Thread: A little bit of advice for making CL10 and under pets

I had a crack at this yesturday and one handy little tip I noticed is that it helps when you keep all of the stats on the template under 100 points. If you want to be a little more precise it seems that you are allowed around 230 total for each pair of stats (hardiness and fortitude ect..) before you start rising over the CL10 mark.

Just so you know.

Hmmmm interesting... definitely a good way to keep it under CL 10

However, as a novice with only 2/0/2/0, I was able to make a CL 10 bocatt by using the following formula:

Voritor Dasher/Voritor Dasher/Voritor Lizard/Voritor Lizard/Voritor Dasher

Made into a CL 13 dewback which I sampled, and put into:

Voritor Dasher/Voritor Dasher/Dewback/Voritor Lizard/Picket

I'm pretty sure all of these samples were above 250 for the HAM attributes

HOWEVER - the end kinetic was 2%, thats a big factor I'm sure in it coming in at CL 10.

It might not mean alot, but I think the kinetic resistance you had also plays a large factor. Wish I knew for sure. I'd love to make a 3k HAM 40% resistance CL 10 bocatt. But I think I'll just have to settle for mastering BE/CH and doing any level I can tame

Btw, I've found that if you can get a master CH to train it transfer, aggressive shells can be transfered to people without the viscious taming skill

OMG

If you've found a way of providing GOOD non-CH pets the the common people, you could seriously earn a lot of credits.

I, for one have given up on using any pets save a lesser dewback to ride, when I don't feel the need to use a vehicle. If you can provide me a pet that can actually do some damage, but stays under the level-10 barrier, I would very, very interested

Well using this system I made a CL8 critter with 17% to energy and kinetic, around 2700 for health and 850 for action and mind. Wasn't vulnerable to more than 3 damage types so on the whole it was a good result without using bugged dna. I did have to make it a second generation clone but the trick is to not use all of your experiment points up. In some cases you shouldn't use any infact.

Hang on, this is a rather important point that should be added to a FAQ somewhere. I had no clue this was possible:

Please note, I do have 0/0/1/0 CH

I don't have the skills to tame it in the wild, but I have novice CH. That might be the deciding factor.

If my friend is on tonight I'll try doing a transfer to him and seeing if it sticks.(can non-ch have more than one pet?)

I was able to make decent HAM, decent resist CL10 Kaadus last night usingBlurrg Hunter and Roba Runt DNA.

I might be simplifying this too much based on not enough data...

But when making low level creatures from DNA sampled from creatures with CL's from 15-30 I found that if I experiment in psychological... the break point was getting it over 60% on the template.

most defaulted in the 50s... Id put one point in psychological as a test. from 52-59% on the template.. I got a level 18-12 pet. The instant the percentage went over 60... I got a level 10 or under pet.

Actually turned out a level 7 pet with a 8900/3800/3000 ham bar.... knockdown and dizzy specials. Wish I could remember what I did though... dang...

I know it was made from Mature Snorbal, Gurk and Mountain Dewback dna... sadly I dont know the combinations.. I was just goofing around one night. Novice TKA in my guild now has a rather nice tank to play with.

Hope this helps.

I'd say thats probably more likely because you are getting moderate failures on those experimentation points, than the actual percentage.

What is your skillset?

I have seen many references to "bugged DNA" on the boards, particularly the Noxious Kamarith DNA, but I haven't seen a clear explanation of what the problem is. (Something to do with hidden resists, but what?)

My best CL 10 pet (CL 7, actually) I made last night had >7k action, and 23 kinetic and energy resists. Seems unbelievable. Before I accept money for this kind of beast, I'd really like to know that I'm not exploiting some bug that I don't know about. (The recipe did not involve Noxious Kamarith.)

Thanks!

Currently... 2-0-2-3 and none of the experimentation points were failures.... three were great successes and two were good successes. Few others didnt need experimentation at all... and were used moreas a control

Seemed to me more folks were worried about what dna went in that slot than what the template percentage was. Like I said... I didnt say Id figured it out.. was only reporting what I saw. I had a theory that the higher the psychological profile... the more docile the creature was... extrapolating into a lower CL(Dependant on CL of DNA mind you.). I havent worked with any very high level dna... and Im only sampling II at the moment.

I just thought it was an interesting result.... no more no less.

I'd say you only really need to look at wild animals to realise what are bugged low CL pets and what are genuine ones. When making that CL8 one I had a CL18 which was 4000 HAM which sounds about right. Typically a CL10 critter shouldn't exceed around 2000 HAM at the most. Remember that even CL50 is around 10k HAM give or take 2000. Scale it down and CL25 is around 5000 as an average. You shouldn't be able to exceed that with a CL10 clone.

I made a 2.5k ham gurreck with 50% kinetic resist from inbreeding graul DNA clones, personal record for me, he came out CL10, made another one that was 2.3k/3.3k/2.3k ham and same stats, no special attacks, just nice ham and kinetic
