I know this will be a "noone cares" issue, but after grinding like mad and reaching 3/3/1/3, I have decided to drop CH. It has become apparent that the devs are unable to make up their minds as to what CH is supposed to be. We're a combat class...no, we're not a combat class...oh wait, we're way too powerful, have to be nerfed...now we're a combat class...oh wait, still too powerful, need another nerf...

I'm sick of it. BTW devs, even without critters or master pistol's AoE KD, I still take red mobs solo. Fight smart.

Anyone want a couple of dragonets before they whack secure trade?

Reason that they don't have to make up thier mind is cause they know that people will still pay them no matter how much they change something and how bad they foul it up.

Heads-up on a change...

...unfortunately, it is probably one you won't like.

There are currently two tamable creatures that are unbalanced due to an abnormally high armor rating. The Gurreck & Giant Sand Beetle are going to have their armor changed from Medium to Light.

We're going to have to go through the armor ratings for all creatures, particularly tamable ones, in the near future, to catch any other glitches like this one.

Well its time I say good bye to my fellow commandos. I have been doing the holocron hunt and i have been able to keep commando. I probally could still but I have not had much being a commando the few months. Its not the nerfs or anything there just is no defined role for us in the game.

So tonight I dropped Master Commando and picked up droid engineer ( lol stupid holocron ). Also medic and pistoleer. Going to end up a pistoleer Master Doctor when all is said and done.

Good luck with the issues that commandos currently have and I am sure in some future time I will be back to the proffesion.

It will never happen, but I hope this is a wakeup call to the devs, and that they will get their act together and fix some of the issues that need fixed.

How many people need to quit playing before SOE figures out the problems their game is having? If I thought it would do any good, I would cancelmy account, but it won't. I have to keep holding on to the hope that they will fix things. I just hope I am not the last one standing.

sorry to see you go ivoni. no one has helped the struggling commandos skilling up more than you have. your strategy guide for this profession is amazing to say the least. your efforts on these boards to help others in this profession will be your trademark. alas, it will be sad to see you go.

I am very saddened to see Ivoni and Maddogs go... I have suspected that something was up based upon the lack of participation on the boards recently by a large number of the older commandos. I for one don't plan on throwing in the towel anytime soon, but if I get SL on my next holo after being bored to death through Musician, I just might go play on test when it is up.

It's a sad day indeed, I can't blame you one bit though Ivoni. I logged in tonight and sat around for a few minutes asking in guild chat if anyone needed help with anything, the answer was no so I just logged off because I'm sick of meaningless factional missions. I'm still suprised that so many still play this game because there really is no reason to group other than to PVP, oh wait...... i forgot the devs SCREWED THAT UP TOO!!!! with the decay crap. Just read the patch notes for testcenter and noticed nothing for commando's yet again, so i guess our proffesion is working properly with 2 skill tree's that work. I've been as patient as anyone waiting for this proff to get fixed, my patience like so many others is wearing thin. So if you've read this disgruntled, un-productive whinfest I apologize.

I hear ya Ivoni..... I see myself unfortunately shortly behind you.

I have no interest in the Jedi slot yet I have 3 holocrons ( friend quit the game and gave them to me ).

I'm a pvp'er... my entire template is built around pvp, I have no need for exp anymore. PvP is not rewarding past knowing your opponent suffers a 1% decay after they give you a hate tell. (5% if they didn't insure).

I go into battles severly outnumbered and usually come out on top because nearly everyone else spends their time pve because the gcw is broken. There is maybe 5 people on my server that when I go into combat I worry about. The others it's just a matter of time before I take them down.

It's pretty ridiculous.

For instance: Today I walked into lake retreat from killing all the rebels farming holocrons at the base south of lake retreat. I found a group of 20-25 overt rebels, I managed to take out about half of the group before I was finally killed. I cloned in Theed and found out I was walking through walls and such. I exited the cloning fac, walked back in, got rubber banded out. Relogged.... ok fixed. Then I decided to go into moenia and wreak some havok. Ported into the shuttle port, took down 5 rebels swiftly. Found a 6th in the starport, as we came within 5m of each other we both got stuck. literally we were standing there 5m apart unable to move, I flamecone2 him. Still can't move. relog... ok can move again. Run out of the starport. Find 6-7 rebels charge at them, I duck behind a wall yet I'm getting hit on the other side of it. Get incapped, see a big floaty number of something insane of -3700dmg that I recieved after about 45 seconds of shooting ( I did not fire off one shot ). Then I find myself back inside the starport.

Got frustrated and that was the end of my day of swg.

