Thread: DNA sampling keeps failing on high lvl creatures

why is this?
what am i doing wrong?
is there something i can get to increase my chances of getting a successfull dna sample?
i forgot to add my BE is MBE/MCH with a bit of ranger cl59 (im not sure the cl matters on sampling)

Well, i beleive that when a creature gets to a certain cl, you can't retrieve DNA Samples from them. The highest i beleive i have gotten was from a cl 71.

i've sampled from creatures as high as CL76. does anyone know the max?

You couldn't have samped CL76, it must have been 75, because the sampling cap is 75.

This is something thats been bothering me for a while. Is the cap really 75, or is it just that we as BE are limited to CL 65, so 10 levels above us gives CL75 as the artificial max?
Perhaps one of those questions that I will be able to answer once I get to CL80 with my BE toon. Currently lvl 51 and got about 6 million Jedi xp to go. Should take me about 50 months to get there.

I always DID wonder about this top cap. CL (of the critter) seems to determine the % fail/sample at all levels. It just never made sense to me that the code would suddenly change at level 75 to have a hard cap but I was told it was so, this is BE lore, etc.
I have TRIED to sample level 76's in the wild and always got incapped and cloned eventually. But maybe ... it *is* possible??? Who knows ...

absotively posolutely sure. i did it again tonite and this time i took pics:

and i successfully obtained this DNA sample: clicky
How did you get the damage so high?

Look at it's health he sacrificed health for damage. But still a nice job. As for the CL thing in the wild i have not been able to sample over 75 since pre publish 9 I think when we got the system we have now for cloning. as for sampleing deeds i never realy tried to sample them if they feel over 75 so not sure but we should test it out.

i wish i could duplicate it or share it, but i don't keep notes. i start with a ton of dna (the best kashyyyk samples) and make something, then sample it and make something new, then sample, etc. it's unscientific, but i do get some interesting results.
the creature that i crafted using the angler dna mentioned above is an abomination: CL 66 with 515 max damage and 4400 hit points. now i don't know whether to sample it and keep going or put it into service as is.
