Were you aware there is an in game knowledge base that people can use to get answers to thier questions? Not everyone does. The CSRs have been working to update this knowledge base and are looking for player feedback to help make it more useful. When you have some time you can access the KB by doing the following in-game.

Press Control-H to pring up the Holocron

Find the Customer Support button and click it.

You know have a couple search fields that you can use to search the KB either by keywords or a specific article if you know the number.

You can also access the database here:

Both the in-game and web interface access the same database.

The correspondents have been plugging away at this for a bit now, but it's time for your help. If you take a look and see anything, incorrect, missing answers or simply not there and you think it should be, please submit the question with the corrections or answers (if you know the answer).

Thank you for kicking off this post Talthazar. The Knowledge Base in game is quickly growing to cover more and more topics and provide the most accurate information possible. On a daily basis entries are published to the Knowledge Base and any errors that are located are fixed and published.fficeffice" />

The exciting thing about the Knowledge Base is that the response time for the entries can be so swift. If you locate an error in the Knowledge Base and bring it to your correspondent we can fix it and have the corrected version in game within hours or even minutes of receiving that information. Any gaps in the Knowledge Base can also be quickly filled.

I’ve asked your correspondent to start a thread like this for two reasons. First the Knowledge Base is very important to us, but right now it is under utilized. I’m working with the Correspondents and the Developers to increase awareness for the Knowledge Base. Soon we’ll be changing some things in game to make the Knowledge Base a lot more visible.

That brings me to my second reason for coming to you – information that is as complete and accurate as possible. When the Knowledge Base becomes more prominent it will be vital for it to be as complete and accurate as possible. We have been working internally and with the Correspondent program to comb the Knowledge Base and add new entries. We would really appreciate it if you could point out anything that you find to be in error, out dated, or simply missing. If you think a question needs to be asked that’s not here please post it, or send it directly to your correspondent. We’ll work to get as many into the Knowledge Base as we can.

Thank you for your support and we really hope that you find the Knowledge Base to be a useful source of information. Please keep in mind that the Knowledge Base is intended to provide information about systems and policies but will not provide direct spoilers.

For quick answers to many game play questions, you may want to first reference the knowledge base located in the Holocron Menu. You can do so by selecting the customer service option and then using the knowledge base tab. We have recently added hundreds of new FAQs and answers and more will be added more daily, so give it a try!

What he's probably looking for is information regarding what the DNA stats mean and how they affect a clone (sort of like the crafting explanation that was posted a while back.) An advance guide would be nice *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

Also there is an out of date entry:
Here is the solution: Star Wars Galaxies: What is a DNA Template?
A DNA Template is a component that every Bio Engineered creature requires. They all look exactly the same except for their names ("Kimogila DNA Template," etc.) and each take 5 DNA samples from any creature.

Here is the problem or goal:
What is a DNA Template?

The template is generic now of course.

I see there is as much information on the creature creation system in the Holocron as on the website and in print. None whatsoever.

What questions did you ask the Knowledge Base? Let me know what information you're searching for and I'll do my best to track it down and put it in there (as long as its not a "spoiler")

There is an updated solution for What is a DNA Template live now. I suggest you take a look and let me know what you think.

There are a couple of things in the answer that needed to be said. Nothing that someone that has used the system hasn't already figured out, but stuff that a completely new BE would benefit from.

That said, it is the tip of the iceberg. What we need is a full explanation of this:
"Quality of the DNA used in making a DNA template plays an important role in the abilities of the final creature created."

How? If a Weaponsmith wants to raise the damage of the weapon he is making, then the resources that he needs and the areas that he should be experimenting on are all spelled out. If a BE wants to raise the damage of the creature he is making, there is no guide whatsoever as to which of the DNA stats he is using he should be focusing on when selecting the components nor which of the categories he should be experimenting on.

The same is true with every other category for the creature creation. There is no documentation whatsoever as to what does what when selecting DNA and deciding what to experiment on. How do I maximize/minimize HAM? damage? to hit? resistances? armor? Am I able to control whether the pet will take orders or stay in combat by manipulating the psychological aspects? If not, what do they do? Raising certain stats seems to raise CL while others don't, is that working as intended? Some special attacks cannot be added to a creature, is that working as intended?

I could go on and on. There are 10 different stats (besides resists, armor, etc.) on a single dna sample and there is nothing whatsoever to tell us what each of them are and do. Nor is there anything to tell us what the more general experimental categories do.

Some suggestions for new questions:
What do the different stats in a dna sample mean? (answer would list all 10 with explanations)
What effect do the experimental options on a dna template affect? (answer would list all 5 and explain what successful experimentation in them affect)
What categories can I raise without raising the cl of a creature I am making?
How do I create a creature with armor?
How do I determine which special attacks a creature will end up with?

How about info on the Special Attack 1, Special Attack 2, and Ranged Attack... Which slot transfers these attributes to the template? Why the cloud of mistery? No other profession has to guess so much about crafting than we do. This information should not be concidered a "spoiler"! I can't get any consistant results from my experiments (and I have wasted sooooo much time and resourses) If it is random, just tell us that so we can stop wasting our time.

Thank you Scorus! Nothing like CSR coming in telling experienced BE's to RTFM....

CSR, why don't you pick up Bio Engineering and then use the in game KB. Doesn't help much now does it?

**Sorry, but for some reason, the response given just really $%#@*# me off!**

I don't mean to imply that the information for the Bio Engineer is complete, just that we added some new information that we hoped to get some feedback on - did it help? There are a lot of Bio Engineer Knowledge Base questions in the works and I hope to see them live very soon. We'll keep working with this community, and the other communities, to make the Knowledge Base as comprehensive as possible.

You have to understand the frustration at getting a new system and then being told two months later that the documentation for it is in the works. Programming without documentation is just plain bad programming. Especially after the dev apologized so profusely the first time he did this. We need results, not crocodile tears.

Hi David, Could you look at the FAQ stickied to the top of this forum? What we are looking for is something that is both more complete in information than that FAQ and official. By official I mean is a blessed version of how the system is supposed to work. (Our current FAQ being as close a guide as we have been able to currently determine to how it acutally works). I think you will find that after all the work this community has done, that we will be disappointed in any knowledge base that is less complete than our ownFAQ. The only quick sop that might hold would be a guide to how CLworks withcloning.