I don't know if I'll make it to mid-january at this point.

I cant say that i knew you very well, or even at all but from what ive read you did a great job helping the commando profession out. Its a sad thing to see you go but then i wonder how much longer even I can stick around.

I hit master commando a few days ago and already im bored with the game. There isnt anything left to do. So i decided to go try and get my jedi slot opened. My first holo told me to master pistoleer, i just started it and im already tired and bored of the constant grind to get xp. Its so redundant and tedious. Im desperatly hoping and wishing that the devs will add some content and fix the game, but i fear that will be way way off in the distant future because right now the most urgant thing to fix is decaying wedding rings*sarcasm*.

I dont blame you for going, if this game doesnt get fixed and have some content added when World of Warcraft comes out then ill definetly be following your example and taking my leave of this game too.

I really didn't think this day would come, but I've finally come to the point that I no longer enjoy this game. It's sad when I enjoy reading the forums more than playing the game. I just can't see the point in paying for something monthly that doesn't give me any enjoyment.

So, before I delete my account and lose access here I wanted to thank all of those who have supported me and given all the useful helpful tips in the past. It was really fun exploring a new game and trying to help fix its myriad of problems.

And if for some reason a dev actually reads this and wonders why, let me explain.

I am disappointed with what the game actually is. It went from thinking it was an improved EQ in a star wars environment to The Sims in Space and Pokeman Wars.

The lack of proper priorities is completely unacceptable to me. Are you aware that it has been FIVE MONTHS and so many aspects of this game are still patently broken. Take the HAR for an example. Or turrets. Or the entire Squad Leader class.

The sheer joke that is the quest system. There is now ONE quest in game with rewards (RIS armor), however (of course) it is bugged.

The poor excuse that is opening the force slot. 5 to 7 random professions are picked for you to master. That's it. Thunderheart used the wrong adjective in saying it was surprising. PATHETIC. This route has nothing to do with playing the game or exploring its content.

The wretchedness that is the jedi itself. Short of the coolness factor, it's just another melee class with (gasp) patently broken aspects. Then toss in the fact that you can only die three times and lose not only all your skills but everything on you and in the bank. Why PvP with jedi? It would be one thing if it took 20 people to take down a jedi, but it only takes one with knockdown. And that would be the bounty hunter who has nothing to lose by dying but gets to hunt you for 150k.

And lets not forget the insanity to get master jedi. It takes 14,820,000 COMBAT XP. Yeah, almost 15 million. Of course there's also the apprentice xp to get Master jedi. LOL.

Then there the joke that is their programming. How many features have been removed and never fixed and put back? Group options? Autoloot? Corpse Runs? Instead of fixing the code which makes you do a corpse run if you don't pay insurance, they decide to add death decay. And why death decay? Oh because they can't fix the bug which is why they removed corpse runs NOR can they come up with code to make things decay naturally.

The joke that is strategy. There isn't any. Send in the graul, add dot, wait. New changes on tests to Krayts now mean no one can kill them (300k ham) Where is the class interdependance?

The pathetic implementation of the PvP civil war. Really, what point is there to it?

The joke that is the correspondant program. It's merely a placebo and not utilized at all. Those who read their forum when it was open saw this.

Oh, and the final straw for me was finding out that I can't place items in my house stolen from a quest. Then reading it isn't a bug but intentional.

It's so hard to write all this without coming off as a whine. In short I am just disappointed with this game. So much potential and yet so much broken and not prioritized to be fixed. I see nothing on the upcoming horizon to see any changes worth waiting for.

If I read that every programmer was pulled off of future content and put towards fixing all the bugs and fixing the game...maybe.

As it stands I literally have played every combat class, done every quest, killed one of every monster npc.

And that was 2 months ago. 90 days is all you need to explore all the content.

Unless of course you want to become a master jedi. But you can never use your force powers or fight anything remotely difficult as you will die 3 times before you get 15 million combat xp. So really, what's the point?

Thanks for listening and all the support in the past. Someone else can kill the bunnies.

Good use of my favorite Author...and Just as I miss Douglas Adams, you till will be sorely missed Ivoni...It's sad to see that the game has soured your experience so...And I, as well as I'm sure the horde of posters behind me, wish you the best and hope desperately that you return to us soon (we will hold out hope)...

For me, I came into this game with absolutely no expectation beyond playing a game that was SWG related...and since I have little experience with other Online Games (beyond Sims Online) I am still very happy with my experiences...But I agree, a lot needs to be fixed and we will keep striving to see those issues fixed.

Take Care...Thanks for Everything...And Don't Forget Your Towel!!!
