I would say at least 100K simply because of the Identical walls that are needed.

Here are my prices (from memory, this might be inaccurate )... the range is because I base them on resource availability at the time. Like now, there is no ore at all on corellia, thus, the prices are on the high end.

Heavy Mineral: 175k-200k

Heavy Gas: 125k-140k

Heavy Chemical: 140k - 160k

Heavy Flora: 120k - 140k

Heavy Water: um.. I can't remember.

Fusion Gen: 185k - 220k

You can't just charge 1 price for all heavies, because the material costs on each type is different. 100k is WAY too little, though... my prices are actually probably too low, based on a global 4.2 credits per resource, with individual resource types weighted depending on availability. Considering crit failures, you'll probably end up getting around 3 credits per resource you use or destroy in crafting, over time.

I do know, my lowest heavy is 120-130k, and highest is mineral at 175k-200k (usually 181-184). Fusion gen is a little higher than the heavy mineral.

I've been tenatively saying 100k for mineral, 90k for the others.

Most people won't buy them at those prices, but they aren't for all crafters.

I will probably go up to 150k. Since with all the factory parts they are just as difficult to make as a large house. And like houses, if you take care of them they will last forever.

it's far better to ask a higher (while reasonable) price and make less sales, than sell a lot at low prices.. if people don't NEED it, they won't buy it at the higher price, but if they do, they will. This will keep the galaxy from being flooded by thousands of needless structures, keeps people from expecting everything to be dirt cheap, and keeps architects from pulling all their hair out. And in the end, you make more that way, even though you are selling less QUANTITY, the somewhat higher prices make up for it in the short term, and in the long term, the fact that not everyone has 20 of every deed means there is still a potential market in the future, and the prices haven't become so low that you can't make a dime on them. Soon credits are going to be worth so little, because everyone has so many, that 200k for a harvester is going to be easy... better to charge it now, and not get it, and get it in the future when 200k is nothing, than to charge 80k now, set the precedent, and be forced to sell for 80k in the future when 80k really won't do ANYTHING at all for you. Sure, getting the 80k now might be easier than not getting anything, but... well, the appeal of the dark side is its ease and promise of a quick return. But in the end, you just get zapped by finger-lightning and thrown into a pit.

Never thought of it in the long term like that Ian, Thanks.

I've never budged on my prices otherwise. Had interest in a lrg house the other day, told them 150k, they said they could get it for 120k. Told them go ahead. Heck I'll buy them for 120 to resell at 150.

I will be adjusting my prices for new customers, I'll keep them like I always have for my good customers, lower.

1) I find extractors sell easier than homes.

2) Yes.

I've sold heavy extractors at my prices, yes... most people opt for the mediums or personals though, because they don't actually NEED the heavies, so its not worth the cost for them. Personals are really the best unless you need large quantities of resource (for sale or use), because they are SOOO much more flexible, and easy to place.

And I am not asking arbitrary prices, I am calculating the prices directly based on the resources used... and there really isn't a huge profit margin in there... just because someone sells them for 90k and someone else sells them for 180k, doesn't meant he person selling for 180k is making a huge profit or trying to take advantage of people.. it MIGHT be that the person selling for 90k just doesn't realize his actual costs, hasn't thought about various issues, or just doesn't care and is supported by others and not self-sufficient. Self-sufficience DOES result in higher prices, just like in reality... a small privately owned company is often more expensive than a giant industrial chain doing the exact same thing... that doesn't make the privateer a money-hungry scoundrel... He just does what he needs to eat.

There are of course exceptions, sometimes these things ARE done for greed or other more base reasons, but... don't assume someone is trying to scam you just because they charge more than someone else does. *shrug*
