Thread: Critical Failures
I hate these!
Has anyone had a Critical Failure on a PA Hall before?
The one that bummed me the most was a Critical Failure on a Large Harvester. That hurt!
Critical Failure on a PA Hall would make me retire!
Get used to it! Sorry to say but true. We all feel your pain.
Bird
yes.. the third one I made was a failure..
However, last night, after the patch, I built over a million credits worth of structures and didnt fail on so much as a single block..
I would like to know why we have so many Critical Failures?? I am almost a Master Architect and sometimes get 3 out of 5 Critical Failures, I don't think the Devs realise how fustrating this is beibg on high end of game. When I have a Critical Failure if is always on HIGH END items and lose is UNREAL in resources (which since last resource shift) has become almost invisible on MAIN resources, being Lo-Grd Ore and Solar Energy. I am on Lowca server and home base is Tatoonie outside of Espa now this is MAIN problem, Solar Energy is ONLY 19 to 28%now think about this, Tatoonis is a DESERT PLANET WITH 2 SUNS and we get 28% solar energy TOPS, this is a BIG JOKE.
On the Critical Failures I think of skill as riding a BICYCLE, in the beginning you fall (FAIL) at the rate of 99% of time as you gain experience your chances of falling WILL decrease, should this not be same in CRAFTING??? I don't mind losing a wall module at the rate of say 1 out of a 100 since I have been crafting for a LONG time and XP SHOULD improve but alas DEVS and DEVOLOPERS don't see this.
Just had to get it off my chest as is very disturbing that XP in skills has no baring on failures!!!
I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem, or if I just have terrible luck.
I tried crafting two heavy mineral mining installations tonight, both failed in the same way. I crafted small items, furniture and structure modules, until I got a regular critical failure.
When you get a critical failure the crafting tool shows that the materials placed into the schematic return to 0. Now after getting a critical fail on one of these items, I close the crafting tool, and open it again. I place all the components and materials in for a heavy mineral mining installation and combine....get that lovely critical fail sound, but all the materials and components show as still being in the schematic. I try and take one of the components out and I get some error message saying that the tool is no longer in the crafting stage. I try to assemble again and get the same error. Only option is to close the tool and lose everything. Same thing happens again with a second heavy harvestor later that night.
I'd just like to know if anyone has experienced a similar problem, or if I should just curse my bad luck and move on. =)
Some extra info: the crafting tool I used was rated 13.92 I belive and the station was 17.02. All the materials were good quality, over 750 in the important stats, and all the components were factory made and experimented on for best possible quality.
But is this a bug in that you will automatically critical fail because of the bug, thus giving a reason to report it and try to reclaim the lost materials, or is it just a bug where once you get a normal critical failure the tool gets stuck in this state. I don'tthink I hadthis problem onthe critical fails I had for small items, I only noticed it with these harvestors.
Not like I expect much from a CSR ticket anyway heh. Istill have an 8 day old one where the only reply was an automated response that had nothing to do with the problem I had listed =)
Let me say that I love this game and that I am not one of the whiners and "GoodBye, I am Cancelling my Account" people.
Having said that the crit failures almost made me throw my monitor across the room. I was having problems with crits so I went out and got the best crafting tools and stations that I could find. I have orders for 3 Large Houses and an Equipment Factory so I start wroking on a Large Naboo House. All was well through crafting the final step as I only had 3 crit fails that run. But alas I fail on the entire house, final step! All those resources out the window, not to mention I lose the sale because I promised it to a guy and couldn't deliver at the prescribed time.
I don't in principal have problem with the crit failure idea. I do however think that the devs should make it so that nothing fails on the final step, its too costly.
yep after I finally got enough ore to make a factory, mind you going poor over it (have exactly 402 credits to my name now) I got all the parts done to make the factory, and of course crit failed on the entire thing. What was that about 400k in resources just gone.
seriously reconsidering this profession, if an armorsmith/weaponsmith blow up a weapon they are crafting they aren't near out the resources as we are, and they sell their items for far more then we do.
