10 runs a wek?!?! Wow, that's a LOT of meats not counting the flora not to mention the factory time of 3 days/run.

I just did a run of IN's for our guild Chef. Flora@ 3cpu (lol...as if you can goet the good stuff at that price if you have to buy it) and meats@5cpu(crappy meats) it costs about 370k. Thats not bad considering I could get 1 mil credits for a full run. Problem is organics for good stuff, not uber, runs about 6-10 cpu and good meats, not uber, runs 10-20 cpu. A high + IN's run will cost closer to 740k...the profit is cut to 250k or so.....the higher the meat costs, the less profits.

In the past 3 weeks Ive made about 40-50 runs. (and I spent 10 days on holiday)

Its pretty simple if you can put up a load of factories (I had 15 running at once for a few days), and have 7 permanently running stuff. 6 for Chef tissues, 1 for Tailor tissues.

The main problem is meat. For those runs,I have used up 800k - 1Mill unitsof meat. granted I've been paid *pretty* well for them (although poorly by chef profit standards), and have a load of money in my bank, but now I have no meat left to make +87 tissues, and probably only have enough to make 10 more runs of +85/86.

There hasn't been a really nice Dath spawn for about...hmmm...not sure, but its at least a month, more likely2 months (admitedly itwas 2 good ones together, although no one seemed to notice the second one, possibly because of the fairly low OQ, but high PE/FL). When the next bunch of decent Dath Carn *DOES* spawn, I reckon there is going to be a mad rush, and the meat prices are going to skyrocket to levels never b4 seen.

If good Dath Carnivore Meat spawned more frequently, then It would help stabilise the meat market as people wouldn't be trying to horde as much as they can afford.

WOW, if I could come up with 800k units of meat I would be the best BE on our server. Fact is Docs have got the price of meat on our server up to 200cpu, meaning that noone will hunt for anything less, because the docs were paying that much for the avian meat. I have no scout or ranger friends with harvesting skills, so i end up hunting for all the resources I need by myself. and I come up with about 10k units of meat or bone or hide on and average hunt for resources.

can I have some of your meat? I think that is why I stick to tailor tissues. They aren't in as high of demand and I can acually keep up with them. I don't think I have had 20k units of meat to make a full factory run in 4 months.

Hmmm. Our docs pay 200 for avian. Fortunately some of our rangers have realised that a Carnivore meatcan meanbetter money/time ratio.

As soon as they give us Xserver trade, Ill let u have some

It was almost all my stockpile, Im left with around 200k of ok meat, and about 350k of grinding/pet meat.

Afair bit of my meat I bought off Septus when he quit BE (a lot of you here will know who I mean). I had been hording it for about 3 months previous, as I wasn't spending much time on SWG. Add in two good spawns of Dath, and I had quite a stockpile of around 1mill units of good meat, as well as assorted 400k of crap grinding/pet meat.

Gasp. I can't get enough meat for one factory run at a time. I'd love to be running factories constantly. I'd be happy to run ONE factory constantly.

If I buy meat on Gorath, right now most BE tissues go for below cost.

Something needs to change and quickly.

Holy smokes, I think I've seen a 100k stack of meat a grand sum of 5 times since I've started playing this game. In fact I think my total meat stock is around 100k, not much over if it is. Maybe I need to re-examine how I get meat. Maybe seed my business capitol with a run of good BSN's so I can buy meat instead of harvest it. Although, if I end up with a 100k stack of the same meat I'll probably stare at it for a few hours in disbelief before I use it. lol

If you buy meat you'll end up selling your tissues at a loss, at least on my server you will. It isn't that good meat can't be found for cheap, it is because the meat sellers are selling meat that will bring in the biggest buck. They won't bother harvesting meat that sells for 10cpu when they can get meat that sells for 250cpu instead.

But doesn't this mean the real cost for our tissues is above the price? If so, are our prices too low? Should we just be harvesting and selling meat until the price goes up for tissues?

The short answer is yes. If we buy the meat/flora at server prices and make a loss on nutrients, then we are better off just selling resources. Not to mention we don't have factory time in harvesting for money.

Now to maximise profits it is reasonable ot harvest your own, thats just good business sense, but if the value of nutrients is lower than the cost of the raw resources why bother making them?

Yep, if the value of the raw resource is more than that of the completed product, just sell the raw resource and save the trouble of factory upkeep and power and time. Or, you could make a few runs and price them at a profit and then let them sit. That way, chefs can't complain no one has a stocked vendor.

What I don't understand is this:

If we are all in agreement that the cost of the materials is currently higher than the price of the nutrients, why do we continue selling them at that price?

It must just be on our server Hylidex. It is almost impossible to hire someone to collect meat for you.

I think our server is the worst, but if it can happen on our server, it can happen anywhere.
