Thread: Is it worth it
Im on the path in my SW game, where I have several choices to go.
I recently am almost complete with the trees for master marksman, and before I go out to do the hard path for the Unarmed Spec, I want to ask
Is commando really worth persuing?
My guild mates suggest I go towards it because they want an ATST killer, and a buddy of mine who is a commando suggests it, while almost all the threads in the forum complain about it.
Is there any hope in the future for this class?
Im willing to wait it out
Eh...... I'd think you'd best do something else for the time being..... right now we are a borked class and pretty much those of us who remain commandos are dedicated to the class b/c we've been them since beta (This is true for myself and a few others I know who are commandos in game)
Right now I probably wouldn't go for a commando, maybe in a week or two.
Do this class if you want to. You can get to master commando after a bazillion solo bunnies.
Then, within two weeks, we'll get patched and you'll log in to a whole new world of happiness.
Up to you.
Not heal that is. They reduce these or let us do another things while the special is working the duration would be fine. Its just stupid the way it is now.
Been master merchant for a good 5 weeks now and too be honest apart from being a good base for my PA to get the items they need im finding the line pointless.
1 The only 3 things that are anygood are the 6 vendors you get planetary add and reduction on maintenance for structures and so on. And this is not enough to keep me hooked
2 I feel that other professions think we are pointless apart from planet ad. Most crafters have there own vendors and sell there own items. I think that merchants should be the only players to have vendors.
3 If nothing happens soon im going to drop most of the skills and place then somewhere else.
Just my thoughts
I am sitting on a pile of exp, delaying the decision whether to Master for a couple of weeks.
I am hoping that there will be some new content in skills with the Cities expansion, otherwise I have better use for the skill points.
I would certainly have taken Master if I could get a "retired master" badge when dropping it, without that I don't see the point now.
It is worth it to me.
Things in these skills are undenieably broken and sometimes very frustrating, but I am having a very good time for now. At least it is a different hamster wheel than EQ or Camelot became after years of playing each.
Ifsomeoneprefers to measure fantasy-gaming achivement and satisfactionby theirpersonal & business relationships and net worth, then theymight enjoyMaster Merchanttoo.
If a crafter just wants to sell more of their items, then Master itself would be rather worthless to most. One skill tree and part of another will provide all the benefit you could use to further your business. Making the rest work to your advantage takes imagination, creativity and a strong resistance to programming bugs driving you homicidal. Making thetitle work in the middle of a truely active civil war will take even more talent.
Please don't misconstrue this as not wanting this $%@& fixed or....even.....(gasp) improvements! It's just good enough now to keep me around for 6 months to a year to see how it, and the game, matures.
I hope if you achieve it, you feel the same way. Many unhappy folks about these days, in all the professions. The dissappointment apparent in their writings hangs like rain clouds. Just thought I would point out some of usARE having fun playingmerchants in this game, despite the frustrations.
i agree,
only merchants with at least novice should be able to place vendors.
but u are not alone, not only merchant masters are worthless somehow /sigh
Well my envisionment of Merchant actually involved the merchant being more of a "group" type character. By setting up contracts and such they are the ones that actually run the shops. Individual crafters run their own vendors. Everybody makes money.
That was the abridged version anyway.
