With all the changes coming in the patch will it be possible to take one of the mount skins (eg bol, kaadu, dewback) and make a cl60+ pet with good kinetic resist and decent specials to use as both a mount and a main PVE pet?

If so I look forward to riding my cl70 kaadu with 12k+ ham, light armour and 75% kinetic res (oh and strong poison and intimidate wouldn't hurt either )

I hope its possible. The only problem I can see is that your models might grow too big to make a mount if you push the clvl really high. Remember you have to stunt the growth of giant carrion spats at lvl 7 in order to ride them.

Hmmm might brackaset be the best bet then since they already hit cl30?

You would hope that the Dev's thought of this and made it so when you train the creature as a mount that the growth would stop before it got too big. You would hope anyway

guess it depends on the cap of the mounts. I wouldn't go as far to think they thought of what would happen if can get a Bol to 60. We would do it, they would say ack, then a patch come in to fix it 2 mounths later after everybody got good and used to it.

While we're on the subject... I see alot of talk about having to stunt the growth of certain animals, but at the same time I See people riding and selling full grown mounts... do they mean "full grown" as in as big as the mount can be and still be a mount, or fully grown for the animal AND mountable?

I can only speak about the BE mountables, as I don't have a lot of experience with their wild counterparts, but all 6 mountable types made by BEs in their current form are mountable at their maximum level (CL 10 for spats and kaadu, CL 18 for Falumpaset and Dewback, CL 28 for Brackaset and CL 30 for Bol).

Bols are better fighters than Brackesets.

I definetly plan on making a light armor, high CL Bol Mount. Will be very cool.

On another note, does anyone know if theres a CL limit on armor? Someone was telling me last night that there was a cap of CL40 on light armor? Is this true?

I really wanted to make a CL15 Pink Bearded Jax with light armor and some nice specials.

This new system throws that idea out the window. Wild bols, I'm sure are better than wild brackaset. With the new system, either could be identical depending on the dna used to make them.

I seriously doubt you can give light armor to anything under CL20 since it uses up equal to around CL10 points worth of a resistance quota meaning it has the resistances like a CL10 critter but has light armor too.

Especially considering in order to get light armor you need samples from creatures with light armor and the lowest mobs with light armor are in the CL30-40 range (under the new changes on TC). I suppose if you could figure which sample slots were weighted heaviest for armor you could put CL30ish DNA in those and weaker DNA in the others but I dought the results will be all that good...if that is even possible.

Another question about combat mounts -are they subject to the same psycology issues as their non mounted counterparts? The reason I ask, Dewbacks and Bolmas are notoriously cowardly in combat, do they turn tail when you are riding them?
