Thread: New droids and Implications for bio-e.

Well I have seen the first round of combat droids and was pleasantly surprised.

4300ish hams and 35-25% resists on everything. I can't get those resists on my pets and keep it to CL10, so hopefully that means the devs will relax the CL10 requirements for Bio-E pets (or at least not nerf us again).

Droids and Non-CH pets a little like Apples and Oranges though.

Droids require batteries/pets do not.

Droids have special healing packs/Non-ch can use medic or pet stims.

Droids can be customized in appearance post creation/Pets are a one shot deal.

I am sure there are a ton more differences too I am not thinking of. It is encouraging to me though that Droids are looking robust. I hate it when my customer tells me his pet is no longer callable and i have to replace it.

Ultimately what you should find is if you pit a CL10 droid against a CL10 pet then you should find they are about even in terms of strength, the same when used against mobs. However what we saw when looking at the probot is that droids are infact better than CL10 clones in some cases.

Tal, supposidly the new generation of droids this publish are not CL 10 they are actually CL 18.

yah last patch they were lvl 13

the only thing this does i've noticed is limit it to one pet or one droid if you don't have any ch skills

also droids can be used "out of the box" so-to-speak.... pets have to be tamed and take a week to grow
and pets can be given food to buff their health/action/mind or all at once.... also food to heal wounds, and can do "tricks" to heal mind damage/wounds
also some pets can be mounted (although many would argue this is a useless ability)

So if non-DE's can control a droid that is near lvl18 then why can't non-CH's control higher lvl pet??

My new level 19 probot droid--

2944 HAM 40% resists on everything (Was 20% Kin/Eng on the deed and on first call, but it rose to 40%... a bug, I guess) damage 178-188 (Battery power 70%- Undamaged) It is customized for pure combat, with six combat modules and two armor units.

You can call it SIMULTANEOUSLY with a pet.

I'm assuming anyone can call it, making it the equivilant of our non-CH pets.

With these powerful droids out, they'd BETTER relax any threats againstOUR non-CH Pets.

As it stands, good droids are more powerful than our non-CH pets. But the differences actually compliment each other.

1) Probots have much higher resists and damage

2) Batteries and Repair kits are required for use.

3) Pets healwith conventional stims.

4) Pets get SPECIALS!!!! (I'm assuming everyone knows how to put a custom special in the Spec Attack 2/ aggression slot)

5) Pets do tricks.

6)ANYONE canuse BOTH of them TOGETHER!!

7) Droids don't have Vitality. I don't know what happens when they get DB'd.

8) I'm assuming droids can only be ranged.

All in all, the strength of droids gives us ammunition to fight having our pets nerfed in the future. The strength of our non-CH pets also gives us the ability to continue selling them in this Doc-Buff market.

Our current selling points should stress that they can be called together, the pet 'tanks' and applies specials while the probot shoots as a strong backup. The pet takes more damage, but that saves on the repair kits and batteries. Would you like a free petstim with your new pet?

I'm a CH, I can call a pet and a droid together. I don't know if this is true for non-CH's.

Hmm, I understand that they now have droid repair tools and droid stims, so it seems like some kind of vitality concept would need to exist for them. /shrug, dunno.

Bottom line is that to get our CL10s to the level of the new droids it would requre MUCH more work and alot of generational cloning and we would still have the fear of it being an invalid pet. The DEs fan do fu(king factory runs fer crying out loud! I'm not gonna cry 'nerf the DEs' likesome of themcried 'nerf CL10 BE pets'when our CL10s were better but for crying out loud throw us a bone

I placed an order with my DE friend tonight and he explained to me that I have a choice of a "tank" with 6k HAM and 100 or less damage, or a 4k HAM one that did about 150 damage. Both have 25% resists across the board I believe, although I'll know more when I get my hands on em (I went with the 4k/150).

I could of course be upset about this, but to be perfectly honest, these stats aren't that different from the CL 10's we can make. And I still have a rediculous CL 10 in my datapad that has like 8k HAM and 60% kinetic and 100 damage, rofl. Yea, it was a result of a horrible failure during experimentation of a would-be CL 20ish pet. Oh well. Maybe 2 wrongs do make a right, lol.

Well at least you still can't ride a droid Not that I see many people ride pet mounts anyway.

I think with that damage and those resists mmost Droids would whoop non-ch pets. That in mind, I can't see the dev;s deciding to nerf us again. Which is more then enough to make me happy.
