Thread: is it wrong to...
I was thinking the other day about the things that are good about Bio Engineering. And well I came up with one thing... Pet Stims. Ok so we have one good thing. Oh and the numerous request for kimogila's as house pets. But I noticed when pricing My pet Stims i have made them higher priced because of all the stress of the profession. Is it wrong for me to increase My prices because I have a difficult and obviously broken Profession that is completely neglected and unappreciated? Out of all the things I can create I have to rely on pet stims to keep me some what fluent. gone are the joys of walking up a creature and sampling it and having it fall over dead at My feet. now im left with nothing but confusion over which types of dna samples to use in a template, where to put my experimentation points when crafting , if in final creation the expermintation values should drop from 16% to 9%. Is it so wrong that we be compensated in some way for all the crap that we go through. I finally made Master, your right its going to cost you all !
On a side note, I have tried experimenting to make some what better creatures and well Im still rather confused.
a) when making a lvl 15 pet is it better to use dna from creatures higher than a lvl 15? (lvl 15 is just an example) If this is the case then how would we ever be able to make enhanced rancors with the way sampling is right now, I would never be able to get dna from a lvl 50 or higher creature.
b) I noticed some times when I put the 5 samples in I get really high agression and pyshcological values but little to nothing under pyhsic and metal. Is there a certain way samples should be going in? How do you know what is best to use (ie what stats do you look at when putting a sample into one of the slots, there are 10 stats on each sample are they divided a certain way?)
As to cloning concerns. Yes, it is better to use CL 15 DNA for a CL15 creature. It is even better to use a CL 30...Cl 50...etc DNA on a CL15 creature. I wouldn't get to worried about the current state of sampling. I don't think it will last more than a couple of days, a week at the most.
There is a generally accepted template for Which DNA should go into which spot which I will briefly outline for you:
???(can't think of name [1st box] -- look for high values in Hardiness and Fortitude
Prowess [2nd box]-- look for high values Dexterity and Endurance
Mental [3rd box]-- look for high values in Intelligence and Cleverness
Psychology [4th box]-- look for high values in Dependablity and Courage
Aggression [5th box]-- look for high values in Fiercness and Power
**You also want to pay attention to Quality of DNA sample.
****I believe lower stats in HQ DNA may be better than higher stats in AVG DNA. (just my personal belief, mind you)
The above goes from left to righ top to bottom
[??][Pr]
[Me][Ps]
[Ag]
I personally do not think that this is a complete template for how it works. I've had to many abnormalities that it can simply not explain. I'm also not going to spend any time trying to figure out the true system since it will all likely change the next BIG disas....ummm I mean patch. (j/k devs...I really don't have as many gripes as others). The system works well enough for the mean time.
Hope it helps. Enjoy
Please replace ???? with Physical, since I was to blind to see it in your post =D
Yes it's wrong, you'll go blind....reads post...oh, ok
There's nothing wrong with charging for time and effort. It's a game, a profession in a game, you are under no moral obligation to provide community service. You don't have to sell a single pet stim if you don't want to, or you can charge any price you want, though if it's too high customers will complain, too low other BE's will complain. Still it's a game, for entertainment purposes only.
Yes you need to use DNA from a creature that is higher level than what you're creating in order to get good results. That will be the answer to both a) and b). How to make a super rancor? Don't know, never tried, though sampling is supposed to get fixed....again. And b) is a common symptom of using inferior DNA. Use the good stuff and you'll see the middle stats rise. The stats are divided so that each two corresponds with a certain stat, in order, except for aggression which appears on top in the percentages but on the bottom where the stats appear.Usually you can pick out which two based on the name. Can't think of all ten at the moment. Don't forget to put a point or two into psychology or your animal will be an embarassingcoward.
And never assume that because something doesn't make sense in this profession that it can't really be that way. There's a lot of stuff, like milk, that doesn't make sense. Kinda like me at the moment. It's three in the morning and I'm still awake.
Thats what I call dirty work. And I love every minute of it.
Who do you think is footing the bill in the Jedi Purge? It isn't the Rebellion, it is the Deep pockets of the Empire.

Good point. But you also have to look it at it as I'm only hunting Jedi, not Sith. I consider all Imp Jedi to be Sith (although I know its not technically what they are but still). So there is another view I have.
Again, Palpatine only wants TWO Sith. Even if you use that judgement, which can be shot so full of holes, you are forgetting the one element about it. A Master and an Apprentice. No more Sith than that. This is fundamentally why Jedi should be removed from the GCW. Who's to say that a Light Jedi cannot be Imperial? Under the mechanics of SWG, no they cannot, but since you want to use the RP element, why not this factor?
Face it, the Jedi were duped by Palaptine for 20+years. Is it far fetched to think a Jedi would still serve what he saw as the "Republic"? As a true Sith, Palpatine's only goals were the destruction on the Jedi and gaining ultimate power over the universe. He acheived both goals, and he wants to keep it that way, hence the bounties on your "Imperial Jedi".
A Sith Apprentice's only goal is the destruction of his/her master and ascension to the role of Sith Master. Palpatine eliminating ALL of the Jedi, "Dark" or otherwise, serves one purpose...To maintain himself as Master of the Sith. If Vader has no possible Apprentices, he is less likely to be struck with the ambition of usurping his Master.
You do not hunt Imperial Jedi because they are your "friends". You want an RP reason why, as a rebel, that I do hunt "Rebel Jedi"? Here is mine...they draw far too much attention to the Rebellion with their visible actions. We are supposed to be underground, not flashing sabers in Starports or the like, or running around in Padawan robes or what have you. You don't see guerilla fighters walking around with armbands, carrying flags, letting people know they are insurgents, right? Not the smart ones anyway.
