Thread: CH boards
What would really help the CH profession is if the high-level rare creatures were actually a bit better than anything BE's could make. That would mean that every CH would be using BE pets until they mastered CH and finally found a high-level rare pet.
Well Green,
I'm not one of the CH bashing BEs. I think, on a whole, the BE class has done well. Yeah, there are some ripoffs out there, but no one is being forced to buy from them either. And I'm far from one of the 'kiddies' either, my daughter is old enough to play this game by herself. I actually like the tame/train aspect of CH but of course have to do combat for income and sellable resources.
Since I was a medic, I decided to grind enough meds to qualify for novice BE, just to see what makes it tick. Didn't realize I needed a PHD in theoretical math, but sure feel that way!
Anyway, the BE bashing is really the result of CH being mutilated by the devs. In around a month, CH lost the ability to really sell anything and vehicles killed the mount business.Pets that were effective became display pieces. And the non-CH level drop to 10 pretty much killed a better part of the market. Aspects of those changes hurt the BE class too, in some respects.
I think the two professions should be tied together more; maybe even where CH's provide the baby to the BE in place of the template. The BE could then either sell the pet or the CH could pay the BE for the enhancements and sell or keep the pet. just one thought.
If any Ahazi BE's are interested, I love the Plains Hunter skin and the Narglatch, so send me an email in game on prices and stats if you could please and thankyou.

I went there and they are complaining about the pets they can tame and the fact that they do not do well in battle.
I dunno, creature handler is an extention of scout, not combat, and as such is more of a combat support class (like ranger) than a combat class now. If you compare CH to ranger it's so overpowered it's absolutely obscene. Also, if you look at how much "bang for your buck" you get with dabbling into a little CH now, it's pretty staggering. My alt as 2-0-1-2 and a CL 21 lightly armored tank. My god, what a difference having THAT makes. so I don't buy the argument that CH is underpowered. Overpowered maybe, but no complaints from me, I love it. But comparing someone with CH andnothing else, to TKA, well yea, duh, that's not gonna work too well.
I completely disagree with this statement and you've misunderstood the people are are truly CH at heart. The people complaining about the lack of tamables are not the ones that got into for the power of CH. The peoplewhowant it for power are the very same ones coming to us for pets, they don't care where they get the pets they just want them to be uber. The true CH's get pets not because they're powerful but for the thrillof tracking them down and taming them and watching them grow up to be companions. These are the people that aren't as likely to buy a BE pet anyway and these are also the type of people most dissapointed in the lack of power and variety in wild creatures.
They are some of the ones yes, when they realise they can't have armor, 12k of HAM, 600+ damageand 60% to everything at CL30 thats when you see what kind of customer they are. The ones which say 'well that sucks then' are the the kiddie-handlers, the ones which reasonably ask what is possible and agree that it's reasonable are the respectable creaturehandlers. Sure there are those who go out to collect he species, those people are also a credit to the profession. However you can bet that the people who claim they are underpowered at the most vocal on the CH forum so it simply seems like the majority. However the fact remains is that they currently represent their community so it's no wonder myself and other see the CH profession as being dominated by whiners who don't understand the first thing about gameplay balance.

A sizeable chunk of the CH profession are kiddies who know that if you want to solo some of the big game in SWG then the CH is the way to do it, they have it in their heads that they should be allowed to solo utterly anything they want and that having pets should be the equivilent of grouping with other players. You can't help these kids, they'll moan and complain until they're blue in the face ultimately throwing a temper tantrum when they don't get what they want. Thankfully alot of the kiddie-handlers left with the last major rebalance but a few still remain and others arrive all the time.

Very well put Talthazar. And don't forget that CHs are confined to what babies spawn, not just the variety of wild creatures. So although there may be a bunch of powerful wilds out there, they don't all spawn babies and many of those that do are extremely rare.
"A sizeable chunk of the CH profession are kiddies"
Is it any wonder why the animosity and bad attitudes continue... When the BE's can't even refraim from fueling the fire...
