I have had a search and can't find any info on it. I have a BE pet and it can do crippling strike as a special attack. Since i have not got that skill box to tell it to do this yet can anyone explain what Crippling Strike actually does?

Its a posture change attack, knocks your posture down 1 stage (as opposed to Knockdown which just knocks things over completely).

Oh and in case anybody thinks that cripple is useless compared to knockdown, make a pet with cripple and dizzy, once dizzy lands the enemy will be spending most of the fight on its butt.

LoL, that happened to me for the first time from a creature last night. A Slinking Voritor Hunter landed a dizzy, then knocked me to my knees, and when my next attack came up on my queue, I fell flat on my ass and just lay there.

I've never actually seen a pet perform knockdown against another creature...does it actually work? I've heard that no Crippling Strikeattacks work against creatures at all, from pets or players.

I think Crippling also slows movement. I can't prove it, but my pet with crippling never has to chase an enemy quickly, and when it is forced back, it is a vey, very slow pursuit. I find it invaluable in keeping a fight from spreading to another spawn. Assuming that is what is really causing hte slowdown.

Don't know about players, but it does work against creatures in the wild. My Gurreck has Crippling Strike as one of his specials and uses it regularly against targets (he'd use it more if the CH commands to trigger specials actually worked, but that's another problem). You have to have the creature under attack targetted and watch the posture icon fairly closely to see it happen, the icon will change from standing to kneeling. There are no obvious changes to the mob posture however, which is why it's easy to miss.

The posture change only lasts one, maybe two combat cycles. But, since all mobs are melee, during the cycles when they are kneeling they do no damage. The other problems seems to be it's highly resisted, so even though the Gurreck will generally try a Crippling Strike at least one against every mob it fights, it doesn't always work.

My kingdom for an edit button. That last sentence should be:

The other *problem* seems to be it's highly resisted, so even though the Gurreck will generally try a Crippling Strike at least *once* against every mob it fights, it doesn't always work.

I've been wondering this for awhile and have finally decided to ask. What exactly does it do? Does anyone have multipliers or numbers or anything like that? Thanks.

And it only works on people types. You won't see it working on a piket or other animal.

Yes, it should be working on command.
