Thread: A little bit of advice for making CL10 and under pets

I have noticed myself from inbreeding clones that although the HAM and CL seem to drop on each successive generation, I have been able to maintain the resists. It seems likely that one should be able to reach cl 10 eventually with the same resists of the base critter (which many have said that they have done.)

The question I have is: Does the Aggressiveness attribute come from the skin, or the DNA?

If I use all blurrg DNA and make a Woolymander, will it be aggressive? What about if I used all graul DNA to make a kaadu?

I'd say there is a wide variety of bugged dna out there. As much as a CL10 and undercritter with 3000 HAM and 50% resistances to kinetic sounds you have to agree that it simply sounds very very wrong when at the top end of the scale you have 12k HAMs. Therefore a CL10 critter should be around 2000 HAM at the very very most as long as the resistances are low.

That may be what the Devs intend, Tal, but such a pet would not be very attractive to a non-CH, particularly with the changes coming out in January to droids and their enhanced combat capabilities. That would pretty much dry up any non-CH market for BEs. All of this is just my opinion, FWIW

Not related directly to non-CH pets, but I am now doing a variety of experiments on just what the system is allowing us to accomplish vs. wild animals. I am currently sampling Bolle Bols (CL 27, HAMS of 7000-9000ish in the wild), using above average DNA in all slots and experimenting fully on Phys, then Prow, then Mind, with leftovers into Aggression and Psych. Thus far I have been able to consistently create CL 21-23 with HAMs of 6000-8000 and all resists/specials transferring over. This is with above average DNA.

Will next try with High and VHQ samples, but I suspect the HAMS will be considerably higher, at the same or lower CL than in the wild.

The real test will be to use other sources of lower CL DNA, experiment accordingly and see what the system is allowing us to accomplish currently. Plan on doing this with perhaps some sampled CL 10-15s in the wild and see what HAMS I can come up with vs. their wild counterparts.

i doubt this market for non cl level10 pets will dry up!! I am just starting to heaar about this and i want one very bad! I saw a link on the bloodfin board that showed level 10 woolemanders with like 6k hame and speacials a guy said he sells them for 1 million and i tell you I am considering trading my holocron to get on!

My 4k/3k/3k bocatt thats CL 10, with 2% kinetic is just that, a pet. Even though its HAM is a little high, I see that only advantage as being I can keep it along with me longer, without needing to heal or store it every time a gnort sneezes at me.

A true tank has over 5k HAM, and 40% + resists

A good tank has light armor and 8k HAM, and 50%+ resist to kinetic and can hold aggro.

These 6K are the pets that Tal-N is talking about, Juchi. If what he says is correct, then the non-CH petsshould be 2Kish HAM with low resists.4, 5 or 6K HAM would be out of the question. Not much holocron trade bait in a pet with 2K HAM

Further testing of what the current system is allowing us with1st generation clonesvs. wild (using all original DNA from one source and fully experimented Phys, Prow, Mental, Aggression and Psy, in that order) - all so far are great successes on experimentation:

1. Plains Hunter (CL31 wild, 9-10Kish HAMs, mostly 20% resists): CL 13 Gurrcat, all resists transfer plus 1 point to each and 9K plus HAMS across the board.

2. Another Bolle Bol from HQ samples (CL 27, 7-9K in the wild): CL 22 Bolle Bol, all resists the same and 7-8K HAMS.

I made a fluke CL10 Dewback for a friend from piket DNA...6k HAM, 5-25% resists...can't figure out for the life of me how I got it...total flukage

I have made a CL10 Kaadu out of piket plains walker dna. it came out with 2.3k health, 1.9k action, and 1.9k mind. It also had 40% resist to kinetic. I think it was a 3rd generation clone.

Back when I was a 3222 BE, I started futzing around and made a CL10 kaadu, with hams of 6.5K/3.8K/3K, 33% kinetic resist, knockdown and intimidate specials. I know it used bol and bol runner DNA, but other than that, I haven't a clue as to how I did it. It was the first pet I made under the changed system (I was grinding BE for my holocron) and I was just playing around. Needless to say, it's maturing in my datapad.

I haven't come close to duplicating it, even now that I'm a 4244 BE.

So it wasn't bugged DNA, it wasn't great experimentation...but I don't know what it _was_...

Well lets of course remember that the devs lowered the non-ch rating to CL15 because they said the pets were too powerful, now under this new system we're producing things more than twice if not three times as powerful as the original ones. If the devs do intend for us to be making pets that powerful then why the hell did they lower the cap to CL10 anyway when it's making utterly no difference on the whole to what we make in reguards to power.

Well, I paid a pretty penny for my rabbit that is lvl 8. It has 6100 Health and a bit less action and mind. Does 160-190 damage, has 20% resists to everything and does dizzy attack and strong poison attack. No armor, but I am not complaining.

I am just hoping I get to keep the thing without the nerf bat hitting me. It is still pretty much a baby and I haven't used it yet, but he sure is neat to have and makes my harvester runs less forboding.

I wish all the luck to the BE's. You now have a viable and profitable class to play and I hope you get all you were hoping for. Being even more broke than DE's you needed this boost.

Even with HAM stats in the 70's and 80's the *edit* things still come out to cl 12! Does the ranged attack have anything to do with it?

Ranged attacks don't tend to make much difference to the CL so no.
