured out I couldnt use. Heck, my most recent was a pair of tusken boots that I bought for 10 mill (had Weponsmith mods on it) for my female toon... and sadly she couldnt wear them. I learned. I spent the money, big F*ing deal, but I learned something new about female toons (yay me... lol)
