I'm a newb to SWG and I read that you can use a rifle to attack mobs and if they get up close you can use Eyeshot (from bounty hunter tree) to finish them off. Would this work for both PvM and PvP? If so, please help me with how i should spend my skill points. If I take Master Marksman, Master Scout, and up to Bounty Pistol Specialization II, I will have 81 skill points left to spend. What skills should I get in Rifleman and Pistoleer? For another 5 points, I can get Pistol Specialization IV which would add +30 to pistol speed and accuracy. Should I get that too? Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

Hihi!!

I am a Master Dancer by trade and dabble a bit in the fencing arts. Currently I am working on 1H sword Master (4th Tier in Brawling). Thus far I love fencing and how it is a lot like dancing (in the way it looks).

My question is this, how to get better XP. I take solo missions while my best weapon is armed so I am fighting even cons all the time. Nets me about 200 - 250 XP a kill, but at that rate it will take forever to get into the Fencer skill tree.

I like to hunt on Corellia, currently I usually get missions against Krabhu, Scavenger Rats, Murra, etc. I do notice that if I fight human type chars the XP is better. Should I focus on humans maybe? Yesterday I fought an even human and took him out fast (love lunge/dizzy) and he netted 1000k XP. Wish I could find more like him!!

Anyways, any advice is appreciated.

One good way I've found: Hit up some faction based missions, if youre going either way. Dizzy/lunge continues to work wonders, as well as spin if it gets tight.

if you're already affiliated, it'll be much tougher, but still managable. I've personally taken out many many red con humans solo, in fact some just this morning.

I do have over 20K in each pistol and carbine but as for combat xp I'm way away from 40K right now. My intention was to get to BH but I didnt' know about the combat Xp (I should have read more). It's a real long road but what amazes me is how many BH's there are. To think all the work it cost, it's truely amazing

I need some advice I've asked this a few times but now that I'm right there I really need some profession advice. I've mastered Marksman and Scout, thinking I'd choose BH as a profession. Sure now I still need 40K but that's not a big deal, it's just the endless path to BH.

I did reach novice ranger which has really got me thinking. Is BH totally worth the 40K? Maybe Ranger is a better way to go, though it means Master Marksman was a waste. What you guys think? I just want to know what the Rangers and the BH's think about their choosen professions?

hehehe, I was a Ranger, 7 blocks into it. Dropped it all. Haven't missed any of it. I hear there are 2 kind of neat abilites now for rangers, the ability to tell what kind of animals are near you (out of radar range), and the ability to conceal (mask scent) other players. BH is WAY better. Oh, and buy a bunch of grenades to throw at gnorts to get Combat xp faster. Grenades give combat xp instead of weapon xp, so for a Gnort you get 64 combat AND 6 combat.

Son of a... that's the best advice I ever heard! I wish I knew that a while back.

Of course, doing things the old fashion way I managed to gain enough pistol and carbine exp to level both once. That was ON TOP of taking the time to become a Novice Rifleman so I could use a T21...

Nah, I guess Novice Bounty Hunter is just too **edit** easy. /laugh

With all the changes they already have in testing to alter the Ranger you'd do well to pick that up instead. That way when the changes are made in the near future, you will already have a fairly decent jump into that profession. They still don't have designs on how to balance out the BH prof as of yet. From what I've read, shortly the ranger is going to be EXTREMELY cool. Just my opinion.

Combat exp is generally awarded (if not always) on a 10:1 ratio with weapons exp. If you get 10 weapons exp for killing a critter, you get 1 combat exp.

Since you need 150k carbine and 150k pistol exp for the first box in both of those BH lines, you can get 15k of combat exp apiece (total 30k combat exp)from getting ready to train these lines. This leaves another 10k of combat exp that you need to gain that you need to gain.

Personally, once I had everything BUT Ranged Support fully trained in Marksman, I decided to spend some time gaining rifle exp with my combat exp for the Novice Rifleman box. In the end, I had Novice Rifleman and enough exp (with a bit to spare) for the first box of BH Pistol and BH Carbine before I met the 40k combat exp requirement of Novice BH.

If points allow it, you can do whatever you want. I was for a few days, TK Master, Master Smuggler, Master Smuggler. That was incredibly boring however.

Check out a Character Builder, and see what you can do, point's wise.
