If there were more Chefs around like you then I don't think we wouldn't be in this situation.

Ironically, I have another window open where I'm involved in a pretty heated argument with a Chef (I'll admit I have already had a run-in with this guy before however). There are a lot of idiots about, and it is unfortunate that others have to suffer them.

I don't think it is that BE's dislike chefs. Most chefs I've met are real nice people. It is more in that chefs undervalue our products as well as what we go through to make those products available. I've had chefs go so far as to blame the high cost of food items on bio-engineers. Chefs have told me they can get good quality meat at 10cpu and that I've been gouging them. I was flabbergasted and to him topurchase the meat himself and I'll make a schematic at the bargain basement price of 30K. The response was "I don't have time to do your job for you."

Thank you for the appreciation. Without a chef I wouldn't have the brandy I need to sample mutant rancors.

Well its ongoing in the trade forum Feel free to join in. (although I dont want him to claim I brought in backup or something stupid like that)

Basic gist is that he wants a long term BE contract, and says that our costs for making a run of BSN is no more than500k, Im saying its more.

I even went so far as look in his tracker for his bids on carn meat and flora, and proved that he himself pays more than he reckons u need to pay. Hewas thenclaiming that you don't use those resources in particular, instead using cheaper ones, which tbh is a load of crap. He has even gone so far as to call me a liar for claiming that I use these resources (goodness knows how he can prove or I can disprove that one).

Alsoapparently I am trying to rip off Chefs etc... and the final biggy - ApparentlyI get 250% profit margin on nutrients...(news to me)

hehe.

He may be pretty well known on Chimaera, but his avg post rating of 2* says a lot.

I've even managed to get a referal to a Tailor who needs tissues.

Seems your chefs are not unlike some of the chefs on my server.

I believe the average Chef is the same on every server. At least there are some good ones about too

Yes, there are some very nice chefs out there that are a pleasure to do business with. My favorite chef left the game a few months back, along with my favorite tailor.

The entire guild left for other adventures.

YOU GET 250% MARGIN!?!?!?!?
/bowtolloyd
teach me master...

or at least if you can't refer me to this chef who can tell me how i'd be _VERY_ interested to know.

As for the real problem, find out who is thinking about supplying him/talk to the other BE's on your server and come to an agreement to not sell to this guy. If he's half the @$$ you make him out to be, then he can watch his business fail w/o suppliments imo.

and then there's the always-so-popular /addignore...the one gift that we can be sure the devs were thinking of BE's when they created

Yeah, on his thread I've advised other BEs not to work with him, problem is he already has an alt. He wants 10 runs a week to pick up the slack he can't do himself.

Hes pretty well known on Chimaera, so I doubt his business will fail, after all he is looking to expand Its just a shame hes an idiot.

As for the 250% profit, Haha, I wish.

Dude, you're dealing with Johnson. This man is the shrewdest businessman on the server. He is the only person who could successfully claim to have reached money cap. He sells creds on ebay. The simple rule is: DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH HIM. I've had the pleasure of killing his DJK alt and I loved every moment of it.

After reading the attached post by lloyd i thought i had to post a responce from me as a Chef..

Firstly, i found Bio i really intresting prof, i've too date started it twice and too date finished twice after only getting 3-4 boxes... i found it one of the hardest profs to gain xp on and would like to congratulate all Master Bio's... tough work getting that master..

As for all Bio's not liking to deal with Chefs.. We can't live without you!! if there was no Bio's our canapes and brandies would be worthless and about as powerful as Fiat panda.... I don't think the normal "lets kill lots of things" person knows what goes into getting a +400 brandy to them and they probably don't care.. so for all your efforts that go unrewarded.. i, on behave of me as i can't speak for other chefs would like to say... THANK YOU!

10 runs a wek?!?! Wow, that's a LOT of meats not counting the flora not to mention the factory time of 3 days/run.

I just did a run of IN's for our guild Chef. Flora@ 3cpu (lol...as if you can goet the good stuff at that price if you have to buy it) and meats@5cpu(crappy meats) it costs about 370k. Thats not bad considering I could get 1 mil credits for a full run. Problem is organics for good stuff, not uber, runs about 6-10 cpu and good meats, not uber, runs 10-20 cpu. A high + IN's run will cost closer to 740k...the profit is cut to 250k or so.....the higher the meat costs, the less profits.
