Thread: Patch includes pet trade-in?
I heard someone say on TC server that he traded his Rock Beetle and got back something else, cant remember, but it wasnt a "nurfed" rock beetle, it was another kind of pet. The system was put so that the name and commands the pet knows transfers to the new pet. but the real problem would be that since people with 11 to 15 level creatures would become non-tradable, then the creature would stay "stuck" in datapad, unless you deleted the pet, and i guess its a way to lessen the impact of SOE "stealing" someone's pet that they might have come attached to.

What the **edit** is this? CH pets are getting a nerf, so they get new, better ones? The BE dev hates us so much, he's found a new way to make sure CH's never buy any pets from us. Was it not enough to roll out mounts before the Cloning change? George Lucas's nephew must play a CH.
...CH are getting bent the hell over because of a lone few that amassed so many whiners about our "overpowered" profession the devs listened and nerfed us instead of the combos being used and you have the guile to bitch about something you dont even know what function it serves? You **edit** retentive moron, I hope you personally dont get any CHs buying from you.
CHs know nothing about what this does, some say it is for non CH pets to transfer commands to a new pet, others think it's some kind of pay off where we trade in a pet for something(possiblly credits) to buy us off more or less. Being a former BE myself I would be one of the first CHs coming to a BEs defense about how rediculously useless the class was before, but this patch is forcing CHs to buy pets, there will be nothing worth taming in the wild anymore, and pricks like the topic poster are half the reason a lot of CHs dont personally care for BEs and think you're all a lot of whinie, greedy, holes who want to control the entire creature market.
Trade in's will take place from a CH trainer - the trainer will take your cl15 or less pet and then give you back the same kind of pet back with your commands and name still attached but with the NEW stats of the new wild version of the pet. example you take your old rock beetle(Rocky- cl13 light armor) to the CH trainer in town, andhand it over to him and he gives you gimp beetle(Rocky - cl10NO armor) back.
I personally im not worried at all about this hurting our biz .

I think that was me....
I traded in my Rock Beetle and return I got a Spiked Krevol, which I believe is the 'lower end' version of the Rock Beetle. These are the stats
HAM 900
Speed2.0
To Hit 0.28
Damage90 - 100
Armor none
Resists none
I've been taking a look at some of the pets, that are tamed, and those that were BE created and all I can say is Stock the heck out of pet stims andengineera ton of CL10 pets. I may be a DE, but I'm happy to see that the flesh side of the engineering profession got a little lovin. I just hope that DE is the next on the list ![]()
Finally called a **edit**.
I, like the rest of the BE's do not want to control the pet market. We'd like to be able to PARTICIPATE. I would bet that a mid level CH hassold 10 times more pets than a Master BE. Getting 50% of the market would be nice. This is a CRAFTING profession. We craft pets. Can't even tame them. Or fight with anything better than a CL10. And until we can clone Stormtroopers (like in SW) cloning pets gives BE's a reason to exist. BE cloning has been a complete waste of time up to now.
And don't tell me that making pet stims was a bundle of fun. It was profitable only because CH's were willing to pay so much for them. Because they were overpowered.
We'd love to get the nerf that has so peeved you. At least that would mean we had some kind of advantage. And here's my standard response to CH's that complain that their profession wasn't really overpowered. Go play **edit**. That's P-o-k-e-m-o-n, to get around the forum censor.
Based on your logic, the pistoleers must REALLY hate weaponsmiths.

Reasonable1,
I think the trade in program sounds like a reasonable solution to what could be a PR disaster for Sony. Think about it... maybe you're a newer player without a lot of money, you saved up and got a real nice CL 15 pet, maybe you're just now starting to be able to solo a few lower end missions and enjoying that, and maybe you don't read the forums. You wake up the next morning and suddenly your pet can no longer be used. You'd be seriously pissed would you not? And for good reason. At least this way you get something out of the deal.
Drago,
You CH kiddies amuse me. Actually, your description of BE is pretty much what I think of CH. I've never seen a more arrogent bunch. You get your own pets, you have an uber fighting profession to boot(you must get tired of typing "a" all the time, boy, that must be brutal!), and half the time you won't even train our pets, even when asked nicely and offered a very reasonable sum for your effort(I've been asked for 10k before to get a kahmurra trained with only a subset of thecommands!). Now who are the greedy ones? Personally I'm very excited by the new system, but I think I'm going to focus on non-ch sales, simply so I don't have to deal with the kiddies. I'm sick of answering the "rU a BE? Cn U plz make mE an Uber pet plz?" tells.

My plan is to make some level 20-ish pets for my novice CH, and then seen what the best CL 10 pet is I can make. Maybe that will be my niche since most folks seem to be aiming for the CL 70 market. ![]()

My other character on TC is a novice CH. My wrix (CL13) is no longer usable. There's no option for me to turn it in either.
Hey Anita! I didn't even know you were a BE, hehe, very very cool!
