Eggs - I've had reports of numbers between 10 and 20 searching lairs. My own results were around 10, but mostly under 10.

Milk - each creature that can be milked can only be milked once and yields between 20 and 50 milk.

Fish - There is a noticable increase on fish. In an hour I pulled in 300 fish

Shellfish - Thanks to Vandessa for telling me the location of the shellfish tool quest. In Anchorhead under the bridge is a gentleman that gives you two quests, the first one is to kill a Bounty hunter that is chasing him. The BH was tough, but I finished him off using a republic blaster and Marksman Pistol 4 with my wild female kaadu. The second quest is to deliver a bantha statue. The reward for delivering the statue is the schematic for the shellfish tool that is placed in deed form in your inventory. Theschematic requires Artisan Engineering 3 to use, this places the schematic in your datapad.Ittakes 45 Aluminum, 25 Copper and 5 Crystalline Gemstone to build the tool. You must be standing, not swimming, in water to use the tool. Using the tool appears to have no effect at first, but after a few seconds you lose some action and mind and have a small chance to find some shellfish. After going through 2 bars of action, I had about 29 crustacean and 19 molusk.

um, I have been playing for around 3 months now and I have still never seen milk. Some people claim that the Janta natives on Dant drop it but I have killed tons of Mokk natives and gotten no milk, I didn't want to kill janta because I see them quite often and don't want to draw aggro. Now, I've also heard rumors that you could get it from female creatures..

Can you confirm or deny this info? Or even suggest creatures that can be milked and how to do it?

I just started BE recently and I am enjoying the mad scientist experience.

Thanks for the update tal - but man, I got better results hand surveying at Survey I than we'll get with that tool.

Storm - I think you missed where Talthazar said in the topic title that he is reporting data from test centre, - as in, its not live yet.

There are some spots where very rarely you can get milk atm at static loot piles and even more rarely of some humaniods, but basically just wait a week or twofor the next publish

As near as I can tell it doesn't require artisan to use the tool, just to use the schematic and make it.

Sweet, thanks Tal! Do you know what skills will be needed to be able to milk a creature? Is it something any Scout can do? Also, are there only certain creatures that can be milked, or is it true that (to steal a line from "Meet the Parents") "You can milk just about anything with nipples" - Gaylord Focker. Lastly, do different creatures give different kinds of milk, or just different planets? Thanks for engaging my curiousity!

Only certain creatures give milk. I don't have a full list but some I have milked include lesser plains bol, which givedomesticmilk, and picket females and picket plains walkers, which both give wild milk. I have yet to see a male creature give milk, so no, not anything with a nipple

It looks like the mollusk finder needs to have it's yeilds increase because draining 2 action bars for less than 50 units of materials it's utterly useless. It's nice that the fishing has increase a bit, at least it looks like we'll be able to make a whole crate now after just an hours of fishing which is quite fair. The milk I think sounds like it might be tricky but not impossible, the yeilds sound ok however getting the animals to stand still sounds like a nightmare even with maskscent. I guess a bit of playtesting will determine if the yields need to be increased more because of how tough it is to get the animals to stay still.

Oh yeah... do you need a certain level of scouting skill to be able to milk creatures? Or any skills at all? Thanks!

You do need to have maskscent to be able to milk a creature. If you try to milk it unmasked, you get a message saying the creature is spooked and cannot be milked from. It's not neccessary for the creature to stand still, but you do need be be within 3 meters at each check, there are 4 I believe, in order to successfully milk the creature. I didn't find it that difficult to stay within range unless the creature decided to run.
