Thread: Don't rip me off!
I'm a Master Chef on Chimera trying to provide good quality food to people for a good price and I have to say that you BE's are really not helping! BE's are trying to ramp up their prices on these Nutrients and as a result the food prices go up! This is not good for me as a chef, my customers and ultimately you, the BE’s!
Now I know that a lot of people are going to flame me for this post, but I feel that this issue has to be floated for the community to discuss.
I'm selling foods for the following prices:
Light Addictive Foods: 50k credits per crate of 25
Medium Addictive Foods: 70k credits per crate of 25
Heavy Addictive Foods: 90k credits per crate of 25
The only exception to this is the Brady that everybody is buying like crazy (but I’m seeing sales going down of late), which I'm selling for 200k credits per crate of 25 and accounts for most of my sales!
All the food that I sell is bio-enhanced and I will not pay more then the following for BE Nutrients:
Light: 25k credits per crate of 25
Medium: 35k credits per crate of 25
Heavy: 45k credits per crate of 25
To turn these into foods, I have to add either 10, 15 or 20 units of water to it before it can be used as an ingredient.
I also have to gather all the resources for the foods that I produce and as noted before by other chefs, I need about 6 days worth of factory time to produce 20 crates of Brandy! To make all this happen, I (and my partners in the ETTC) have the following equipment:
2 x Merchant tents, each with 3 vendors in for sales
6 x Medium Naboo houses used as warehouses to store pre-built components and raw resources
2 x Clothing factories
5 x Food factories
3 x General item factories
4 x Heavy water Harvesters
3 x Ion Generators
6 x Heavy Flora Farms
6 x Heavy Mining Installations
Running this lot is a full time job!
Now I don't mind paying 50% of my food costs to the BE's who produce us the Nutrients, but I do get very annoyed when I get charged more then this because it starts pricing our foods out of the reach of the average adventure! We're not just producing Brandy, but other foods that don't sell as well too!
We’ve been doing this now for a while and although we have a lot invested in capitol expenditure, we don't have a lot to show for it! So please, please, please don't rip us off! I know that you have a few resources to harvest your self, including things like meat - but remember that it's easier then what I'm doing as a Chef as I too have to harvest meat for certain foods! You get paid for all your stuff in one go and can gather the resources needs to make 1000 items in a single evening's playing and get paid 1.8million credits for your trouble (OK, so you have another day in a factory to make your end product), but I have to sell my food on vender and that takes time before I get all the money back on items.
As I said, I well annoyed with people trying to make a quick buck and rip me, other chefs and general players off, so I'm going to become a BE myself (it doesn't take too long anyway, about a week if I work at it) so will be able to produce the addictives for a better price and as a result lower the prices on my foods and get more cash to show for my labours at the end of the day! I wanted to use existing BE's out there for my addictives, but you've all just priced yourself out the market and have hurt not only honest chefs, but also the average player who buys my product!
Omisk,
Master Chef of the ETTC
I'm sorry to say it but there are two factors to consider here:
1) It's all about supply and demand, that's how a good economy works and quite frankly the demand for BE tissues is high.
2) If pricing seems too steep i guess you had better make a BE friend (not someone you only call on when you need something) and work on that pricing issue firsthand.
Point to this whole thing being this. We will charge what we think you will pay and as long as the money comes in the prices wont drop.
Why did you even bother to post? You start off telling BEs not to rip you off, then you say you're going to become a BE to keep from getting ripped off. You've solved your own problem. No need to tell us about it.
But good luck with your endeavor. I'm certain you can master BE in a week and still have time to service all your equipment. Making MBE is a walk in the park. And once you are one, you'll easily be able to collect the20,000 units (minimum) of meat you'llneed to make 1000 itemsin a singleevening. We do it all the time, but don't tell anyone--it's our dirty little secret. In fact it is so easy to make BE tissues and components that the only reason that prices for them is high is the fact that we all collude to keep prices high. Just don't tell the other chefs, they might get upset with us and all decide to become BEs.

Wow...you have to put an extra touch of water to make additives...and the water quality doesn't matter one little bit.....
6 days for brandy is BS....no chef food out there, enhanced or not, takes more than a day to produce a 1k batch of...chefs got all their items reduced drastically in complexity, which equates to super-short factory runs. The master chef I supply picks on me because every time I supply her with medium tissues, she has the additives and brandy done before I can even get the next batch of tissues run....and that's when I start the new batch immediately.

Might be best to just get a schematic made so you can produce the BE additives yourself. I know a few that will do this for 10k, and even some for free on Bloodfin. Then you can pay for the materials and (in essence) set your own price on the additives. Of course, it may take some looking around to find a MBE that will do this for you, but if it saves you money in the long run and in turn passes savings to your customers, why not?

Sure, i'll sell you my schematic of 86 for 2 mill.
LOL
That schematic post was funny. In actuality BE's are getting wise to schematics as well. ![]()
I'd just have to ask the original poster one simple question. Why do I care what you sell your product for? This isn't a flame its just a simple question. The resources I use to make tissues has a value. If I were to sell those resources on the market I'd get paid a price, whatever the market rate is. Whether I hunt myself or buy the resources that value still applies. Why in the world would I discount that value just because you sell your product forless thanmarket value?
Its not like I was poor before chef additives came about. I make good money selling animals and pet meds. I have tailors that buy my product and appreciate me. Mind you, the chef enhancements are a nice addition to my product line but if chef tissues went away I don't think I'd be greatly affected by it. I set my price for my products. I made it so I get to say how much it sells for. I don't tell you what to sell your brandy or whatever else you make for. How dare you come here and dictate my prices to me.
I agree with the majority of the BE posters.Adjust your pricing. The chef foods are awesome and people will paygoodfor them.If people can't pay for the large crates of food sellfoods by thesingle item. It's like any vice....once they use it and know it works, they will be back for more....no matter what the price is. And, also consider your server economy....as a Chef in business...you may be severely hurting the market for other Chefs who are trying tomake a little dough (no Pun intended...hehe). Keep that in mind.
If you want to spend the skill points to acquire BE then that is your business. From a business standpoint,I know that if things are priced incredibly low, there must be some flaw or the person has zero business sense. If the"no business sense applies", and you sell your stuff for considerably less than the going rate, you will be up to youra$$ inalligators trying to fill orders, you will get burned out and crabby. At some point you will come around, eat the proverbial, raw and bitter "Crow" and adjust your prices to going market rate.
Good luck in your endeavors....no flame intended. Just good advice.
