The Pet Trade in allows for non-CH to trade in their long time pets that are over the new cap for a pet that is exactly the same but with lower CL and stats.

Drago,

You CH kiddies amuse me. Actually, your description of BE is pretty much what I think of CH. I've never seen a more arrogent bunch. You get your own pets, you have an uber fighting profession to boot(you must get tired of typing "a" all the time, boy, that must be brutal!), and half the time you won't even train our pets, even when asked nicely and offered a very reasonable sum for your effort(I've been asked for 10k before to get a kahmurra trained with only a subset of thecommands!). Now who are the greedy ones? Personally I'm very excited by the new system, but I think I'm going to focus on non-ch sales, simply so I don't have to deal with the kiddies. I'm sick of answering the "rU a BE? Cn U plz make mE an Uber pet plz?" tells.

First off it's Draco, youmay call me sir.

You dont know me, or how I play, I have been a pure CH for the most part with just enough pistol skills to use a scout blaster for the longeast time with master medic and master CH. I hardly think pistols 2 is as you put it "An uber fighting profession", my pets arent trained to respond to the one letter commands, and amazingly enough I have macros setup so I never get tired of typing a, except when I get around guys like you I use lots of them, arrogant, **edit** retentive, ass, ect. CHs get our own pets because we put points into the skill. Saying we get pets is like saying a pistoleer gets pistols, it's a no brainer. I train pets for free, except mounts, I charge for that training, I dont know which CH is charging you to train commands and I dont agree with it but it is his right, you wouldnt give away your clones for free all the time would you? You can call us kiddies all you want but if you'd read a few of my other posts you'd see I am in full favor of the BE changes to allow them to be useful being a former one, what I dont agree with are the CH nerfs that have just gotten me slain 3 times in a row bu a huuton, something I use to be able to take 20 at a time with my pets I end up running away from them now. Once again you dont know me, you dont know how I played but Im glad you showed your ignorance assuming I was one of the "uber" class combo guys with nice combat professions backing my pet up. most of my points are spent in artisan surveying, medic, and getting to CH, the few I have left over let me use a pea shooter to defend myself and add my little bit of damage in so I can help my pets a little or get FPs since we dont get jack if our pets tank the mob to death. So get your facts straight first bud, and as for the moron who said "by your logic pistoleers hate weaponsmiths" I dont see pistoleers out taming their own pistols anywhere or many making their own for that matter, I do see whinie BEs getting pampered and instead of being a way to add power to our pets and make them stronger becoming the only source for pets that are even remotely useful in combat.

Okay, I have already done the trade in on Starsider. It's not how they said, I talked to the CH NPC and got nothing, I dragged my PCD onto it and it traded my BE Kahmurra to be a Kahmurra CL 10, with 800 ham and trifling dmg, we can make better than that I am sure. So, nothing to worry about. As for the CH/BE discussion, we need each other, we are glad there is now 'a' need for our pets, no one should be bitter or insulting as we need to work together for a greater good :-) CH's aren't arrogant, if anything they're frustrated by constant nerfs and 'disguised' nerfs. BEs aren't arrogant, they too are plagued with a feeling of being redheaded stepchild no one loves because it took them THIS long to get the clone line which many were waiting for fixed. SO if you guys disagree, agree to disagree and don't insult each other because as Draco pointed out we do not know him, nor do I know anyone here. So, have fun guys!

This isn't something stealthed in, I read about it on the CH boards at *least* two weeks ago and it is supposed to be for people to "trade in" their CL15 pets, which they can no longer call out, for a CL10 version of him. But the mechanism was supposed to be a device you would buy from NPC CHs and then "apply" to the pet control device on your datapad.

I haven't been in today so I don't know for sure (nor do I even know if I can get one being an MCH).

Then get a new proffesion or turn off searching in character options.

Geez a BE, profession that makes pets, annoyed because someone asks him to make a pet that doesn't suck. That's your profession, why wouldn't everyone ask you if you can make them a good pet?

You don't see me crying because I got 1000 tells from people to train their mounts, it was only for a week or so until things settled down. Now the ones who got me to travel 3000+m to train their pet, only to find it wasn't old enough to make a mount out of yet were a bit annoying, but then I just starting asking for pets level before I wasted time on things.

I did nothing but train mounts for free for two straight days. Tameda fewand gave them away (actually sold two for 5k)

Deal with it, no need to get all pissy. Geez get your profession fixed so it's the neatest in the game and eveyone needs you and all you can do is complain about it.

Make people pets, deal with it, it'll slow downin a few days when most folks have a pet.

He's not putting them on ignore for asking. He's ignoring them because they're 733t d00dz. CH attracted the majority of them because it was the most overpowered. Now they will go be commandoes or something.

Draco or Drago or whatever your name is,

You have to earn my respect before you'll get it, and you're not off to a good start, rofl.

What I meant by "you get pets", is not that you are allowedto use them, but you cansupply them for yourself. Up until now, CH's have been more or less exclusive suppliers of critters, particularly amongst themselves. It's funny, because part of your post demonstrates an understanding of the supplier/user relationship between CH and BE, and part of it does not. I mean can you even imagine a weaponsmith having to go to a pistoleer and say "fix my weaponso I as a novice marksman can use it"?. And then have the pistoleer laugh at the weaponsmith, charge himmore to "fix"it then the weaponsmith charges for it,and then after handing the poor weaponsmith back his"fixed" weapon and then go and spend 2 minutes foraging a better weapon out of the ground then the one the weaponsmith had slaved over? It's laughable, it really is. And you know what? It's changed somewhat, but not really all that much. Really the only thing that has changed now is that we're not sure if you can get a better pet in the wild then we can make any longer. And your "suggestion" that we ought to be simply augmenting pets rather than producing them again is laughable. I guess weponsmiths whould focus on weapon powerups then eh? And leave the crafting to the weapon users? Boy, bet they'd just love that idea.

