Thread: Toward a Naming Convention for BE Pets

I would like to start a thread to come up with a standardized naming convention for BE pet deeds. I will start by sharing my methodology. Comments welcome.

I use the following convention:

CL21 Razor Cat 6K HAM 230 DAM 40 KIN 40 ENE Dizzy Stun Ranged

When I put these pets on my vendor, the user can click on Item Name tab to see all pets grouped by CL. This helps since they can only use certain CL pets.

If there is a range of HAM values, I may use 4-6K HAM to indicate this. In some cases where the Health value is way out of range I use 2134 HLTH.

I use the highest Damage rating.

I only list KIN and ENE, since these are the most used resists. I dont care if a pet is 70 BLAST, I have never encountered that damage type.

What system do you use and why?

LOL, good idea. I just put the pet on the vendor as is. I figure the customers can look at the details screen to se info on ones they like.

As the number of pets on a vendor increases, just having pet species names becomes unhelpful. Yes, it does encourage browsing, but that is for Merchant XP, not BE sales.

A good idea.

I have my own naming scheme.

I use
L57 Light Armor 60k/45e Ranged - Gurrcat

Format, the 60k/45e is just the 2 resists I list, kenetic and energy. ANd I note any of the good specials, Ranged/Poison/Disease/KD/Dizzy.

I do:

Dewback CL 10 by Rydezzy

That way they can see what kind of pet they want, what the CL is and who made it...

For me its very similar except that i list all the ham stats like so

For example: CL21 Razor Cat H6000 A4000 M3000KIN40%EN40% Dizzy Stun Ranged

I do wonder though if its necessary to list all three ham stats as people are mostly concerned about the health followed byaction.

i just do cl first

i'll do either lvl32 gurrcat or nonch kaadu and sometimes a novicech if it's a decent lvl 1-12 pet that a starting ch could use

or sometimes, i'll have a brain fart and use cl32 gurrcat instead of lvl32 but oh well..... i figure they'll look at most of the pets anyways cause most people are nosy

CL20 4500 210 Dizzy strike Bordok
CL20 4800 230 Stunning and Dizzy strike Bearded Jax
CL38 10000 320 Ranged Strong poison Blinding strike Huurton
CL42 10900 480 Stunning strike Intimidation Roba
CL49 11200 500 Light armor Ranged Intimidation Shear mite

Some of the pets I have for sale now. I think the title covers what pets they are. I like putting the skin at the end cause that makes the reading easier. Also when HAM is a lot apart I take a sort of average, or at least a bit below the max.

I name my pet deeds as:

Lvl 10 Gurreck 120201

The number behind is my own 'serial number', as I offer refunds to people in case their pets suddenly become invalid. I ask them to provide me this number so I can check my records to see what went into the pet.

Unfortunately I get disconnected a LOT, and when I do I loose whatever I'm crafting, so I constantly have to try race to the finish button... it's quite harrowing espcially when dealing with 2nd and 3rd gen clones!

I have developed a trade name for my products, so all of my items start with that, then I just add what is important, and what would make things sell. Ie

Happy Fun non-CH Kinetic/Blast 14% Knockdown/Dizzy Gurrek

or

Happy Fun lvl 35 Armored Kinetic Resisting Knockdown/Intimidate Vir Vur of Doooooom!

I keep telling myself to be more specific when naming, but I usually forget. When I do remember, I name them according to their specials, like a level 40 Gurreck with AR1, dizzy and strong poison would be CL40 Armored Noxious Delerious Gurreck, LoL.
