Thread: Question about cancelling account

I am posting this in a couple different areas because I am not sure where I should ask this question.

I am going to have to cancel my accounts due to time and other constarints (I have only been on for 20 minutes in the last 2 weeks). I plan on coming back in a couple months but want to keep my characters and their inventory.

Does anyone know what happens to your buildings, items, and inventory when you cancel your account?

If you lose everything, then I guess I will not be coming back to the game.

Thanks,

Dump all your credits in your house maintenance and store everything there. The devs won't delete your toon for 6 months.

I'm pretty sure that they keep your char for something like 3months, after that, what they do with it is up to them. They can put it in the trashcan, or simply let it in a corner taking dust.

As for housing, i dont really know sorry.

I think it is saved even longer than 6 months. I quit last october, came back in July, and still everything here (except house and harvesters, of course, which I didn't pay ahead).

Exp, skills, money, items in inventory and bank, all still here. I even got my 1 year reward in the meantime.

Thanks for the info. I might sell off or give away my stuff (includes the HQ avain from Yavin a couple months ago) as I will be away longer than 3 months and if it is deleted I will not be coming back.

From what I have understood, your char(s) and items do not go poof for 6 months from cancelation in case you decide to re-activate you account(s). However, if the maintenance on any of your structures run out, they will decay and be destroyed. I would suggest dumping a crap load of maintenacne into them to make sure that wont happen or add a trusted friend to the admin list on your structures to ocassionally put maintenace in them for you.

TH has said that they're going to start deleting characters that are 6 months old on a regular basis, so assume your character will be wiped in 6 months time. I think the T&C's state that they'll keep everything for 3 months, so if your inside that time you'll be fine.

There was a Dev Thread a little while ago that stated they were going to start purging characters over six months old. As long as you return within that timeframe you should be fine. I would contact SOE's Customer Service to make certain though.

Not sure if it still works this way, but when you cancel there is a little blurb about how the only gaurentee (god I suck at spelling) that they'll keep your character present for 3 months. However I quit for over 6 months and when I came back my character was still there. As for buildings and structures, they remain in game and use up maitence at the regular rate, so either pay a ton of maintence before you quit or deed them all.

Hope that helps