Technically, you still have no absolute dependence on us. You can get your own pets, you can train them, you can use them, you can use "trick" and regular stimpacks to heal them, and dispose of the pets and get new ones when the vitality gets low.

Oh, and as far as my comments about CH being an uber combat profession, well, they (you)are, sorry, but they are. The fact that there is a possibility that you could actually face bodily harm now *gasp* on a dangerous mission just levels the playing field a bit between you guys and the other elite combat professions (which, once again, CH certainly is, you don't seem to grasp that... I'm not talking about your weapons abilities, I'm talking about your abilities as a pet user). I can't tell you how many times I've been on Endor or Dant and seen a CH standing around pointing his Grauls or Rancors at a nest of critters my ranger/carbineer would have no chance against (he'd likely die before killing even a single one of them), and typing a,a,a,a,a and then the nest is dead without him having to fire a shot. You can deny that all you want and try to make me pity the poor poor CH, but we've all seen it, and this CH nerf isn't likely to change that since higher up CH's can still use equally tough pets.

About the only thing I agree with you about is the BE's are whiny. Yes we are. It's a time honored tradition, and part of the BE code, lol.

I did that trade in today and got a dissapointing result:

I thought all it was suppoused to do was bring down the ham/stats to a lvl 10...my level 13 rock beetle with light armor 2200 ham 1.0 something attack spd and 150 or 170 max attack was replaced with a kevol or krevol (its the one similar to the beetle with the beak)

i swear that other type of bug has light armor and moderate ham, but the one i got was 900 ham, no armor, 2 attack spd and 130 attack

for heavens sake my rock beetle at lvl 10 was stronger than that

Killer, let me explain something to you. I have been a tailor since August. I played an architect for a couple of months, and have been a BE for several months now as well. Crafting and serving customers is what I do. I like nothing better than to get a /tell from a mature, patient, appreciative, knowledgeable customer (or one that has at least one of two of those traits) and will always go above and beyond to help them get exactly whatever it is that they want, or even help them determine what it is that they want. As an architect and tailor, my customers have been great, and I've had a great relationship with them and now pretty much live off of 100% repeat customers and referrals. That's what happens when you treat people right. As a bio engineer I've also run across some excellent customers too, some of the CH variety, but mostly of the non-CH variety. However, the biggest difference is that I've had to deal with many many many more immature, arrogent, impatient CH's who make unreasonable demands, and gotta have it right now, and feel they can treat me like dirt, then in the other professions combined. Let's take last night for example. I got about 10 tells from CHs. 90% of them were simply "u got aCL 70 Kimo?". No "hello", no "pardon me", no "I'd like to work with you", just a simple demand. Then when I replied back to them saying that I had just logged on and was heading out to see what I could come up with on Endor, most of them didn't even show me the courtesy of thanking me, or telling me if they were interested or not interested, or wanted to work with me or anything. THAT is what I'm talking about.

And that is what every single proffesion goes through the first night, or first week really, that something cool gets added to their profession. Not a bad price to pay IMO. Just like Ipaid with 10,000 rude people demanding mount training for a week.

Be patient, they are all in a big rush mob mode, you could pick up a lot of good repeat customers from a few of them.

They don't know what it takes to make them, they don't know how the profession works, they don't know if they are better or worse than other pets, they all just simply want to be the first in their PA to have a Kimo following them around.

Your reaction to it is your choice, up to you. I chose to just smile and be amused. When mounts came out I resigned myself to a week of no plans to do anything serious but wander around training and taming for free.

Much more fun and less stress that way.

If you just can't stand it and don't want to deal with it, when they ask a bout a Kimo, just say "no I don't do Kimos" and go on your way, and don't wear a BE tag, and make your character unsearchable in the character options for a week.

Personally, rather than deal with BE'sfor a new pet, I've decided to master it myself and make my own pets. I won;t have any for a while, but I won't have to beg a BE that doesn't want to give me the time of day for less than 250k to experiment for me either.

You've got to be kidding me.

I'm so ecstatic that the pets I craft (even as a non-Master BE) are valuable, I can't imagine charging 250k for them...especially since a Master BE (which I will be one day) will make better ones.

The biggest badass pet I can think of would be worth...what? 100k? Tops? For the cream of the crop?

And I can't make any of those calibur yet.

My profession is finally interesting. I started BE over a month ago with no idea they were going to put the changes to the profession through this soon. In fact, at the time I didn't even know changes were on the horizon, but I stuck with it and was pleasantly surprised. I was actually getting burned out. After last night, I finally realized that now there will be a reason to seek out strange and rare creatures--just for their DNA!

Of course, it's a give and take, because I'm also a CH and I definitely lost some value out of my existing pets.

Anyway, if you're on Naritus and want a pet (without the gouging) you can contact me: Lazar. Considering the resources and time in sampling involved, I think a decent price is justified (10k for starters, perhaps) but neither do I think we need to go nuts catering to the mega-rich, either.
